INFEST (19/10/07)
Before the show gets underway, we are shown highlights from last Sunday’s Doomsday PPV, as CM Punk picks up a strong
victory in the rubber match against Carlito. We also see AJ Styles once again escape with his X Division Championship after
a roll up and use of the ropes to steal the victory over Sonjay Dutt. John Cena’s quest for revenge turned into a nightmare
as he suffered an injury during the match, leading to his defeat. If that wasn‘t enough, Steiner then proceeded to beat
upon the injured hero, leaving him in a bloody mess. And in the Infest Main Event, Rhino pushed Edge to the limit, but Edge
was able to hold onto his World Heavyweight Championship courtesy of a freak count out. All this is to the Doomsday theme
‘Like Light To Flies’ by Trivium. We then roll to the opening credits to the theme song ‘Enemy’ by
Fozzy.
As the show goes live to the world amidst an explosion of pyro and light, the cameras pan around the sold out arena as
the crowd is awash with replica t-shirts and signs of all the Infest superstars.
‘YOU THINK YOU KNOW ME!’ The arena erupts in boo’s as World Heavyweight Champion Edge makes his way out
in his street clothes, before heading down to the ring and grabbing a mic as he enters. “Last week I gave Rhino the
opportunity to pull out of our match at Doomsday….to take some time off and clear his head….he turned it down.
Many people then told me that there was no way I was coming out of Doomsday with my championship…that despite the head
injury Rhino was to determined and resistant to pain. Well to all those who doubted…….I stand here in front of
you now….still your World Heavyweight Champion!! You see last Sunday I made a fool of Rhino. I took everything he had
and more……….and then I gave it back with full force. I beat Rhino within an inch of his life………..and
when I was done……it was my hand raised in vict….”
‘WAR!’ Edge is then cut off as the crowd rise to their feet and welcome the ‘War Machine’ Rhino
to the ring. As he enters, he is handed a mic. “Did I just hear you right? Now you have to excuse my hearing a little
what with all the blows I have taken to the head….but I could have sworn you just said that you took everything I had……..and
then you gave it back in full force….that you beat me with an inch of my life. Well seeing as you are a little hazy,
let me just give you a reminder. At Doomsday you won via a count out….and the only reason you made the count is because
I picked up your crumpled body and dumped it into the ring. And as for taking everything I had…” Rhino pauses
for a moment before stepping forward into Edge’s face. “You haven’t seen the half of it yet! So here is
what propose. Seeing how things ended at Doomsday….and how you clearly feel you can beat me no problem….how about
you put your championship where your mouth is and we do it one more time?”
*SIREN* Before Edge can respond the music hits and as boo’s break out once more, Scott Steiner makes his way to the
ring, a mic already in hand. “Rhino…..you come out here saying that you want another chance….that you didn’t
deserve to lose. Let me tell you something……nobody gives a crap. So for the first time in your life…why
don’t you take the advice of a man who has real talent….not the usual trash you have spent most of your career
in the ring with. My advice to you Rhino…..is to go out back and find someone to play in the garbage with…toss
around some trash cans and return to familiar territory…..and let the real men get on with things here in the ring.
You see you had your chance…..and now it is time for you flabby out of shape tub of lard you call a body to step aside……and
let Big Poppa Pump have his. In case you failed to notice……as Doomsday not only did I beat John Cena……..but
I broke him. You won’t be seeing him for a very long time thanks to me…..and that is why I deserve my shot.”
‘HERE COMES THE MONEY!’ At that moment General Manager Shane McMahon appears on the stage. “Hold it right
there all of you. Now the three of you can stand there all night flapping your gums…or you can back up your words with
actions. So here is what I have in mind. Tonight the three of you will compete in a triple threat match. If either Rhino or
Scott Steiner wins….they get a championship match at Devils Night. If Edge wins….then he gets the luxury of choosing
his opponent at Devils Night….and he can choose from anyone from the roster. And Scotty…..if I were you I would
hope you win tonight…..because if you don’t I have plans for you……because after what you did to John
Cena at Doomsday……..it is about time you got your comeuppance.” With that he makes his exit as all three
men stare each other out.
We then join the ‘Professor’ Mike Tenay and JBL at ringside. “Folks, we are just five days removed from
our latest PPV offering….Doomsday….and it certainly was a night we will remember for a long time to come. It was
a night of great action….but sadly it will be remembered for the injury suffered by John Cena. During his match he showed
clear signs that he was struggling with a shoulder injury, and although he battled on….it caused his undoing. But if
that wasn’t enough, the heinous attack carried out by Scott Steiner afterwards will leave a scar in the minds of many
Cena fans.” “Tenay, I have never been John Cena’s biggest admirer, but even I feel sorry for him right now.”
