INFEST (11/07/08)
Before the show gets underway, we are shown highlights from last week new Interim General Manager Jeff Jarrett tells Robert
Roode that he will defend his Number One Contendership at Revolution…against the Icon Sting….before hen booking
him against john Cena that night. Christopher Daniels picked up a singles victory, and then announced that he was cashing
in his MITB briefcase at Revolution for an X Division Championship match….and that it would be Ultimate X! AJ later
accepted this fate, and issued a challenge for Daniels to face Tomko this week. Batista beat Snitsky as he prepares to face
Kane at Revolution, but Kane refused to reveal what the stipulation would be. Chris Jericho welcomed MVP back on a special
Highlight Reel, and after revealing several pranks he had played, Jericho revealed his true frustration as he left MVP laying
with the Code Breaker. And in the main event, John Cena looked in control against Robert Roode until the Christian Coalition
got involved and a four on one bat down ensued. But the Icon Sting then repelled from the rafters and sent the four packing
to the delight of the sold out crowd. As the highlights end, we roll to the opening credits to the theme song ‘Enemy’
by Fozzy.
As the show goes live to the world amidst an explosion of pyro and light, the cameras pan around the sold out Infest Asylum
as the crowd is awash with replica t-shirts and signs of all the Infest superstars.
We then join the ‘Professor’ Mike Tenay and JBL at ringside. “Folks, welcome to the latest edition of
Infest…live right here in the Asylum. And with Revolution just nine days away, we continue to ride the rollercoaster
to the PPV. I can tell you that tonight MVP will be in action for the first time since his return from his trip…..and
he will face an opponent chosen by none other then Chris Jericho!!” “That’s just absurd Tenay….has
Jericho done enough already? I demand for that to be changed.” “I don’t think anyone is listening John.
But moving on, tonight you will see part one of a sit down interview I held earlier this week, with CM Punk.” “There
is some good news Tenay, because Christopher Daniels foolishly accepted the challenge put to him last week…and now tonight
he faces Tomko in what could be the last match of his career once Tomko is through with him.” “Plus on this action
packed night, we have X Division action as we prepare for the Kevin Nash Invitational X Cup….plus Sting has requested
some time to speak, and World Heavyweight Champion Batista continues his preparation for Revolution as he takes on Big Daddy
V. But John, one thing that is bugging me…can you explain why we have a steel cage suspended above the ring?”
“Tenay…I wish I could….but I have no clue.”
Petey Williams w/ Scott Steiner vs. Shannon Moore
‘BIG SEXY’ With both men in the ring the music hits and Kevin Nash makes his way down the ramp to take his
seat at the announce table. “Big Kev, welcome as always…..just how are the X Cup preparations going?” “Mike…I
have two big announcements to make. The first….is that i have spoken to Jeff Jarrett…and I can tell you that the
winner of the X Cup will earn themselves an X Division title shot. And the second announcement…is that the X Cup will
begin in two weeks time, on the first show after Revolution!!” “That is some big news Kev, and a big incentive
for the guys who will compete!” In the ring, the action is quite fast paced from the off, as Petey looks to try and
prove himself to Steiner, with his new look being the first step. Petey takes control early over the GWA Competitor, using
his mixture of speed and power to work Moore over. We even see glimpses of Steiner, as Petey connects with a back breaker
and then does press-ups, before flexing his muscles. More though makes a good go of it, looking to prove himself in hope he
will be involved in the X Cup. But in the end it is Petey who comes out, connecting with his devastating Canadian Destroyer
for the victory. Steiner then applauds as the Definition of Definition finally gets a win on the board.
Backstage, we see Christy Hemme standing with MVP. “Montel, you spent a month travelling around the world trying
to ridicule Chris Jericho and his career….and then when you returned last week…many say you got what you deserved.
Now tonight you face an opponent chosen by Chris Jericho….just what is on your mind?” “Got what I deserved?
Are you crazy? I was doing the world a favour….proving to everybody that Chris Jericho is a washed up joke who is undeservedly
in my spot. Yet I suffer that horrendous act last week…and not one single person complains? And now….I have to
face an opponent chosen by Jericho. Well isn’t that just great. But Jeff Jarrett….if you are watching this from
your office….let me remind you that I am the highest paid star in UCW….I am the future of this business….and
you need to start showing me some respect.” With that he shakes his head and storms off.
We are then shown a promotional vignette that informs us that UCW returns to PPV, live on Sunday 20th July 2008,
as Meltdown and Infest combine to bring you Revolution.
