INFEST (15/02/08)
Before the show gets underway, we are shown highlights from last week as Christopher Daniels and Rhino pick up a victory
over Scott Steiner and Carlito, with Rhino later laying down the gauntlet for a frustrated ‘Big Poppa Pump’. AJ
Styles cost Lethal and Dutt victory against the Machineguns to show that strength is most definitely in numbers, while the
first ever VIP Lounge saw CM Punk fall prey to a double attack from MVP and James Storm, until Kazarian made the save. And
after issuing a challenge at the start of the night, Robert Roode went head to head with Batista as we discovered that it
had been a set up all along, as World Heavyweight Champion Edge comes in and takes down Batista with a Spear. But just before
the two mercenaries can inflict more damage with a Conchairto, attention is drawn to the big screen as we finally discover
the identity behind the mystery videos…….Y2J Chris Jericho!! Jericho then provides the distraction as Batista
gets back to his feet and clears the ring!! As the highlights end, we then roll to the opening credits to the theme song ‘Enemy’
by Fozzy.
As the show goes live to the world amidst an explosion of pyro and light, the cameras pan around the sold out arena as
the crowd is awash with replica t-shirts and signs of all the Infest superstars.
‘WAR!’ The crowd get to their feet as the ‘War Machine’ Rhino makes his way down to the ring, picking
up a mic as he enters. “Scott Steiner……last week you stood out the back bitching and whining.....complaining
about how life was treating you bad right now. Then I told you that you need to shut up and get on with it. You had to get
back in the ring and beat somebody’s ass to get yourself back on top. I told you that when you get the balls……then
come find me. Well here I am Scott……just like you I want to get things back on track.....and i am ready to fight
to do so……are you?”
*SIREN* At that moment the music hits and Scott Steiner comes out onto the stage wearing jeans and an Infest t-shirt. He
stops to flex his muscles before making his way to the ring, grabbing hold of a mic as he enters. “Rhino…….last
week you made the biggest mistake of your life when you decided you could take to me like I was a piece of crap. You see…..in
case you have spent the last few years hiding at the bottom of a beer bottle……..I have made a career out of breaking
punk’s like you and putting them in the hospital. Now I don’t know what happened to make you think it was a sensible
thing to do………but I can tell you right now…..that it wasn’t!!” Rhino then takes a moment
before replying. “Threats huh? That’s a bit more like it. But how about you stop talking…….and back
up your words with actions!!” With that he drops the mic as does Steiner, and the two then stand head to head talking
trash, when Steiner pushes Rhino and connects with a hard right. Rhino though comes back with a hard shot of his own as the
two men start to brawl. As they exchange blows, security pours down the ramp and into the ring, doing their best to try and
pull the two apart. Just as they think they have, Steiner breaks through and goes on the attack, before being pulled back.
Then it is the turn of Rhino to break through and continue the fight before he is pulled back, with the security eventually
getting things under control.
We then join the ‘Professor’ Mike Tenay and JBL at ringside. “Folks, welcome to the latest edition of
Infest…..and what an explosive start to the show as temperatures run high between Rhino and Scott Steiner. But speaking
of explosive….let me remind you of last week……when we witnessed the debut of Chris Jericho….coming
to the aid of Batista following a well laid plan by Robert Roode and Edge!!!” “That wasn’t explosive Tenay….it
was scandalous that someone could just walk off the street and get himself involved in the Champion’s business!!”
“Never the less, tonight in that very ring….I will bring you the first exclusive interview with Y2J…Chris
Jericho!! Plus tonight we have the ‘Fallen Angel’ Christopher Daniels in action against Carlito….and Jay
Lethal and Sonjay Dutt will once again compete in tag team action against a team to be announced by General Manager Shane
McMahon.” “and after Kazarian stuck his nose in other people’s business last week, James Storm has a chance
for revenge tonight when they go one on one!!!” “It is set to be an entertaining night John, so let us delay no
further!!”
Backstage we see Christy Hemme enter the General Manger’s office. “Mr McMahon, you have requested this time
to speak to everyone, but what we all want to know, is does it concern the opponents for Jay Lethal and Sonjay Dutt tonight?”
“As a matter of fact it does Christy. You see, Lethal and Dutt are still unable to find a partner and with Destiny just
nine days away, I think they need all the practice they can get. So tonight I have hand picked a pair that will be a real
challenge…..a pair that have teamed once before……and after tonight they will once more next Sunday live
on PPV……at Destiny. Tonight it will be Jay Lethal & Sonjay Dutt versus Robert Roode…..and World Heavyweight
Champion Edge!!! And as for their opponents for Destiny…..well we will just have to wait and see. And while I am thinking
about Destiny…..I have come to the decision that if Scott Steiner and Rhino want to fight…..then they can earn
me money doing it.” “That’s some huge news Mr McMahon….I will go spread the word!!” She then
starts to leave but is cut off. “One more thing Christy. When Batista arrives….could you tell him to come see
me.” Christy agrees and then makes her exit.
