INFEST 14/09/07

Before the show gets underway, we are shown brief highlights from last week as Scott Steiner sends Christopher Daniels from the building in an ambulance, the one he shared with Gail Kim who having picked up a win over Jackie Moore, was then struck over the head with a beer bottle by James Storm. Chaos reigned in the match between Robert Roode and Rhino as Carlito got involved ending the match in a DQ, before CM Punk made the save for Rhino. Jay Lethal gave AJ Styles a night to remember by ruining his self celebration, and Edge revealed that at Revolution he will defend his World Heavyweight Championship against John Cena in a TLC Match.

As the highlights end, we see Carlito standing backstage, an apple in his hand. “Tonight, Carlito once again hosts his world renowned talk show….the Cabana. And my guest tonight? None other then my good friend…..CM Punk. Now that……..that’s cool!” With that he takes a bite of the apple and then spits it into the camera as we roll to the opening credits to the theme song ‘Enemy’ by Fozzy.

As the show goes live to the world amidst an explosion of pyro and light, the cameras pan around the sold out arena as the crowd is awash with replica t-shirts and signs of all the Infest superstars.

We then join the ‘Professor’ Mike Tenay and JBL at the announce table. “Folks, welcome to the latest edition of Infest, and tonight we are just two days away from UCW’s latest PPV offering…..as Meltdown and Infest combine to bring you….Revolution!” “Tenay, in just to days we will witness the third PPV in UCW history, and if the previous two are anything to go by….then it is certainly not to be missed!” “Most certainly not John, and speaking of Revolution….tonight we get the ball rolling with one hell of a show lined up. We have General Manager Shane McMahon set to make an announcement regarding the PPV, while Jay Lethal and Jerry Lynn set out to send a message to X Division Champion AJ Styles as they take on the Motor City Machine Guns Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin!” “Plus Tenay, as we heard just now CM Punk will be the special guest on Carlito’s Cabana!!! Plus in a blockbuster main event, just two days before their huge one on one match-ups, ‘Cowboy’ James Storm goes head to head with John Cena!!!” “A massive match, and after what happened last week, James Storm must surely have one eye over his shoulder….although no one has heard from Chris Harris since last Friday Night. And as for Gail Kim, we can tell you she is recovering from severe cuts and bruising at home, and we wish her all the best. As we do with Christopher Daniels, who we have received word suffered a fairly bad concussion that could see him out for several months. But now it is time for action, so lets hand over to Lillian Garcia.”

Rhino vs. Damaja

With the two men in the ring, ref Nick Patrick calls for the bell and Rhino goes straight on the attack, clearly trying to exhume some frustration from last week as he unleashes on Damaja. Offloading with some hard rights, Rhino whips Damaja into the ropes and takes him down with a strong shoulder block. He then whips him off again and this time connects with a hard clothesline. As the match continues we see Robert Roode appear on the top of the ramp accompanied by Ms Brooks, who eagerly makes notes as Roode makes comments to her. In the ring, Damaja does his bets to put up a fight, but Rhino is a man on a mission, and it isn’t long before he hit’s the devastating Gore to pick up the victory. As Roode then mockingly claps on the stage, Rhino rolls out of the ring and heads towards him, causing Roode and Ms Brooks to make their exit.

Backstage we find ourselves outside of the General Manager’s Office with Jonathan Coachman, who knocks on the door before entering. “Boss, word has it you have an announcement to make regarding Revolution?” “Well word certainly travels fast round here Coach….but seeing as you are here….I might as well reveal it now. Having witnessed what has been going on these past few weeks here on infest, I have come to the decision that Infest’s fourth match at Revolution will be a tag team match. In this match we will hopefully see some issues resolved as Carlito and Robert Roode team up to take on CM Punk and the ‘War Machine’ Rhino!! And just to add a little extra spice, the man who picks up the pin fall in the match will become our next Number 1 Contender for the World Heavyweight Championship! Now if you will excuse me, I have some important people to meet.” With that Coach makes his exit as Shane gets ready to leave himself.