“Folks I can tell you that John Cena has suffered a complete tear of his right pectoral tendon. He underwent surgery
two days ago and will now prepare for rehab. But sadly it could be some time before we see him in a UCW ring again. We wish
him all the best in his recovery. But Cena is a wrestling fan and he would want the show to go on…and that is what it
will do. As we just heard there will be a huge Main Event tonight as World Heavyweight Champion Edge faces both Rhino and
Scott Steiner in a non title triple threat, with the winner becoming the number one contender. If Edge win…he gets to
choose his opponent. But that is not all, because we have another blockbuster non-title match as X Division Champion AJ Styles
goes one on one with CM Punk!” “Two huge matches Tenay, although I find it unfair the champions have to wrestle
just days after defending their championships. But let me just add this, tonight we will once again see Carlito’s Cabana….and
his special guest tonight……is our Corporate Champion Robert Roode!” “So with out further delay, lets
get down to the action.
Chris Harris vs. Basham
With both men in the ring, it is a tentative start following Harris’ gruelling Bull Rope last week. Despite this,
it isn’t long before Harris takes control of the match, being whipped into the ropes and coming back with a flying forearm
lariat. He then rocks Basham with some hard lefts before whipping him off and taking him down with a back body drop. As the
action continues, Basham finds a way back into the match but it is short lived, as a buoyant Harris fights back and eventually
picks up the win courtesy of the Catatonic. With the match over, Harris then asks for a mic. “Storm….last week
you and I slogged it out in this very ring…beating on each other with a Bull Rope until we could barely stand. Now….even
though I won that match….I am probably just as disappointed as you are Storm. You see I don’t want to beat when
I’m not conscious to know about it. For me, the taste of victory over you isn’t sweet unless I can see that glazed
look in your eyes. Unless I can see the blood pouring down your face as you realise that you are not the better man. So basically
Storm what I am trying to say is simple. November 11th…….Devils Night……..you and me one
final time!” With that he tosses the mic and makes his way to the back.
Backstage, we see Christy Hemme standing with Jay Lethal and Sonjay Dutt. “Guys, as it stands the two of you have
both had a shot at AJ Styles and the X Division Championship….and you were both unfortunate not to win. Now the news
from General Manager Shane McMahon is that next week the two of you will have to temporarily put your friendship aside as
you square off in a number one contenders match. Just how do you feel about that?” Dutt is the first to respond. “Christy,
last Sunday I pushed AJ to the limit….but it just wasn’t quite enough. But I’m not moping around….I
will learn from the experience. And I can guarantee that when I get my next shot….I will definitely take it. As for
having to face Jay for that shot….well the way I see it is win-win. Of course I hope I am victorious, but if I lose
out then I would rather it was to Jay.” Lethal then adds his thoughts. “AJ styles….for too long you have
been clinging onto the X Division Championship by your fingertips. You managed to escape against us once….but I doubt
you would be able to do it again. Up until now lady luck has been looking over you….but all that will change at Devils
Night. As for next week….it won’t be two best friends competing in the ring…..it will be two highly dedicated,
highly motivated and talented athletes. Something you can guarantee is that the match will be honourable….and the best
man will win. So Sonjay……next week….you and me…….we show the world what the X Division is all
about!” With that the two men shake hands before making their exits.
We then join Jonathan Coachman backstage as he is standing outside General Manager Shane McMahon’s office. “I
have been trying to get a word with Mr McMahon regarding his thoughts on the John Cena issue…..but ever since his address
at the start of the show he has been locked away in a meeting. What this meeting is about or who it is with I do not know…..but
I will stay here to try and find out.”
We are then reminded that the next time UCW is on PPV is November 11th as Meltdown and Infest combine to bring
you Devils Night.
‘I SPIT IN THE FACE OF PEOPLE WHO DON’T WANT TO BE COOL!’ As the crowd jeer Carlito makes his way down
to the ring, which has once again been prepared for his Cabana, with a hammock, deck chairs, palm trees and a basket of apples
all arranged the usual way. As Carlito enters, he picks up a mic. “Welcome to the latest edition of Carlito’s
Cabana!! Now ever since last Sunday at Doomsday….all I have heard about is John Cena. Well I for one am glad John Cena
is out injured. I am sick and tired of hearing his name…..of seeing his t-shirts in the crowd. What has he ever achieved
here in UCW? Nothing but failure. And that brings me to tonight’s guest. He is the complete opposite of John Cena. This
man is a winner….a success…..a true athlete. Not only has he dominated the business world……but now
he can proudly call himself a champion here in UCW. He is your Corporate Champion…….Robert Roode!!!”