Christopher Daniels w/Raven vs. Carlito
With Carlito in the ring, Daniels is then lead down the ramp by Raven, decked out in a white suit and matching top hat,
the bottom half of his face covered by a black skull mask. The match gets going pretty quickly, with Carlito looking to make
up for last week’s defeat. But it is Daniels who takes the early advantage, whipping Carlito into the ropes and taking
him down with a jumping leg lariat. Daniels continues to control the early going, using his vast ability to stay on top, until
Carlito takes the low road and rakes the eyes, before dropping Daniels with a springboard elbow. Carlito then slows things
down, working the back of Daniels in preparation for the Back Cracker. But eventually he whips Daniels off into the ropes
and Daniels comes back to connect with the STO. Daniels then pulls himself back into the match and comes close to making Carlito
tap in the Koji Clutch. Eventually Carlito gets off a cheap shot and goes to pick up his apple. Then with ref Nick Patrick
tending to Daniels, Carlito takes a bit of the apple. But Raven then gets onto the apron and connects with a kendo stick shot
to the back, causing Carlito to spit out the apple. Then as Carlito stumbles round, Daniels connects with a boot to the gut
and then the Angels Wings for the victory.
We are then shown a promotional video for Immortality with the following voice over: “In the world’s greatest
arena, Madison Square Garden; with the worlds most elite superstars from Universal Championship Wrestling; millions of fans
around the world will tune in……..Sunday March 30th………as Meltdown and Infest seek
to reach…..Immortality!!”
Backstage we see Christy Hemme standing with Robert Roode and World Heavyweight Champion Edge. “Guys, In a few minutes
you will be competing against Jay Lethal and Sonjay Dutt…..before the two of you team once more at Destiny against an
unnamed pair. But tell us just how the two of you have come to be allies?” Roode is the first to step forward and speak.
“Christy…..everyone knows that Robert Roode is a top business man…..and what you see here is the perfect
piece of business. A couple of weeks ago we teamed together and the result was as could be expected.…a win. We both
top stars….two champions such as ourselves to work together. That is why at Road 2 Glory I did what I did…..that
and the fact that Chris Harris had to learn that you don’t disrespect me.” Edge then takes over. “Batista….you
said that until now you had been distracted….but now your focus is on me. Well my focus is on you two…..and that
can only be bad for you. I told you I had a message to deliver…..and thanks to our master plan last week….I delivered
it loud…..and clear. Now tonight we have ourselves a warm up…..and when we are done beating these two nobody’s….then
we will move on to another victory at Destiny. So I suggest you take this time to reflect….because once that business
is out of the way…..then you are in for five weeks of hell….culminating in the most embarrassing night of your
life on the grandest stage of them all.” Roode then finishes off. “But it won’t just be Edge coming for
Batista……it will also be me. You see what you are looking at here is perfection………we aren’t
a pair of Outsiders…….we aren’t some whiny ass Mexicans……..we aren’t two fat has-beens
who get their rocks off hitting tables….and we certainly aren’t Degenerates. What you are looking at here………is
Rated Roode!!!” With that the two men smirk and then leave.
Rated Roode w/Ms Brooks vs. Jay Lethal & Sonjay Dutt
The match is entertaining from the start, with the cockiness exuding from Edge and Roode. But the early advantage goes
to the young high flyers as Lethal and Dutt sending their opponents packing to the outside with a double drop kick. They then
stay on top, with Lethal taking Roode down with an arm drag, before doing a cart wheel into a drop kick. Edge doesn’t
fair much better against Dutt, whose pace keeps him one step ahead of the champion. But things change when Dutt hit’s
the ropes only for Ms Brooks to grab his foot. Then as he turns round, Roode catches him with a heavy clothesline on the apron.
Roode and Edge then slowly work over Dutt, keeping him isolated from his partner. But eventually he makes the tag, and Lethal
comes in to clear the ring. The X Division stars then start to gain momentum, until the Motor City Machineguns come down to
ringside, and their presence provides enough distraction for Edge to hit the Spear on Dutt and pick up the victory. The Guns
then mock Lethal and Dutt as Edge and Roode celebrate.
Backstage we see Christy Hemme standing with Kazarian. “Kaz, coming up in just a few moments you take on James Storm
in one on one action….but can you tell us why you choose to come to the aid of CM Punk last week?” “Christy……in
this business it is hard to get ahead…….to be given a chance. Sometimes you just have to reach out and take one.
