INFEST (09/11/07)
Before the show gets underway, we are shown highlights from last week as Shane McMahon tells AJ Styles that he will face
both Sonjay Dutt and Jay Lethal at Devils Night, only for us to later learn that in the beat down from the previous week Jay
Lethal was injured. So he instead chooses CM Punk to take his place. We see footage of a bar brawl between James Storm and
Chris Harris that leads to Shane McMahon booking them in a steel cage match at Devils Night, while Robert Roode picks up a
victory of Val Venis and a confrontation with Carlito follows. An interview with Batista turns into a brawl with Scott Steiner,
and Rhino stays one ahead of Edge just when Edge thought he had his championship back. As the highlights end we roll to the
opening credits to the theme ‘Enemy’ by Fozzy.
As the show goes live to the world amidst an explosion of pyro and light, the cameras pan around the sold out arena as
the crowd is awash with replica t-shirts and signs of all the Infest superstars.
‘YOU THINK YOU KNOW ME!’ The arena erupts in boo’s as World Heavyweight Champion Edge makes his way to
the ring, still minus his Championship. Once inside he snatches hold of a mic. “I want to know just what kind of company
this is? What kind of place promotes theft….what kind of place allows a man to run around with something that doesn’t
belong to him. I know Meltdown doesn’t…..because that show is run properly. Over there they respect their champions
despite the fact they are either immigrants or washed up has been’s. Over there you don’t see people disrespected
like I am being. I am the flagship of this show….I am the representative of Infest. I bring the ratings….I bring
the ticket sales....hell you are all here to see a true champion in the Rated R Superstar! But yet our General Manager is
allowing Rhino to run around with my championship….and refuses to do anything about it. The way I see things….if
that is the way he wants to treat his showpiece…..then perhaps I should give Jim Cornette a call…..”
‘I WALK ALONE!’ The arena then erupts as Batista, decked out in a Armani suit and sunglasses, makes his way
out onto the ramp and motions to his signature pyro before making his way down to the ring, picking up a mic as he enters.
Edge doesn’t seem to happy about the interruption. “What the hell do you want?” “Edge……you
talk about Meltdown….and you talk about disrespect.…and in the same breath you disrespect those that are on Meltdown.
Well let me tell you this…..if you went over there……..you wouldn’t last a day. But to be honest…..I
am surprised you have lasted so long here on Infest. But your luck can only last so long Edge…….and if……..if
you manage to survive past Rhino……….then I am going to be coming for you an….”
‘BEER’ Batista is cut off as boo’s appear from the crowd once more to greet the arrival of James Storm.
As he arrives at the ring he grabs hold of a mic and enters. “Batista…..what is your problem? Can’t you
see this man is suffering....and you are coming out here just thinking about yourself. I understand Edge’s pain. He
has Rhino trying to force him into a match he doesn’t want…..and I had Chris Harris force me into a match I didn’t
want at Devils Night. We have both been screwed here.….while you get all the fanfare and special treatment because you
are the new guy. Well I say you need to be welcomed to Infest properly….and introduced to how things work around here.”
With that Storm slaps Batista, knocking his sunglasses off. Batista takes a moment and feels his cheek, before unleashing
with some hard right to the head of Storm, rocking him back. But Edge kicks into action, catching Batista from behind with
some clubbing blows. He then tries to line him up for the Edgucution, but Batista pushes him off and rifles off some hard
rights to the head of the champion. But Scott Steiner charges down to the ring, and as Batista turns, he turns into a clothesline
from Big Poppa Pump. A three on one beat down then starts as the crowd jeer loudly, but the jeers turn to cheers as Chris
Harris and Rhino come charging down the ramp and into the ring. They then offload on the three men, scattering bodies around
the ring as Batista gets back to his feet. Then all three men send Edge, Storm and Steiner to the outside. Ten as they back
upon the ramp, Rhino picks up a mic off the mat. “Your seven days are up Edge….this is your last chance to hold
your championship….what do you say?” But Edge shakes his head and starts walking up the ramp as the crowd boo.