MVP vs. ?
‘BREAK THE WALLS DOWN!’ With MVP in the ring, Chris Jericho comes out onto the stage, a mic in hand. “Montel….when
I had to pick an opponent for you I thought it was going to be really tough….but it turns out that I am not the only
guy you have pissed off in recent months. There was one man in particular who was desperate to get a piece of you…..and
therefore my choice was easy to make!!”
*GLASS SHATTERS!* Jericho then stapes aside as the music hits and Sharkboy comes out, dressed in his usual attire with
a black leather waistcoat that reads ‘SHARKBOY 24/7’ on the back. He walks down to the ring with attitude and
as he enters, he scales the turnbuckle and gives the fin to the crowd. He then climbs down and stomps across to the opposite
turnbuckle and repeats this, before moving to the middle of the ring and removing his waistcoat. MVP starts to smirk at his
opponent before the two then lock up, with MVP pushing Sharkboy back against the ropes. But as he ltes go, he then connects
with a slap to the face and then turns to laugh in the direction of Jericho. But as he turns back, Sharkboy comes out of the
corner and connects with some hard rights that rock MVP. MVP then lunges with a clothesline but Sharkboy ducks it. MVP hit’s
the ropes and comes back, only for Sharky to take him down with a Lou Thesz press followed by a series of hard rights on the
mat. Sharky then gets to his feet and gives the Fin to the crowd before pulling MVP up and backing him into the corner where
he proceeds to stomp away. As the match continues, Sharky continues to look string until MVP cuts him off with a thumb to
the eyehole of his mask, and then a clothesline that takes Sharky down. MVP then starts to take control, working over Sharky
and making several pin attempts. He then slams Sharky down, before hitting the ropes and motioning ‘Ball in’ before
hitting a jumping elbow drop. MVP is shocked though at the new found resilience of Sharky, who starts to work his way back
into the match, dropping MVP with a jaw breaker. As the match progresses, it could go either way, as MVP eventually looks
to go for the Playmaker. But Sharky counters out of it and then connects with a kick to the gut, followed by hitting the Chummer
to pick up the shock victory. And with MVP down, and Jericho applauding on the stage, Sharkboy takes hold of a mic. “For
too long I have had my bass whooped all over UCW….but if you think that will continue….uh-uh. All you sons of
bitches out there be warned….all you’ve gone and done is piss ol’ Sharky off. Now coming up is the X Cup….and
if you want to see ol’ Sharky be entered so he can whoop somebody’s bass…give me a shell yeah!!” The
crowd then reply “SHELL YEAH!!!” “Kevin Nash….if you are listening….you better pick ol’
Sharky’s name out of the hat…because Sharkboy 24/7 is ready to whoop somebody’s bass. And that’s the
fishing line….cos Sharkboy said so!!” With that he climbs the turnbuckle and is chucked some clam juice which
he pours all over his mask.
Backstage we see Christy Hemme standing with X Division Champion AJ Styles and Tomko. “Guys….later on tonight
Christopher Daniels will face you Tomko, after accepting your challenge last week. But just what do you hope to achieve from
this match?” Tomko then steps forward. “What do we hope to achieve? That’s quite simple Christy…….I
plan to send Christopher Daniels to the hospital…so he ca forget all about his Ultimate X hopes. But don’t worry
Chris…we have already called an ambulance…so you won’t have to wait in pain long!!” “But last
week, AJ you were saying that you didn’t fear Ultimate X…so why are you hoping to take Daniels out of the game?”
“Why? Listen to me Christy…I don’t fear anybody…and certainly not Christopher Daniels who I have beaten
more times then I can remember. But if he can’t even make it to Revolution…then great. Because the way I see it….is
houldn’t be having to defend my championship….UCW should be holding a ceremony to honour the fact that I have
held this X Division Championship for a year. A year Christy…..more then any other champion in UCW. Has Batista held
the World Heavyweight Championship a year? No. Did Edge? LAX….Team 3D…Sting….Kurt Angle…and even the
oh so great Triple H…all champions….but none of them have been so for a year. I am Mr X 2007.……the
Prince of the X Division……Revolution is a time for celebration not fighting…..as we should all celebrate
the fact that I…am simply……phenomenal!!!!” With that they both leave.