We then see Christy Hemme standing with Jay Lethal & Jerry Lynn. “Jay, in just two days time you get your shot at AJ Styles and his X Division Championship, but just how much have you learnt from Jerry Lynn?” “Christy, working with Jerry these past couple of weeks has been an honour for me. Despite what AJ thinks, no one has done more then Jerry to build the X Division into the spectacle it is today. Now I have faith in my abilities, always have…but working with Jerry has enabled me to enhance and tweak those abilities….and I am ready for Revolution!” “Jerry, do you think Jay is ready for the tough task ahead of him?” “Christy……I have watched guys like Jay, Sonjay Dutt, Kazarian and the like for the past couple of years…I have watched them grow and develop. From what I saw from Jay in the X Gauntlet….and the work I have done with him these past couple of weeks….I say that at Revolution you will be looking at a new X Division Champion. And the proof will be evident tonight….as we will beat the Motor City Machine Guns and send a message to the champ.” With that Jerry pats Jay on the back and the two leave, with Lynn seemingly passing on a few more bits of wisdom.

Kazarian vs. Stevie Richards

With Kazarian in the ring, he awaits his opponent Stevie Richards as his music plays, but there is no sign. Then as Kazarian turns to Lillian with a puzzled look, we see Richards come tumbling out from the back, falling to floor. Boo’s then ring out as Scott Steiner once again appears on stage, pulling up Richards and firing off a hard right that sends him tumbling down the ramp. As Richards stops at the bottom of the ramp, Steiner pulls him up and sends him crashing into the apron, before turning his attention to Kazarian. “You better get out of the ring boy, or I will f**k you up.” With that Kazarian makes a swift exit as Steiner rolls the limp Richards into the ring. He then rolls into the ring and fires in some more clubbing blows to the head of Richards, before pulling him up and hitting a belly to belly suplex. Steiner then grabs hold of a mic. “Shane McMahon, I hope you are paying good attention boy. Right now in this ring I am once again showing you the consequences of your decisions….as we do things the hard way. So bare witness as I put yet another of your roster in the hospital….and it’s all on your head!!” With that he drops the mic and puts Richards in the Steiner Recliner with Richards unable to respond.

‘HERE COMES THE MONEY!’ With that we see General Manager Shane McMahon appear flanked by security and local Police Officers. “I had a feeling you would turn up tonight Scott, so I came prepared. You see no matter how many times I kick you out of my building…the next week your buddy Edge seems to find a way to get you back in. Now I have thought long and hard about how I can deal with you, and the many options I have thought up just haven’t seemed convincing enough. Therefore I took a different course of action. Seeing as I had a feeling you would be here tonight, I asked if the local PD could supply some officers to assist me.” By now Steiner has let go of Richards and picked up the mic again. “Assist you with what? Whipping your ass…..or picking up your teeth after I knock them all over the floor?” “Cute Scotty, very cute. But seeing as you are a simple Neanderthal, I figured you may not understand. You see you are not a member of my roster….or UCW for that matter. Therefore every time you have laid a finger on one of my superstars…you committed an assault. Now I admait given the nature of this business the charges are thin…but they are enough to have your ass thrown into a cell for a night or two…..and get you out of my hair! So Officers if you please……arrest that man!!” With that the Police Officers make their way down to the ring accompanied by the security, as Steiner talks once more. “Shane, you know as well as I know that if I wanted to….I could leave these arseholes ina pile of their own blood….before walking up that ramp and snapping your neck with my bare hands. But I ain’t stupid…..so heed my warning. The hard way just became a lot worse……..and you will realise that you pissed off the wrong man in Big Poppa Pump. I will ruin your life….I will ruin the life of anyone on your roster until you have no choice but to beg me to sign a contract…you piece of shit!” With that he slams the mic to the mat as the Officers approach him and place him in handcuffs. Then with the help of security they lead him out of the ring and up the ramp, where he cuts a glare at Shane McMahon before being taken out the back.

We are then reminded that UCW returns to PPV action live this Sunday as Meltdown and Infest combine to present……Revolution.