“Hold it right there Edge!” We suddenly hear the voice of General Manager Shane McMahon who appears on the big
screen. “Now seeing as some of you boys want to complain about me…and all you all see keen to fight..…I
have decided to book a huge main event that will give you all a chance to let off some steam ahead of Devils Night. Tonight
it will be a six man tag….with Edge, Scott Steiner and James Storm teaming up to face Rhino, Batista and Chris Harris!!
Have a good night boys!”
We then join the ‘Professor’ Mike Tenay and JBL at the announce table. “Folks welcome to the latest edition
of Infest, and we are just two days away from UCW’s latest PPV offering, Devils Night! And what a night that is lining
up to be, but first is tonight’s action packed hour and we certainly have some drama lined up.” “That’s
right Tenay. Later on tonight we will have three way X Division address hosted by none other then Kevin Nash!” “Controversial
to say the least! And from controversial to the bizarre. Earlier on this week I sat down for an interview with the ‘Fallen
Angel’ Christopher Daniels, and if the venue was strange enough, the man himself was even stranger. That will be shown
later. We will also see Robert Roode once again defend the Corporate Championship against a man he had called his ally, Carlito.
And as we heard moments ago, we have a huge six man tag team main event with Edge, Scott Steiner and James Storm taking on
Rhino, Batista and Chris Harris!! But before we get things moving, John I have to ask, do you know anything about the area
of reserved seating to my left?” “Tenay, I was about to ask you the same thing, I haven’t got a clue!”
“I’m sure we will find out, so lets wait no longer!”
Alex Shelley w/ Chris Sabin vs. Kazarian
The match is fast paced from the start with both men showing off their abilities as the action is back and forth. Kazarian
takes the early advantage, ducking a kick from Shelley and connecting with one of his own before grabbing Shelley by the head
and running up the ropes into a bulldog. Kazarian then seems to control things for a while until he hit’s the ropes
and Sabin grabs his foot, tripping him up. Shelley then takes advantage, going on the offensive mixed from a variety of styles.
The match eventually opened up and looked like it could go either way, until Kazarian looked for the Back To The Future, on
for Shelley to counter out and connect with the ShellShock, picking up the three count and the victory, which he celebrates
with Sabin.
But as this happens in the ring, there is commotion in the crowd as we see a host of bodies moving into the reserved seating.
There are several big guys and a few women all dressed up, who take seats. The last person to sit down in the middle seat
of the front row is none other then Montel Vontavious Porter….dressed in a Versace suit and bling. As he takes a seat,
he takes a look around before speaking to the person next to him as we hear Mike Tenay say “Montel Vontavious Porter…MVP….is
here on Infest…..and he is in the front row!!”
Backstage we see Jonathan Coachman walking down the corridor as he then enters the General Managers office. “You
asked to see me boss?” “Coach…..I wan…” But they are interrupted as World Heavyweight Champion
Edge bursts into the office. “Shane, what the hell is going on? Isn’t it enough that you are letting Rhino run
around with my championship….but now you have booked this six man tag match. I want answers….and I want them now.”
“Isn’t that ironic….you want answers yet you refuse to give one to Rhino. You want an answer, I will give
you one….the answer to the stipulation for your match at Devils Night. You see if you got off your high horse for one
second, you would realise what Rhino has been trying to do. He has been giving you the opportunity to back up your words….to
prove how much you value being champion. But instead you have chosen to be a coward, and now you may never hold the championship
again if you lose on Sunday. And as Sunday goes, you may have said no to Rhino’s stipulation, but the last time I looked
I was still the one who makes the matches….and that is a muscle I am going to flex right now. So at Devils Night it
will be you versus Rhino……in an All Out War street fight!!! Now get the hell out of my office!!” With that
Edge goes nuts, pulling at his hair as he turns to leave, shoving Coach into the wall as he makes his exit. Shane then turns
to Coach, “You to Coach!” “But boss, you calle….” “Get out!!” With that Coach slinks
away closing the door behind him.
We then join Christy Hemme, who is standing with CM Punk. “Punk, a bit later on tonight you will take part in an
address hosted by Kevin Nash, and then on Sunday at Devils Night you will compete in a triple threat match for the X Division
Championship. I must ask, it is not something you expressed an interest in before, so how are you approaching it all?”
