UCW Meltdown – August 29 – Wednesday Night
Action Zone
As the opening strains of Guns’ N’ Roses’ Welcome
to the Jungle blast from the screen, we are shown brief highlights from last weeks edition of UCW Meltdown. Kurt Angle was
interviewed in the ring by JB, but when Angle became aggressive, Samoa Joe made his presence felt, although his challenge
of a re-match was declined. Team 3D then became Tag Team No.1 Contenders, having defeated Cryme Tyme, only with help from
an as yet un-identified duo. Ric Flair then tackled King Booker, only for Randy Orton to intervene and tip the balance firmly
in Booker’s favour however, after the match Jim Cornette was to grant Flair his chance for redemption, taking on Booker
& Orton in a tag team match tonight, with a partner of his choice. And finally, as Sting addressed the crowd in the ring,
he was confronted by Batista, only for Christian Cage & Tomko to cause a distraction, as Sting and The Animal teamed-up
to clear the ring, before Batista then drilled The Icon with a brutal spear.
We then join Jeremy Borash backstage, in the hallway area near the
arena entrance. JB says…“Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to this week’s edition of UCW Meltdown. Here I am,
as I have been all day, waiting at the entrance of the UCW Action Zone, awaiting the arrival of the Nature Boy Ric Flair,
ahead of the huge Tag Team Match.” Then, as Borash turns to see the doors to the arena now open, Ric Flair walks inside,
wearing his traditional custom-made suit and carrying a bag, JB quickly asks Flair… “Ric, it’s good to see
you, but I see that you are in-fact alone…did you get a partner?” Flair then says…“JB! Do not judge
a book by its cover…or even the Nature Boy… You see, there may not be anybody with me right now…as you can
clearly see, however that does not mean that I have come alone…but you’ll have to wait & see…”
Then, as Flair smiles and walks past JB and on down the hallway, Borash continues… “Well, I will endeavour to
find out just who Ric Flair has brought with him tonight, but we also have much more coming-up, including that huge No.1 Contender
Match, Kurt Angle vs. Samoa Joe, plus Father James Mitchell live on the Peep Show so, don’t go away and I’ll keep
you posted on the Orton/Flair/King Booker situation…” And as our camera cuts away, we then go to the live opening
of the show complete with an awesome explosion of pyro and a loud cheer from the Action Zone crowd.
IT’S SHOWTIME! As the arena lights dim and attention turns to
the entrance way, electricity fills the Action Zone and the noise throughout the arena is truly deafening, as The Icon Sting,
the proud UCW Champion, once again makes his way to the ring. Coming down the aisle wearing his long black trench coat and
full black ring attire and familiar painted face, with the beautiful gold UCW Championship Belt slung casually over his right
shoulder, while holding his famous black baseball bat in-hand, The Icon lets out a loud cry of…“Wooooo!”
and after climbing through the ropes, accepting the enthusiastic cheers of the live crowd, the Stinger then claims a mic,
Sting begins…“Wooooo! Now, you all know me…usually I’m a pretty laid back guy! I may get a little
excited from time to time…but I try to maintain my composure… However, last week…I was taken advantage of…and
I paid for turning my back… Now, I always said that if anybody wants a shot at me…or this UCW Championship, then
all they had to do was asked and earn it, so I have no problem with confrontation. But my problem is when I thought I could
trust someone…and he stabs my back… So, Batista…I know you’re back there…why don’t you
come out here right now… and feel what it’s like to get STUNG by the STINGER…I know you’re back there,
pacing…prowling around like a caged Animal…well big guy, this is your chance… You want a shot at the title,
right? Well here it is…Just come out here and take it…”
I WALK ALONE! But suddenly the Action Zone crowd erupts with a huge
cheer, before The Animal Batista makes his way through the curtain and down the ramp. Accompanied by the heavy metal sounds
of Saliva and his trademark pyro display, Batista is dressed and looks ready to compete as Sting locks his eyes on his arrival.
The Animal then climbs the steel ring-steps and makes his way through the ropes, standing face-2-face with The Icon, as the
crowd noise rises to deafening proportions, with neither man making a move or daring to blink, with electricity piercing the
air. But as Batista displays a fearsome scowl upon his face, Sting refuses to back away, while The Animal makes the motion
across is waist that he wants the UCW Title, only for Sting to raise his baseball bat and then toss it under the ropes, to
the outside. Sting then takes the beautiful gold UCW Championship Belt from across his shoulder, laying it down on the canvas
in-front of Batista, drawing a line between the two men, before Sting then brings the mic back to his lips as he prepares
to speak once more, Sting says…“Now, somebody get me a referee…because right now…It’s Showtime!”
And as a huge cheer goes up from the live crowd, in anticipation of
this match-up, Sting removes his ring jacket and hands it to the time-keeper, while in total contrast, Batista remains focused
on The Icon himself, never once taking his eyes off of him, and as both men now stand opposite each other again, with the
belt still on the mat, suddenly…“NO! NO…NO…NO, I’m sorry but this is not going to happen, tonight!”