We then hear the voice of Mike Tenay as he introduces the video of a sit down interview he held earlier this week in the
home of CM Punk. We then see the image of Punk and Tenay sitting in a games room in the house of Punk. “CM Punk, first
of…thank you for inviting us into your home to carry out this interview.” “No problem Mike.” “Now
Punk, UCW has been going string for a year now, and you have certainly played your part in the past twelve months. Can you
tell us….what has been the biggest highlight for you?” “Personally…or in general?” “Both
if you don’t mind.” “Well generally…..I would have to say Sting turning up here on Infest…..a
huge night for the show and one that won’t be forgotten in a long time. As for myself…..I would say competing
for the X Division Championship.” “Why is that?” “Well I love the concept of the championship….and
going head to head with AJ was a real good challenge for me. We may not like how he does things…but you have to respect
the fact that he has been champion for a year.” “I can’t disagree with that. Now for a fair part of 2008,
you were embroiled in an ongoing issue with ‘Cowboy’ James Storm…having started as unlikely partners paired
for qualifying for the RTG…things broke down between the two of you…and he took it to a very personal level by
attacking your beliefs in a straight edge life. How did you find this time?” “There were a couple of difficult
moments……..but that is wrestling. Having beer poured all over me was frustrating…and having a bottle smashed
against my skull certainly pushed me to the limit. But I responded in the right way…and that was by beating him in a
first blood match.” “And a great match it was…and after the video we saw on Meltdown this week, it was Storm’s
last match as an Infest superstar. But moving on…you mentioned earlier that your own personal highlight has been challenging
for the X Division Championship. With the upcoming Kevin Nash Invitational X Cup….have you put your name into the hat?”
“I have…..and if I get chosen then great….but if I don’t….then I just get on with business.
I have other plans…other hopes and dreams…and I hope to be able to fulfil them here on Infest……”
With that the image fades away as we see the following text appear ‘To Be Continued Next Week….” With that
we hear the voice of Mike Tenay once more. “Folks….tune in next week for the rest of the interview…..as
we discuss working with John Cena…..consistency…and his hopes for the future.”
‘MY TIME IS NOW!’ The arena then erupts in cheers John Cena appears on stage. He salutes the crowd and then
makes his way down the ring, taking hold of a mic as he enters. “It is plain to see that the Asylum is alive and kicking
tonight!!! Now I have asked for this time to speak because I have spent sometime thinking and I have come up with an idea.
You see…at Revolution I will be facing Christian Cage one on one. On that same night….Sting will be facing Robert
Roode for the Number One Contenders spot. But despite our issues being completely separate….our paths have still crossed
over the past two weeks. Now I have respect for Sting….and I like to think he has respect for me….and I certainly
noticed that every time the two of us have stood together in this ring…the Asylum has been electric. Now with that said,
at Revolution we each have our own business……but before then there is still one more night of Infest….next
Friday live in the Asylum. So here is what I suggest. Christian….Bobby….if the two of you can fit your giant egos
into one corner….then how about the two of you team up to take on me…..and the Icon Sting!!!!”
9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 At that moment the music hits and Christian Cage comes out dressed in jeans and an Instant Classic t-shirt,
a mic in hand as he makes his way down the ramp and into the ring. “Congratulations John….you have managed to
come out here and say your usual rubbish to get yourself a cheer from your fans….that is…if they haven’t
already gone to bed yet. Now I can tell you have though long and hard about this idea….but there is one big flaw in
it. You said for me to team with Robert Roode to take on you and Sting. But look around you John….I don’t see
any Sting. Not that I am surprised….but I thought you would have got your facts straight first. But with that glaringly
obvious issue pointed out….let me make a suggestion of my own. I say…why wait until Revolution…when the
two of us can get it on one on one next week!!!”
‘MONEY!’ The arena breaks out in more boos as Robert Roode comes out and down to the ring, dressed in a Gucci
suit, a mic in hand as he enters the ring. “Hold on one second there Christian. Now when it comes to beating a street
punk like John Cena…I don’t need a partner any more then you do. But you are missing an opportunity here. John
Cena has made a challenge to the two of us….and I say we accept….because there is no way Sting will make an appearance
next week.…and that will leave it in a two on one handicap match. You see John….when it came to picking a partner…you
should have thought about it a little harder…..instead of choosing an old man like Sting. Sting has had to work three
time in 14 days…..he obviously needs a break…..some time away to recuperate. So Christian…..if you want
your match at Revolution to be a little easier….then I suggest we accept the challenge.” Christian looks at Roode…then
turns and looks at Cena…as a smile creeps across his face. “You not what Robert….I like the sound of that.