Last month I earned the prestigious chance of competing in the RTG Challenge…..but it was taken from me after a cheap
assault by Scott Steiner. For me that was a career low…..and it made me realise that it is time for me to step up my
game…..or I may as well just get the hell out. Last week I made my choice……because CM Punk is an inspiration
to me. He has proven what can be achieved when you work hard…….and that is the model I plan to work by. Last week
I showed I had Punk’s back…..and I showed that I will no longer sit back and be a bystander. Tonight I start fresh…..and
James Storm is the unfortunate who will suffer first!!” With that Kazarian makes his exit as Christy is ready to hand
back, when she is approached by Batista, dressed in an Armani suit and sunglasses, a kit bag over his shoulder. “The
guys on the door said you were looking for me?” “Yes….yes I am. Mr McMahon has requested to see you as soon
as you arrived….so I’m guessing that would be now.” Batista pauses for a moment, “He wants to see
me? This better be good!” With that he adjusts the back and thanks Christy before walking off.
James Storm w/ Jackie Moore vs. Kazarian
With both men in the ring, they are set to go when……
‘TICK TOCK, TICK TOCK!’ As the crowd jeer, MVP then comes out onto the stage, dressed in a suit and laden with
bling, he strikes his pose before making his way down the ramp and taking a seat at the announce table as the match gets underway.
The match is a gripping one, with Kazarian clearly keen to prove himself to the Infest faithful. Kazarian dominates the early
going, connecting with some stiff kicks before hitting the ropes and taking Storm down a jumping heel kick. His momentum continues
until Jackie Moore climbs onto the apron. Then as Kazarian tells her to get off, Storm attacks him from behind with a clubbing
blow before rolling him up for a two count. Storm then continues to work over Kazarian, but with the crowd getting behind
him, Kazarian rallies back. Then after some close falls for both men, Storm has Kazarian down from his tornado DDT out of
the corner. He then walks over to Jackie and she hands him his bottle of beer. But this is seen by Charles Robinson, who is
swift to pull the bottle out of Storm’s hand. Irate, Storm protests but then spots Kazarian getting to his feet. He
then launches with a Superkick, but Kazarian ducks, then as both men turn Kazarian connects with a kick to the midsection.
He then connects with the Back To The Future followed by the cover to pick up the win. But as he celebrates, MVP gets up from
the announce table and rolls into the ring. Then as Kazarian turns round, MVP takes him down with a hard clothesline. He then
starts to put the boot in, and is soon joined by a woozy Storm. But as the two on one gets more intense, the crowd let out
a cheer as CM Punk charges down to the ring, rocking both men with stiff knee shots before scattering them to the outside.
MVP and Storm then regroup on the outside as Punk tends to Kazarian.
Backstage we then see Christy Hemme standing with standing with X Division Champion AJ Styles by the X Division locker
room. “AJ…….in nine days at Destiny you could find out your opponent for your X Division Championship at
Immortality……are you worried about who it could be?” AJ looks a little confused. “Worried…..why
would I be worried? Jay and Sonjay can’t finds a partner which means it is automatically a handicap match. And when
I pick up the win……..then that will be five guys all ruled out of facing me at Immortality. What could I possibly
be worried out?” “But even if your team win….if either Chris Sabin or Alex Shelley get the pin…then
they will take the spot at the biggest show of the year.” “That’s not going to happen. We made a deal….and
that deal means that I will be the one making the pin. Why? Because I…..am simply…..phenomenal!!” With that
he kisses the championship and walks off. But Christy’s attention is then drawn to the locker room door as it opens,
and the shadowy figure of Raven steps out. “Raven…..what were you doing in there?” Raven looks at her for
a moment, before turning away and making his exit as a confused Christy hands over to Mike Tenay.
We then join Mike Tenay and JBL at the announce table. “John….if AJ believes that Shelley and Sabin will just
stand back and let an opportunity to compete at Immortality slip through their fingers….then he is in for a rude awakening!”
“Tenay it doesn’t happen often…..but I have to agree with you. AJ Styles may be on a team of three….but
when it comes to getting the win….he is fighting five other guys.” “Now folks…..wait….I am receiving
word of a commotion in the parking lot….can we get a camera back there?”
We then cut to the parking lot where we see Rhino on the floor by his car, with Scott Steiner putting the boot in. He then
pulls Rhino up and sends him crashing head first into the side of the car, causing the ‘War Machine’ to fall to
the floor holding his neck in again. But Steiner isn’t done as he clamps Rhino in the Steiner Recliner until a host
of security, referees and road agents arrive to pull him away, but the damage is already done as we return to the announce
table.
“My god…..the viciousness of Scott Steiner. Could he not wait nine days until Destiny?” “What we
saw was pure frustration Tenay. And coming from the man with the largest arms and the shortest fuse in wrestling….I’m
not surprised.” “Well if we can get back on track I have received some major news from Shane McMahon’s office,
stating that at Destiny we will see James Storm and MVP team up to take on CM Punk and Kazarian. That should be a hell of
match, and both teams will be in action next week I am told. Plus next week is deadline day for Jay Lethal and Sonjay Dutt
to find a partner, otherwise it is a handicap match they will face. And will we discover the identity of the opponents for
Rated Roode……questions that need answer folks. But now it is a moment I have been looking forward to just as much
as you have….because I get to step in the ring with a man I have known for several years…..Y2J Chris Jericho!!!”