“Christy, outside of the ring I live by the ethics of a straight edge lifstyle. Inside the ring I believe in having
a competitive nature and 110% workrate. So when Mr McMahon told me I was facing X Division Champion AJ Styles a few weeks
ago, my attitude was to just go out there and beat him. When Jay Lethal told me he had chosen me to take his place, my attitude
was to give it 110%. And when I face Sonjay Dutt and AJ Styles on Sunday, my attitude will be to walk out as X Division Champion….and
from then on it will be to be the greatest X Division Champion I can possibly be.” “And what do you think about
this address tonight?” “Who knows what Kevin Nash has planned, but the only way to find out is to be there when
it happens!” With that Punk makes his exit.
‘BIG SEXY!’ The music hits and Kevin Nash makes his way to the ring in which sits three stools and a microphone,
which Nash picks up. “Now I have asked for this address, because as the founder of the X Division I feel I should get
a few things of my chest to the three guys who will competeting for the Championship on at Devils Night. So guys….if
you could come down here please..”
The first music to hit is that of Sonjay Dutt, who makes his way down to the ring, shooting Nash an unfavourable look as
he takes a seat.
‘YEAHHHHHHHHH’ Next out is CM Punk, who too makes his way down to the ring and as he enters, spends a moment
eyeballing Nash befoe taking a seat.
‘EVERYDAY IN MY LIFE!’ The arena fills with boo’s as X Division Champion AJ Styles makes his way down
to the ring, proudly wearing the championship around his waist. As he enters he shakes hands with Nash before removing the
championship and holding it in front of Punk and Dutt as he takes a seat. “Now I have you all out here, I have a few
important things to say. “The first is an apology. I would liemto apologise to you Sonjay, and to Jay Lethal who I know
is watching…..for accepting money to have you attacked two weeks ago. It was a cowardly thing to do and for that I hope
you accept my humble apology. My second issue is one that has been playing on my mind for some time. Over these past few months
I have watched AJ Styles, our champion and the man continuing my X Division legacy, be persecuted by everyone on Infest. He
has been put in more matches then any other champion in UCW, everyone has been out to get him. And I can guarantee that is
what is et to happen again this Sunday. Sonjay and Punk, you have teamed together and your minds are set on how you are going
to beat AJ. But this is a triple threat match. AJ, come stand here for a minute.” With that AJ gets up and stands next
to Nash, the championship sitting proudl;y over his shoulder. “See this man. He may be the champion, but he is not the
only man you will be facing at Devils Night. You will also be facing each other. You seem to forget that in order to win,
you two have to beat the crap out of each other, not just this man here. So get your head out of the sand and realise that
it is every man for himself.” With that AJ takes hold of the mic. “Boys, you would be sensible to listen to Kevin.
Because if you want to have any chance of winning at Devils Night, it is going to be by beating each other, because there
is no way you will be able to beat me. Why? Because I am simply…..phenomen…” But before he can finish he
is cut off as Dutt gets from his seat and grabs hold of AJ by his t-shirt. But Punk pulls him back and then grabs hold of
AJ himself. But Dutt then pulls Punk back and the two start squaring up to each other as AJ and Nash make an exit, backing
up the ramp with big smiles on their faces as Punk and Dutt argue in the ring. Over the top we can hear Mike Tenay saying
“That was the plan all along John. Kevin Nash has deliberately played Punk and Dutt of against each other in hope it
will make AJ’s life easier at Devils Night!” As Punk and Dutt are separated by referees, we see that MVP is still
at ringside, pointing at the champion and making comments to the people either side of him who laugh.
Backstage we see Christy Hemme standing with Robert Roode. “Robert, coming up in just a few minutes you take on the
man you have had watch your back, Carlito, for the second time to defend your Corporate Championship. Two weeks ago you walked
out on the match, but what do you think about it tonight?” “Christy, putting me in this match with Carlito is
just a way of Shane McMahon trying to mess with me, just like it was two weeks ago. Generally I have no issue with Carlito,
he was one of the few men I trusted around here. But in our match two weeks ago he should me disrespect when he spat his apple
in my face….and I take that from no one. But tonight is another night, and Carlito when all is said and done I am happy
to still have your back and you have mine. But know this Carlito, when that bell rings I will do whatever it takes to walk
out still the Corporate Champion….and I guarantee that will be what happens. Because tonight, Carlito and all these
people who bought tickets will learn one vital lesson…..it pays……to be Roode!” With that Roode walks
off.