‘MONEY!’ As the crowd once again jeer, Robert Roode makes his way down to the ring dressed in a flashy suit,
his hair tied back. As he enters the ring he unbuttons his suit jacket to reveal the Corporarte Championship sitting round
his waist, as he picks up a mic. “Robert, welcome to my Cabana. And may I say it is an honour to have a true champion
on my show at last! But before Doomsday you were told you will have to defend that championship, what do you think about that?”
“Carlito, from the moment I strapped this championship around my waist I knew the responsibilities that come with it.
You see i don’t look at Shane’s decision asa way to screw me over. I look at it as him secretly recognising the
true champion that I am. He doesn’t want to admit it……but he realises the talent he sees before him and
shows me the respect that I deserve. So if I have to defend this championship, then that is what I will do….because
there is no one on this roster capable of beating me for it. So I say whoever the first waste of space is to face me….let
them step forward so I can teach them the lesson everyone should learn…..it pays…..to be Roode!” “So
I gu….”
‘SOCIETY BOX’ Carlito is cut off as Christy Hemme appears on the stage. “Guys, my apologies for the interruption….but
before the show started tonight Mr McMahon instructed me to come out and deliver a message during this Cabana. Robert……..your
first defence of the Corporate Championship will take place next week live here on Infest. And your opponent for that match
will be……………….Carlito!!!! Have a good night gentleman!!” With that Christy returns
to the back. Meanwhile in the ring we see Roode looking up the ramp in anger, while behind him Carlito looks quite pleased.
But as Roode turns round, Carlito tries to act shocked. But Roode is having none of it, as he steps forward and glares at
Carlito. He then runs his hand across his championship and mouths to Carlito “It’s mine” before then making
an exit.
We are then shown a vignette that starts with the following message. ‘The Following Advertisement Has Been Paid For
By Robert Roode Incorporated!’ We then see that it is late at night in a run down looking street. There is garbage scattred
all over the flow, torn posters on the walls, doors hanging off their hinges. We can see the odd person lying on the pavement,
while a group of guys are gathered round a fire drum drinking. We then see MVP, wearing an Armani suit and lots of bling,
walk into view. “I know what you are thinking. You are thinking that this is the street I grew up on. This is the street
where I first learnt to fight because I had to. This is the street I still live on and hang around with boys for a night out.
Well you are wrong. I’m not a street punk…..I don’t slum it. Just look at these people….then look
at me. I grew up in a big house with big money earning parents and went to the best schools. I live in a house now that is
so big Hollywood it would take you three days just to see all the rooms. And as for hanging out with my boys…….well
I do that in style……in the top clubs…..with the hottest women…..and the Cristal flowing all nght long.”
He then turns a corner where we see a limo parked. He then opens the passeneger door and turns back to the camera. “Why?
Because I am M….V….P, Montel Vontavious Porter. And I……..am better then you!!!” Wuth that he
gets into the limo and it pulls away as the shot fades. The vignette then ends with the following message. ‘Montel Vontavious
Porter Is A Client Of Robert Roode Incorporated. ’
Backstage we see Christy Hemme standing with James Storm. “James last week on Infest you competed in a gruelling
Texas Bull Rope match….and lost. Then tonight we heard Chris Harris challenege you for one final showdown….what
do you have to say?” “Hold on there missy……I didn’t lose. What happened last week was a fluke….a
freak accident. The way I see it….I have nothing to prove. I have beaten Chirs….I have humiliated Chris and I
have shown just who was the better man in AMW. So Chris can challeneg me all he wants, but my answer is gonna be the same.
So sorry about your damn luck Chris….but the answer’s no!!” With that he takes a swig of beer and makes
his exit.
Non-Title Match
AJ Styles vs. CM Punk
With both men in the ring, AJ makes a point to hold his X Division Championship in Punk’s face, gloating that it
is his. As ref Charles Robinson then calls for the bell, AJ tries a sucker punch, but Punk ducks and then connects with several
of his own. He then whips AJ off into the ropes and takes him down with a jumping sidekick. As the action continues, Punk
is seemingly in control of the match, connecting with some stiff knee shots to the head followed by a u-hook powerbomb for
a near fall. But the momentum changes as AJ tries to pull himself up via the ref. As he does Punk grabs him from behind, but
with the ref blindsided, he fails to see AJ connect with a mule kick to the groin. AJ then takes a few moments before making
the cover, but Punk is some how able to get a foot on the rope. AJ then starts to work over Punk, showing the ability that
has helped him hold onto the championship, although Punk shows determination to keep trying to fight back. As the action continues
AJ hits a springboard flying forearm off the ropes for a near fall. But Punk is a fighter, and as AJ then launches off the
ropes for his springboard reverse DDT, Punk moves out of the way and then connects with a jumping kick to the head. As both
men get to their feet, and exchange of blows goes in favour of Punk, who follows up with some hard knees. He then hoists AJ
onto his shoulders looking for the Go to Sleep, but AJ is able to wriggle free and drop to the mat. AJ then rolls out of the
ring and picks up his Championship. Deciding he wants no more of Punk, he then backs up the ramp as Robinson has no chance
but to start a ten count. As he reaches ten, he calls for the bell to award the match to Punk via a count out.