Backstage we see Christy Hemme standing with ‘Cowboy’ James Storm. “James, last week your actions left everyone shocked and horrified as you took one of your beer bottle and shattered it against the head of Gail Kim. I don’t know how you can live with yourself.” “How do I live with myself? Simple…I don’t care. Gail was just a casualty of war…in the wrong place at the wrong time. I mean it’s her own fault really…she knows what I’m like and she knew what to expect when she got involved in my business.” “Tonight you face John Cena in our Main Event before you go to Revolution to face your former partner Chris Harris; and with Harris not being seen since last Friday are you not worried about his frame of mind and the consequences that could mean for you?” “You wanna know why Chris hasn’t been seen? Because he is scared. All these weeks you have all thought I was afraid, but I was just biding my time. And last week when Chris saw what I did to Gail, he realised there is no limit as to what I could do to him and it scared the hell out of him. So much so I doubt he will even show at Revolution. And as for John Cena…well right now I am the hottest in form talent on Infest and after I am through with beating him….he will be to embarrassed to show his face this Sunday. So John….I’m sorry about your damn luck!” With that he takes a swig of beer and walks off laughing.

Jay Lethal & Jerry Lynn vs. Motor City Machine Guns w/Kevin Nash

‘EVERYDAY IN MY LIFE!’ With all four men in the ring the crowd jeer as X Division Champion AJ Styles appears on the stage where he sets up and chair and sits down, taking a loving look at his Championship before placing it back over his shoulder. In the ring the action is fast paced from the start as all four men show glimpses of their abilities, while Kevin Nash watches on from the announce table. The match is back and forth, with Lethal showing just why he has become the number one contender. But Shelley and Sabin are a regular team, and this experience sees them sneak their way to the upper hand. But eventually Lethal tags in and unleashes a foray of moves that scatter their opponents, switching the tide in the favour of the fan favourites. But as Lynn tags himself back in, AJ gets to his feet and strolls down to the ring, grabbing the attention of Lethal. Lethal then drops off the apron and the two men exchange verbal abuse before AJ connects with a slap to the face. Lethal then fires back with some hard rights and the two start to brawl up the ramp. Meanwhile in the ring Lynn thinks he has things under control, but as he turns to make a tag he sees his partner fighting on the ramp. This distraction is enough as he turns into a kick to the gut by Sabin, who then sends him into Shelley for the Shell Shock. Shelley then makes the cover and picks up the victory as Kevin Nash applauds his two boys. Meanwhile Lethal has AJ rocking as the champ tries to scurry away, the challenger in hot pursuit.

Backstage, we then see World Heavyweight Champion the ‘Rated R Superstar’ edge making his way through the corridors as Christy Hemme tries desperately to get a word with him. “Edge….Edge stop. You are not scheduled to be here tonight….so why are you?” With that Edge stops and turns to face here, looking into her eyes before pulling off his sunglasses. “Do you see this sitting over my shoulder? That is the symbol that says I am the World Heavyweight Champion…..and that is why I am here. I don’t have to be booked in match……I am Infest…..without me this show would be nothing….fact.” “So what are your plans?” “My plans? Well I hear my good old buddy John Cena has a match tonight…so I think I will watch that match and give him some moral support. And when the show is done, how about you come over to my hotel room and help me warm up for Revolution….I would be happy to show you just how R rated I can be!!!” With that he leans in close to her. “Go on….I know you want to touch it.” With that Christy looks horrified, as Edge then grabs hold of her hand…but her look changes to confusion and relief as he then rubs her hand over the Championship. “I am your World Heavyweight Champion Christy….don’t ever forget that.” With that he pulls back and leaves, continuing on his path.

Our cameras then cut to a different area of the arena as Mike Tenay urges for cameras to cover a backstage incident. We then see AJ Styles and Jay Lethal still brawling, with Coach standing by calling on security. Security then arrive on the scene to separate the two men as Coach tries to settle things down. He cals for both men to be taken away and says neither he nor Mr McMahon want to see them again before Revolution.