We are then reminded that the next time UCW is on PPV is November 11th as Meltdown and Infest combine to bring
you Devils Night.
Corporate Championship
Robert Roode w/Ms Brooks vs. Carlito
With Carlito already in the ring, Robert Roode makes his way down to the ring accompanied by Ms Brooks. As they enter the
ring, Roode stands in the middle as Ms Brooks undoes his robe to reveal the championship around his waist. She then removes
it and places it over her shoulder as she leaves the ring. As the match gets underway the two men lock up, with Roode using
his superior body strength to back Carlito against the ropes. As ref Charles Robinson separates them, Carlito connects with
a thumb to the eye and launches with a clothesline, only for Roode to take him down with a heavy clothesline. Roode continues
to dominate the early goings. But the tide changes when Carlito wriggles off the shoulder of Roode and drops behind him. He
then rakes the back of Roode before taking him down with a drop kick. Carlito then starts to take control, although Roode
is a hard man to keep down. Eventually Roode starts to fight back, and Carlito rolls to the outside, grabbing hold of Ms Brooks
to keep Roode away. But Roode just charges at them both, with Ms Brooks just able to get out of the way as Roode connects
with a clothesline on Carlito. The action then moves back into the ring and starts to go either way. Roode then looks for
his Roode Awakening, but Carlito counters with some elbows to the back and a neck breaker. As both men get to their feet they
exchange blows and Roode then swings wildly. But Carlito ducks and hit’s the ropes, springing off into a cross body.
Then with Roode down, Ms Brooks climbs onto the apron and starts to protest to Robinson, only for Carlito to move to the corner
and pick up his apple. He then takes a bite as Roode gets to his feet wobbly. Carlito then turns and spit’s the apple,
but Roode ducks behind him and the apple connects with the face of Ms Brooks instead. As she drops off the apron, Robinson
makes the decision not to DQ Carlito as Ms Brooks is not involved in the match. But Carlito is off guard from his mistake,
and Roode connects from behind with his Northern Lights Lariat. With Carlito dazed, Roode then pulls him up and delivers the
Payoff to pick up the three count and the victory. He then has his hand raised in victory, before making his exit. And with
Ms Brooks still trying to clear her eyes, Roode stands on the ramp holding his championship aloft as we hear JBL saying “Robert
Roode done what he had to to get the job done. When it comes to defending your championship….there are no friends in
this business!!”
With the match over, we see MVP sitting at ringside applauding the efforts of Roode, the man whose company are his agents.
He then speaks to his group and they all join in with the applause.
Backstage, we see Christy Hemme standing with Scott Steiner. “Scott, later on tonight you compete in a six man tag
main event, and then on Sunday you face the impressive force of the ‘Animal’ Batista. Are you prepared for that
explosive encounter?” “Prepared? Take a look at these arms Christy and then ask yourself if I’m prepared.
Beating the crap out of people is what I do, and that isn’t going to change anytime soon. I put Sharkboy in the hospital…I
put Christopher Daniels in the hospital……and I put John Cena’s career on hold for what could be a year.
The warning signs are all there and it’s Batista’s fault if he chooses to ignore them. Tonight will be his first
match on Infest, and Sunday will be his last match in UCW. And when I’m done beating his ass…….I will hit
the town and beat the ass of some of my freaks if you know what I mean!” With that he slaps the ass of Christy and makes
an exit. But as he leaves we see AJ walk past clearly on his way out. Christy goes after him. “AJ, AJ….can you
explain what happened earlier?” AJ then stops for a moment. “Christy….lets just say job done. And come Devils
Night…..I will walk out still the X Division Champion!!” With that he turns and starts to leave, when he is confronted
by Jay Lethal on his crutches. The two men then stare each other down, before AJ moves first, heading to the exit.