Backstage we then see Christy Hemme standing with World Heavyweight Champion Edge and Scott Steiner. “Edge, in just
a few minutes you will compete in a number one contenders triple threat match, against not only the man who caused you so
many problems at Doomsday….Rhino; but also the man you brought in to help you…the man to my right Scott Steiner.
What is your game plan for tonight?” “Well that is simple Christy. Rhino may think he is walking into a triple
threat match….but really it is a handicap match. The way it goes is this….Scott and I beat the crap out of Rhino
until he can’t move anyone. Then when we have done that…I pick up the pin and go on to pick my own opponent for
Devils Night. Isn’t that right Scotty?” “So let me get this straight. You want me to help you beat the crap
out of Rhino….and then stand back and watch you make the pin? Well I say bulls**t. This match is a triple threat match….and
if win then I get a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship. There are only to things that really matter to me…..my
freaks…..and my peaks. But that Championship wrapped around your waist……that could make it three. See you
out there.” With that Steiner leaves as a worried look covers the face of Edge.
We then once again see Jonathan Coachman still standing outside the General Managers office. “I have been here all
this time, and no one has left or entered this office. The meeting still seems to be going on.” At the moment the office
door opens and Jim Cornette walks out, closing the door behind him. “Mr Cornette……what are you doing here?
What was that all about?” Cornette then glares at him. “Do I work here???? No!! So if you want to know what is
going on….why don’t you speak to your boss!!” With that he shakes his head and leaves as Coach knocks on
the door and enters, closing it behind him.
We then join Mike Tenay and JBL at ringside. “Folks, it has been quite a night so far, and we still have one huge
match left to come. But the question now on everyone’slips is what was Jim Cornette doing here tonight?” “Tenay…I
have no idea. But you have got to believe that when UCW’s two general Managers get together…something big is going
to come out of it!” “Well if we find out folks we will of course keep you up to date. But let me tell you about
what we have lined up next week. As we have heard tonight, there will be an X Divison Number 1 contenders match as Sonjay
Dutt and Jay Lethal, two best friends, go head to head. Plus Robert Roode puts his Corporate Championship ion the line for
the first time….against Carlito!!” “I’m disgusted about that Tenay. Roode and Carlito have each others
back…they shouldn’t be having to fight. It is just blatant discrimination from Mr McMahon.” “That
is next week, but now it is time to find out just who will face Edge at Devils Night for the World Heavyweight Championship.”
Main Event
Triple Threat Contenders Match
Edge vs. Rhino vs. Scott Steiner
With all three men in the ring, ref Rudy Charles calls for the bell to get the match underway. Rhino finds himself having
to fend off both men, rattling off hard rights first to Edge and then to Steiner. He then takes Edge down with a clothesline,
followed by one to Steiner. But as he then lines up Edge for a belly to belly suplex, he ic caught from behind by a shot to
the back from Steiner. Edge and Steiner then team up on Rhino, working him over with fluidity as there is nothing Charles
can do. Eventually Rhino is sent tumbling to the outside as Edge rubs his hands together. But he then turns round into a hard
right from Steiner, followed by another and then a clothesline. The action then becomes more even, with all three men working
each other over, each having their own flurry of dominance. In the end, Rhino is being held up by Steiner, as Edge primes
himself in the corner. He then charges with the Spear, but Rhino moves and the Spear connects with Steiner instead. Edge then
gets to his feet and turns only to be nearly cut in half by a hellacious Gore!!! Rhino then makes the cover and to the delight
of the crowd picks up the three count….a huge win over the champion. As Lillian Garcia announces Rhino the winner and
number 1 contender….the ‘War Machine’ rolls out of the ring and grabs hold of the World Heavyweight Championship.
He then heads up the ramp with it still in his hands as a struggling Edge can only watch on. With Rhino out the back and Edge
stumbling up the ramp, we see Scott Steiner getting up when….
‘HERE COMES THE MONEY!’ Shane McMahon then appears on the ramp. “Scotty…….hard luck my friend
you came so close. But don’t worry……all is not lost for you at Devils Night. You see thanks to your actions
at Doomsday….I have been locked away with Jim Cornette thrashing out a deal…..and I have managed to capture the
signature of a major main event star from Meltdown. And Scotty…..seeing as you believe you can beat anyone…..you
will get to put your money where your mouth is. You see next week you will sign a contract….and that contract will be
for a match at Devils Night against Infest’s latest acquisition…….so see you next week!!” With that
Shane leaves as Steiner hurls abuse up the ramp as the show goes off the air.