‘I SPIT IN THE FACE OF PEOPLE WHO DON’T WANT TO BE COOL!’ Carlito then makes his way down to the ring which has been set up for his Cabana, with palm trees, a hammock, deck chairs and a basket of apples all on show. As he enters the ring he picks up a mic. “Welcome……to the latest edition……. of Carlito’s Cabana. That’s right, once again you all get the privilege of seeing the number one talk show in the World. And tonight, I once again pull out all the stops to choose a guest that is certain to crate an exciting show…..one of my opponents at revolution….CM Punk!”

‘YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH’ The crowd then let out cheers as Punk makes his way down to the ring, as miffed as everyone else as to why Carlito has chosen him as a guest. As he enters the ring he picks up a mic, before being welcomed by Carlito. “Punk, welcome to my Cabana. But first let me ask….how is your back?” He then lets out a snigger as Punk does not look impressed. “Carlito….you make think your actions were clever……and I admit I will never forget them….or forgive. But I have a question….how is your ego?” Carlito looks bemused. “What are you talking about?” “Well it is clear to me that your ego is heavily bruised….and it is damn well clear that you are a bad loser. You see our match was to determine which one of us was the better man….and I was the one who walked away with the victory. That must have deflated your oversized ego tremendously Carlito….it must have eaten you up inside. So to reclaim your pride….you hit me in the back with a chair….you tried to take me out for good. So tell me Carlito….” Punk then steps forward into the face of Carlito. “Does it hurt knowing that I am the better man? Does it hurt knowing that the name s these fans chant certainly is not ‘CARLITO’?” With that he pauses for a moment as the crowd chants ‘CM PUNK…CM PUNK!’ With that Carlito backs away and pick up an apple. “Hey man…that….that’s not cool!” he then takes a bite of his apple only for Punk to connect with a slap that sends chunks of apple spraying to the side. As Carlito then holds the side of his face Punk garbs him by the hair as the crowd cheer. But he fails to see Robert Roode charge down to the ring, Ms Brooks in tow. Roode then enters the ring and attacks Punk from behind as the crowd jeer, clubbing him in the back before putting the boot in. A two on one then ensues until cheers burst through the crowd as Rhino charges down to the ring. As he enters he first takes down Carlito and the Roode with clotheslines. He then hit’s a back body drop on Carlito before whipping Roode into the corner. But as he moves to the corner and grabs hold of Roode, Ms Brooks crawls up behind him and hit’s a low blow. Roode then gathers himself and goes on the offensive, pounding on Rhino. Punk tries to help, but is cut off by Carlito. Roode then tells Ms Brooks to grab a chair, and she takes Lillian’s and then hands it to Roode. Then as Rhino tries to get up, Roode crashes the chair across his back, before then connecting with a shot to the back of Punk. Carlito then gives a boot to both men as they lay prone on the mat. Roode, Carlito and Ms Brooks then stand dominant with their hands raised as the crowd rain boo’s down on them.

Backstage we then see Christy Hemme standing with John Cena. “John, tonight you face ‘Cowboy’ James Storm before you move onto Sunday, and a TLC match for the World Heavyweight Championship with Edge at Revolution. But with TLC in mind, is tonight’s match one you could have done without?” “Christy….I’m not gonna lie to you. With TLC just two days away….with my rematch for the World Heavyweight Championship just two days away…..a match with James Storm would not normally have been on my agenda. But after seeing what he done last week….I was happy to accept the match. You see James, you may think it’s ok to hit women with glass bottles….but I don’t. In my eyes you are the lowest of the low….and tonight I am going to show you exactly what I think about the way you go about your business. And when I’m done…then it’s off to Revolution. So Edge, you can watch closely tonight, because the only thing you are going to learn is that this past month hasn’t been about you being our Champion…..it’s about you keeping the throne warm for the rightful heir. And if you don’t believe me, then for you and James Storm I have just two letters for you……F….U!” with that Cena walks off as the fans cheer.

It is now time for ‘Professor Ponders………The Motor City Machine Guns’ as we see the familiar image of Mike Tenay sitting by a fireplace. “When I think of Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin….I think of two young men with bags of talent and a whole load of attitude to go with it. They are quick, they are agile and in Shelley you have some one versatile and fluent in just about every wrestling style imaginable. They are happy to beat you in the ring….or just as happy to expose you on the Shelley Cam. The uncertain element certainly has to be Kevin Nash. A man with a huge reputation…both good and bad….that has taken them under his wing. Will Nash lead them to glory…or off the rails? Only time will tell, but one thing you can guarantee is that they will continue to have an impact here on Infest!” With that the shot fades away.