We then visit the announce table to hear from Mike Tenay. Folks, the footage you are about so see was shot a couple of
days ago when I met up with Christopher Daniels. Now I have been doing these interviews for some time, and this was quite
possibly the strangest I have had, just take a look for yourselves.”
As the footage starts, we see that the interview is being filmed inside a church, with Christopher Daniels and Mike Tenay
sitting on a church pew. We can see that Daniels has strange markings around his right eye. “Chris, first and foremost….how
is the recovery going?” “I am fine, my mind is focused….my vision is clear and for once I can see where
I am going.” “Right……and how do you feel about Scott Steiner at this moment in time?” “Part
of me feels loathing and hatred for him. Steiner crossed a line….an act that will lead to consequences mark my words.
But another part of me feels grateful…..because this time off has enabled me to make big changes in my life…..to
realise the direction in which I want to travel…….to discover…..him.” “Him? Chris I will be
honest….I have a hundred questions I could ask right now, ones I never expected I would want to ask. But I have to start
with why here…why meet in a church?” “Do you know how many times I have been here? More then I care to remember
Tenay. Everytime I would come here seeking answers….and every time I would leave with more questions. But today marks
a turning point in my life……for today is the final time I will step inside these walls. I have found the answers
I am looking for….outside these holy walls. He has shown me the way…..he has made me understand…..he has
given me purpose again.” Chris, the markings on your face?” “They symbolise a journey….a journey I
took in order to find my place in this existence. They symbolise my standing in the order of life….they symbolise that
which he has shown me.” “Chris, you keep mentioning ‘him’ and ‘he’ but who are you talking
about?” You have many questions…..but answers don’t necessarily come straight away. Patience is a virtue
you must embellish. But leave knowing that you can quote the ‘Fallen Angel’ that my return is immenant….and
those who have sinned in my absence must be ready to make payment for those sins. And that is neither a threat nor a promise……it
is the gospel according to the ‘Fallen Angel’.” With that the image fades away as we rejoin the announce
table.
“Folks, I just don’t know what to make of it. I know the concussion was bad, but something is inside that mans
head and I don’t like it. John……where are you going?” We then see that JBL is getting up. “Tenay
after that I think we all need a boost…so I’m going to go talk to MVP!” JBL then takes a mic with him and
walks to the corner of reserved seating where MVP is sitting. They shake hands before JBL speaks. “Montel…..may
I say it is great to see you here tonight. Can I take it you have signed a contract for Infest?” MVP then stands up
and adjusts his suit before speaking. “JBL….MVP has signed for nobody. As it stands I am still currently the hottest
free agent in professional wrestling. Tonight I am just simply taking a look around, getting an idea of what is on offer here.
But next Wednesday I will be going to Meltdown to see what they have to offer over there. At then of the day when the big
bucks come into play then I will start talking contracts. Both Shane McMahon and Jim Cornette know that if they want to sign
me, they have to spend big because they know like I know…..that I am better then everyone else!” With that he
takes a seat as JBL heads back to the announce table.
“Folks, our main event is upon us. But let me just remind you of the Infest card for this Sundays PPV, Devils Night.
We will see AJ Styles defend his X Division Championship against two men in the shape of Sonjay Dutt and CM Punk. James Storm
and Chris Harris will finally end their bitter war inside a 15 foot high steel cage. Two behemoths collide as Scott Stienr
takes on Infest’s newest acquisition Batista. And in the main event Edge defends his World Heavyweight Championship
against Rhino in an ‘All Out War’ street fight!!! But with that said it is time for tonights six man tag main
event!!”