But seeing as all these people want to see some action…how about we give them a taster right now!!!” With that
they both drop their mic’s and turn to face Cena, who pulls off his t-shirt and beckons them on…..
‘IT’S SHOWTIME!’ As lightning flashes through the arena, the crowd erupts in cheers as the Icon Sting
appears on the stage, his trusted black bat in hand as he makes his way down the ramp. As he gets to the ring and enters,
Christian and Roode climb out and regroup on the ramp, as Cena hands the mic to Sting. “What’s wrong boys……surprised
to see me? Were you expecting me to be at home with my feet up reading the paper? Well that just isn’t going to happen.
I feel alive....I feel hungry and I am ready to give everything I have here on Infest….and so to quote you Christian….if
you don’t know….now you know. Bobby…….if you don’t believe me….you will find out soon
enough live on PPV….at Revolution. But before then I hear a challenge was made for next week……and my name
was mentioned. Well John…..I will gladly be your partner next week against those two morons!!” With that he offers
his hand to Cena, and they shake. “So Christian….Bobby…..you better get yourselves ready…because next
week…IT’S SHOWTIME!!! Wooooo!” With that he drops the mic and points out to the crowd as Christian and Rode
back up the ramp.
Backstage we see Christy Hemme standing with World Heavyweight Champion Batista. “Batista…..later on tonight
you continue your preparation for Revolution as you face Big Daddy V…but do you really think this preparation will get
you ready to face Kane one more time?” “Christy…at No Remorse I had a night that would rather forget…..and
it was certainly not the performance of a champion. That is why I issued the challenge for Revolution. But I’m not stupid……I
know that I will be going up against a psychotic monster which strength.…power..and a hunger to cause damage. That is
why I am having this preparation. Guys like Snitsky….and Big Daddy V….they hare big guys…powerful guys….guys
missing something up here(points at his head) and are willing to cause as much damage as possible to get the job done. So
yes...I think it is worthwhile. And once I become the first man in UCW to beat Big Daddy V tonight….then I say give me
Kane…..and I will show him a true champion.” “Regarding your match at Revolution…Kane is choosing
the stipulation….but we are still yet to hear from him. Are you worried about what he might choose?” “Christy…what
ever he chooses…it will be something that will cause pain...cause suffering….but what ever he chooses...I plan
to make sure that the one in pain…will be Kane!!” With that he makes his exit.
Tomko w/AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels
With both men in the ring, ref Rudy Charles calls for the bell to start the match. Tomko then shoves Daniels causing him
to take a few steps back. Daniels then comes back with some forearms shots to the head of Tomko before looking for an Irish
Whip, but Tomko reverses it and then takes Daniels down with a clothesline. Tomko then grabs hold of Daniels and starts to
pull him up, but Daniels fires back with some shots to Tomko. He then runs and jumps onto the ropes into a springboard cross
body, but Tomko catches him, and then connects with a fall away slam. Tomko continues to dominate as Daniels struggles to
get the big man off his feet. Daniels tries everything he can think of, but Tomko just doesn’t seem to go down. And
it enables Tomko to take control of the match, working over Daniels to the delight of AJ. Eventually he sends Daniels into
the corner, but Daniels comes charging back out, looking for the STO. But Tomko stands his ground and tosses Daniels back
into the corner. He then charges in, but Daniels moves and connects with a drop toe hold that makes Tomko collide head first
with the top turnbuckle. Then as he stumbles out, Daniels connects with some forearm shots to the head. Tomko then aims with
a wild swing but Daniels ducks and hit’s the ropes, connecting with a jumping side kick that wobbles Tomko. He then
hit’s the ropes and again attempts the STO, but this time it is successful as Tomko finally goes down. Daniels then
starts to have some success as he does everything he can to try and put Tomko away. Eventually as the match reaches a close,
Daniels is trying to hook Tomko for the Angels Wings, as AJ gets onto the apron. Tomko though breaks free and then lunges
at Daniels. But Daniels moves and Tomko knocks into AJ. Then as Tomko stumbles back, Daniels rolls him up for the cover and
the three count. Daniels is then quick to roll out of the ring where he has his hand raised in victory, as a frustrated Tomko
gets to his feet and hurls abuse, soon joined by AJ.
We are then shown a video package detailing the Ultimate X, the design of the structure, how the match works and the rules
meshed in with clips of AJ and Daniels in action, all to the song ‘My Sacrifice’ by Creed.