We are then reminded that the next time UCW is live on PPV, Meltdown and Infest combine to bring you Destiny, Sunday 24th
February 2008.
We then return to the ring in which Mike Tenay now stands. “Ladies and gentleman….….it is my pleasure
at this time to introduce to you a man who has competed for the biggest companies in this industry……a man who
has competed world wide…….the man that introduced us all to Jerichoholism………Y2J….Chris
Jericho!!!!”
‘BREAK THE WALLS DOWN!’ The crowd then rise to their feet as Jericho appears on the stage with his back to
the ring, carrying out his trademark entrance. As he then makes his way to the ring we see he is wearing jeans and a Fozzy
t-shirt, picking up a mic as he enters. “Chris….may I be the firt to see welcome back to wrestling….and
welcome to the newest adventure in your career….UCW!” “Mike thank you……but I have a welcome
of my own.” Jericho pauses for a moment and looks around the crowd before talking. “Welcome……to……Infest…..is
…..Jericho!!! Now I know what you are all thinking……could this be? Is it true? Am I dreaming? Is he really
back? Well the answer is simple……..YES. The Sexy Beast is back baby!!!” “Chris……our affiliation
goes a long way back to the days of WCW…..and I must say it is a major coup for us to have you here on Friday nights.
But the question we have all been dying to ask is why have you come to UCW, and more so why did you choose Infest?”
“Mike…..my decision w…..”
‘YOU THINK YOU KNOW ME!’ Jericho is then cut off as the music hits, and World Heavyweight Champion Edge comes
out onto the stage accompanied by Robert Roode. The two then make their way down to the ring and Edge grabs hold of a mic
as they enter. “You didn’t think we would forget about you did you Chris? You didn’t think we would just
let it slide that you interfered with our business last week did you? For us….it doesn’t matter why you chose
Infest…..because the simple fact is that you won’t be here to long….say another five minutes and then you
will be just a blip in UCW history.” Jericho cracks a smile and then replies. “You know I have been gone two years,
and hardly a thing has changed. But there is one difference. You see the last time I was in this business, Edge you were teaming
with guys like Christian….Rey Mysterio….Eddie Guerrero and even Hulk Hogan. But now look at you….I mean
just who is this guy?” Furious at the comment, Robert Roode grabs hold of the mic. “Who am I? This isn’t
the year 2000 Chris…..this is no longer your prime. You see while you sat at home failing to become a rock star…..I
was making it big in the business world. While you sat at home failing to become a movie star….I was working my ass
off in this business to become the star that I am today. I am a champion….a pure thorough-bred. You see this is 2008
Chris….and it is the time for Robert Roode. In fact…..in 2008 the real question would be….who the hell is
Chris Jericho!!” Jericho almost starts to laugh as he paces a little. “Who am I? Well in my time I have been known
as the Millennium Man……..the Ayatollah of Rock & Rollah…..Y2J…..Sexy Beast…….the list
goes on and on! But there is a new name I could go by…..one I think you would appreciate Bobby……..the man
who bitch slapped you on national television!!!” With that he connects with a hard right that rocks Roode, before then
quickly turning and connecting with one to Edge. He then ducks a wild swing from the Champion before connecting with some
stinging chops that back Edge into the corner. He then mounts the turnbuckle, only for Roode to catch him from behind with
a clubbing blow to the back. Then as Jericho drops down, Roode takes him down with a powerful clothesline. He is then joined
by Edge who tells Roode to pull Jericho up when…….
‘I WALK ALONE!’ The arena then explodes as Batista comes charging down the ramp, sliding into the ring. Edge
and Roode then go on the attack, putting the boot in. But Batista powers to his feet and rocks both men with some hard rights,
before taking them both down with hard clotheslines. Then as Edge stumbles to his feet by the ropes, Jericho, back to his
feet, charges across and takes him over the top rope with a clothesline. Meanwhile Batista stands in wait, and as Roode gets
to his feet, the ‘Animal’ hit’s a devastating Spinebuster. Batista then violently shakes the ropes and pounds
his chest as Edge pulls Roode out of the ring. The number one contender then picks up on4e of the mic’s. “It’s
typical….as soon as the numbers are fair you turn tail and run. But make the most of it…because at Destiny the
official word is that you will be facing Chris Jericho…..and his tag team partner…Batista!!!” With that
he drops the mic and beckons them on, as Roode and Edge look shocked on the ramp as we go off the air.