Main Event
Six Man Tag Match
Edge, Scott Steiner & James Storm vs. Rhino, Batista & Chris Harris
As each man makes his way down to the ring, we see Rhino come down with the World Heavyweight Championship which he gives
to Lillian Garcia. Then with all six men in the ring, Senior Official Rudy Charles tries to gain some order as it is clear
which side the crowd is on. We then start with Edge and Rhino in the ring to everyone’s surprise. The two men then circle
the ring before locking up, with Rhino backing Edge against the ropes, causing Charles to separate them. As he does Edge connects
with a slap to Rhino, who holds his cheek for a moment. Rhino then launches at Edge, rocking him with some hard shots to the
head. He then attempts clothesline but Edge ducks and runs to his corner, tagging in James Storm. Storm then climbs through
the ropes and stands face to face with Rhino, before shoving him back. But Rhino comes back with a shove of his own and follows
up with some heavy rights, before whipping him into the ropes and taking him down with a heavy clothesline. Rhino then pulls
him up and twists his arm, before moving to his corner and tagging in Harris. Harris then enters and connects with a shot
to the exposed midsection and follows up with a couple to the head that rock Storm. He then twists the arm of Storm and drops
an elbow across it, before grabbing hold of him and whipping him into the corner. Harris then charges in but Storm moves,
scrapping his away along the ropes to his corner as Harris stops just before he hit’s the turnbuckle. Harris then goes
after Storm but Storm is able to make a tag to Steiner. Steiner then steps through the ropes and stands toe to toe with Harris.
Steiner then points to the corner saying he wants Batista, to which Harris obliges. With the tag made, Batista steps through
the ropes to a huge cheer as he is set for competitive action for the first time on Infest. Steiner and Batista then stand
face to face, before they both explode into a volley of exchanges of which Batista comes out on top. He then whips Steiner
into the ropes and takes him down with a clothesline that causes him to roll to the outside. Storm then enters the ring and
charges, but Batista rocks him with a hard right and then a clothesline. Edge then enters and looks set to charge, but as
Batista turns to see him, Edge stops in his tracks and changes his mind, climbing back through the ropes. But this has been
enough to enable Steiner to attack Batista from behind, clubbing him in the back before tagging in Storm. Storm then connects
with a boot to Batista before hitting the ropes, only for Batista to explode with a huge clothesline that crashes Storm to
the canvas. The action continues with the fan favourites on top, but the tide changes when Storm and Harris are in the ring.
Harris hit’s the ropes only for Steiner to grab his hair. Then as Harris turns to confront Steiner, Storm attacks him
from behind. Then with things in their favour, Edge is suddenly happy to tag into the match. They then dominate, using swift
tags to stay fresh as they isolate Harris in their corner. Harris tries to fight back on a few occasions, but every time he
is cut off. Eventually though, Edge is looking for the Spear when Harris moves out of the way, and as both men turn round
Harris drops Edge to the mat with a DDT. With the crowd behind him, Harris is able to finally tag in Rhino who comes in and
cleans house, first taking out Steiner and then Storm, leaving just himself and Edge. Edge then tries to fight, but Rhino
overpowers him into the corner. But before he can manhandle the champion anymore, he is cut off by Steiner. Stiner clubs Rhino
in the back and then whips him into the ropes, taking him down with a clothesline. But he failed to see the blind tag made
by Batista, and as he goes to pull Rhino up, Batista attacks him from behind. Edge rolls to the outside, and seeing Rhino
temporarily down, makes his way round to Lilliain. He then grabs hold of his Championship and starts to run up the ramp as
Rhino rolls out of the ring. Rhino then gives chase leaving us with four men. In the ring, Batista is standing in wait for
Steiner to get to his feet, when Storm catches him from behind with a chop block. Storm and Steinr then start to double team
Batista, before Steiner pulls him to his feet. He then holds him up and barks instructions to Storm who backs into the corner.
Storm then goes for the Superkick, but Batista moves and it connects with Steiner, knocking him down and out of the ring.
Realising he is alone in the ring with the ‘Animal’, Storm decides to make an exit. But as he leaves the ring
he is cut off by Harris who ricks him with some hard lefts, before rolling Storm back into the ring. Then as Storm stumbles
to his feet, he moves right into the path of Batista who takes him down with a earth shattering Spinebuster! Batista then
gets to his feet and starts to shake the ropes before pulling Storm up and positioning him between his legs. Batista then
signals thumbs up….thumbs down….before delivering the Batsita Bomb to Storm. Keeping him in a pinning position,
Charles then makes the three count giving the victory to Rhino, Batista and Chris Harris. The show then goes off the air with
Batista and Chris Harris having their arms raised in victory, while Storm is laid out in the ring and Steiner stagers up the
ramp.