We then join Mike Tenay & JBL at ringisde. “Folks, it has certainly been an entertaining night…and we still
have our main event to come. But first, we can tell you that next week Jeff Jarrett has confirmed that it will be Christian
Cage and Robert Roode teaming up to take on John Cena and the Icon Sting in tag team action!! Plus we will have more X Division
action in preparation for the X Cup, and you can see part two of my sit down interview with CM Punk.” “Plus Tenay,
Batista will be here…and I would believe that Kane should be too….as Batista will enjoy his last few days as champion!!”
“We shall see about that John. But as we move on to tonights main event….we can see that the steel cage is still
hanging high above the ring…..and I am none the wiser about why.” “That’s because you don’t
know the right people Tenay. Me on the other hand…I know exactly why it is there.” “Really…and do
you care to share?” “Normally I wouldn’t…but i think I should give you a chance to prepare. Once the
main event is over…..I have requested to face you inside that steel cage Tenay…how do you feel about that?”
“Ilook forward to it John……and I’m sure all these people would love to see you get beat by a guy like
me!! But that is neither here nor there…so let us get on with the main event!!”
Main Event
Batista vs. Big Daddy V
With both men in the ring, ref Charles Robinson is ready to call for the bell when V goes straight on the attack, catching
Batista from behind with some clubbing blows. He then whips Batista off into the ropes and takes him down with a huge shoulder
block. V then takes hold of Batista and goes to pull him up, but Batista fires back with some shots to the head. He then hit’s
the ropes and connects with a shoulder block, but V doesn’t go down. Batista repeats this again, but again V doesn’t
go down, and instead starts to laugh as he pounds his chest. Batista hit’s the ropes for a third time only for V to
take him down with a clothesline. Then with Batista down, V connects with some stomps before then pulling him up and whipping
him into the corner. V then folows in and connects with a crushing blow, as Batista then stumbles out of the corner. V then
connects with a head butt that takes the champion down. V attempts a pin, but Batista kicks out. V then takes hold of Batistaa
to pull him up, only for Batista to cut him off with some blows to the midsection. Batista then gets to his feet and connects
with a couple of shots to the head, before then hitting the ropes and connecting with a clothesline. V doesn’t go down,
but does stumble back onto the ropes. Batista then hit’s the ropes again, only for V to connect with a rolling kick
that takes Batista down. V then gets to his feet and hit’s the ropes before attempting a big splash, only for Batista
to move and V crashes to the mat. Batista then gets to his feet, and as V starts to get up, Batista powers in some shots to
the head that cause V to stumble back into the corner. Batista then grabs hold of the middle ropes and drives his shoulder
into the midsection of V. Batista repeats this several times and then V starts to stumble out of the corner, looking like
he might fall down. But he stays on his feet and aims a wild swing at Batista, but Batista ducks and pushes V into the ropes
before taking him down with a Spinebuster to a huge cheer from the crowd. Batista then starst to go on the attack, showing
his raw power as he unleashes the Animal on V. But V has been a tough opponent and continues to be, as he works himself back
into the match with a huge clothesline. Eventually, V is looking for the Eviscerator, only for Batista to fight out of it
with sme clubbing blows. V then lunges wioth a clothesline but Batista ducks it. V hit’s the ropes and comes back, only
for Batista to take him down with a huge Spear. Not fdone there though, Batista gets to his feet and starts to shake the ropes
violently, before signalling thumbs up…..thumbs down. He then pulls V uop into position, and shocks the whole Asylum
as he gets him off the ground and delivers the Batista Bomb. He then makes the cover and picks up the victory. Batista then
has his hand raised in victory and the Championship handed to him when suddenly the cage above the ring starts to lower. Batista
can then only stand and watch as the cage closes down around him when…….
‘THE FIRE STILL BURNS!’ There is an explosion of pyro and the arena becomes bathed in red, as the Big Red Machine
Kane comes out and down the ramp, coming to a stop just before the ring, which is now engulfed by the cage. Kane has a mic
in hand as Batista glares at him through the steel mesh. “Batista……..At Revolution……your flesh
will rip……your body will bleed……your bones will break…..and there will be no escaping me…..inside
this steel cage!!!” With that he drops the mic and starts to laugh maniacally before stopping abruptly. He then raises
his hands in the air and brings them donw as pyro explodes on al four turnbuckles, as suddenly the cage sets on fire. The
show then goes off the air with Kane on the ramp, and Batista stuck inside the burning cage.