We then join Mike Tenay and JBL at ringside. “Folks, PPV time is almost upon us. And as we heard earlier tonight, the card has finally finished taking shape. From Meltdown we will see….” “That’s a hell for card Tenay, but so is the one that we will be brining you all. We will see the X Division Championship on the line as Champion AJ Styles defends against Jay Lethal, who has spent the past few weeks learning from Jerry Lynn. Plus we have tag team action, with Rhino and CM Punk teaming up to take on Carlito and Robert Roode….and for extra incentive the man who picks up the pin fall or submission will become the new number 1 contender for the World Heavyweight Championship!” “It doesn’t stop there John, because we have one hell of a grudge match as the ‘Wildcat’ Chris Harris will finally get his hands on ‘Cowboy’ James Storm as the collide one on one. And in our Main Event, it will be Tables….Ladders….and Chairs as Edge defends his World Heavyweight Championship for the first time against John Cena!! But that is Sunday, and tonight isn’t quite over yet….so lets hand over to Lillian Garcia for tonight’s Main Event.”

Main Event

John Cena vs. James Storm w/Jackie Moore

‘YOU THINK YOU KNOW ME!’ The crowd erupt in boo’s as the World Heavyweight Champion struts his way down to the announce table, the Championship sitting proudly over his shoulder. He then places it on the table and shakes hands with JBL before putting on a head set. The boo’s then continue as James Storm makes his way to the ring, taking a swig of beer before he enters. ’MY TIME IS NOW!’ The arena then erupts as John Cena appears on stage, saluting the fans before making his way down to the ring. First he walks past the announce table, stopping to stare down Edge before climbing into the ring. As he enters James Storm goes straight on the offensive, connecting with a knee to the side of Cena as he climbs through the ropes. Storm then hits some clubbing blows to the back as Cena stumbles around the ring. Storm then connects with a chop that stings the chest of Cena, before going for a hard right. But Cena blocks it and fires back with a right of his own, followed by several more that leave Storm unsteady on his feet. Cena then hit’s the ropes and goes for a clothesline, only for Storm to duck. But Cena comes back off the ropes and takes Storm down with a jumping shoulder tackle, and then as he stumbles up, Cena sends Storm tumbling to the outside. With his cap having fallen off, Cena then pulls off his t-shirt and tosses it into the crowd before going back on the attack. Cena seems in clear control of the match until Jackie climbs onto the apron causing a distraction, allowing Storm to catch Cena off guard. But no matter how hard Storm fights, Cena keeps finding a way to work himself back into the match, until he finally takes over once more. Then as the action continues, he finally gets Storm onto his shoulders looking for the FU, but he fails to notice Edge leave the announce table. Then as he turns round with to absorb the adulation of the crowd, Edge takes him down with a Spear. The crowd jeer as Senior Official Rudy Charles calls for a DQ, while Edge seems to snap, mounting Cena and firing in shot after shot. Then with Storm back to his feet, they pull Cena up and lead him to the corner. But the arena suddenly breaks out in cheers as Chris Harris charges down to the ring, clearly an angry man. He then unleashes with a clothesline on Edge, followed by one for Storm. He then connects with some hard lefts that knock down Edge, before rocking Storm with some too. He then whips Storm into the ropes and takes him down with a flying forearm lariat. But before he can do anymore damage, Jackie jumps onto his back. As Storm then rolls out of the ring to join Edge, Harris pulls Jackie off his back and grabs her by the hair, before signalling for the Catatonic as the crowd let out a cheer. But the then looks at Storm and lets her go. Jackie then breathes a sigh of relief, but as she turns to leave she walks straight into John Cena who is back on his feet. Cena then scoops her up onto his shoulders and delivers the FU as Edge and Storm watch on. The show then goes off the air with Harris and Cena in the ring, while Storm and Edge back up the ramp, Edge clutching his championship tight.