Jim Cornette makes his way through the curtain and quickly comes down the ramp, holding a mic and gaining a very negative
response from the live Action Zone crowd. And, as both Sting and Batista turn to look at the GM, Cornette enters the ring,
saying…“I’m sorry to disappoint you both, but this match is not going to happen… Batista, I understand
you want your shot at the UCW Title and I applaud you for that, however you need to earn that shot and I need to sanction
it…and I will consider you, for a shot in the future but right now you need to go backstage…and cool off, OK?”
And with a team of security now standing at ringside, having followed Cornette out, as Cornette stands up-close to The Animal,
Batista looks directly forward at Sting, before raising his right hand and signalling…Thumbs Up and then Thumbs Down…
before stepping back and then through the ropes and dropping down to the floor and, as Batista makes his way up the ramp and
back through the curtain, Cornette says… “And Sting, while you are the UCW Champion…and it is true I brought
you here… and I’m proud to have you lead this brand, but you need to remember how it goes… I’m the
boss, I run things and I make the matches…and you defend the UCW Title against the opponents in matches I make…no
one else. So, right now, if I were you… I’d start worrying about Kurt Angle vs. Samoa Joe…and I’d
forget about Batista…” And, as Sting takes a moment to compose himself, he then looks out into the crowd, before
turning to face Cornette and picking his UCW Championship Belt off the mat. Sting then hands his mic over to Cornette and
drapes the belt back over his shoulder, before turning and walking to the edge of the ring, stepping back through the ropes
and dropping to the floor and after re-claiming his ring jacket and black baseball bat, Sting then climbs over the guard-rail
and walks off into the crowd, not saying a word.
And with Jim Cornette watching the UCW Champion walk away through the
crowd, we then cut away from the live action, as a promotional vignette now airs on-screen, featuring the
forth-coming arrival of an intense performer and ruthless competitor, while a dark green glow flashes on-screen along with
the heavy tones of Motorhead… BEHOLD THE KING…THE KING OF KINGS…ON YOUR KNEES…DOG!!! Before much memorable
in-ring footage plays, complete with these ominous words… “I Was Told…To Succeed in This Business…You
Must Be a Student of The Game… But Nobody…Eats…Sleeps…Lives…And Breaths This Business…More
Than Me! In This Life…People Gravitate Toward Greatness…That is Simple Human Nature… In This Business They
Gravitate Toward Me…Because Some Things Never Change! I am The Game…Triple H…A 10-time World Champion…The
King Of Kings… The Greatest Wrestler Alive Today…I Have Won it all…And I Have Beaten
them all. Better…Stronger…Faster…Than Any Man Has Ever Been…Or Will Ever Be Again! And Now…In
UCW…Sooner or Later…They Will All Bow Down To The King…” Before an on-screen caption reads…“Coming
Soon…HHH…The King Of Kings…”
MATCH 1 Team 3D vs. London & Kendrick
With Team 3D making their way to the ring greeted with the wrath
of the crowd, Brother Ray & Devon come down the ramp full of confidence and ready for battle, entering the ring and saluting
the crowd less-than-honourably, as they then high-5, before Kendrick & London come running down the ramp and sliding into
the ring. But in no time at all Team 3D show why they are so highly respected internationally as they begin with a display
of smash mouth style-action, dominating their extremely capable opponents from the start, before settling down the pace and
maintaining quick tags to control the match, isolating the faster and more athletic London & Kendrick. But following a
brief rally from Kendrick, who manages to out-manoeuvre Devon, was received positively from the crowd; Brother Ray becomes
angry and tags in, delivering a hostile beating to Kendrick and then London in equally brutal regard. Team 3D then fought
on despite a further brief rally from London & Kendrick, eventually connecting with their patented 3D finisher on London
for the victory. However, as Brother Ray & Devon scale the turnbuckles to celebrate their victory, while the crowd are
entirely less-than-welcoming towards Team 3D, as abruptly…
Our attention is drawn to the Big Screen as a commercial begins with
a Mexican flag billowing in the wind as we hear several gunshots accompanied by this voice-over… “The following
announcement has been paid for by the Latin-American Exchange…”
We then see Homicide & Hernandez, holding their UCW Tag Team Championships,
sat behind a table and flanked on either side by gang members of the Latino Nation, wearing their colours with the Mexican
flag spread prominently in the foreground, squarely in the centre of a small dimly lit room, displayed with great national
pride while various replicas hang from the walls and a bottle of Tequila stands on the table. With all of them wearing sun-glasses
and LAX T-shirts as well as black bandanas, Homicide then begins to address the camera in Spanish, before becoming extremely
animated and aggressive as he reaches for the camera, pulling it in-close to this face, saying…“Brother Ray, Brother
Devon…are we supposed to be impressed by you? LAX is loco, 5150…you can’t intimidate us with the same old
routine from the past! This is the new era and the start of the Latino Revolution…taking over on Meltdown, and taking
over the world…and we will start by teaching you a lesson about justice… You wanted to be handed the belts but
we took them so now you gotta go through us! And we are gonna build our legacy and our success by using you as a stepping
stone, Sunday 16 September…Revolution PPV…The Latino Revolution will be televised… We live it, we breath
it and Team 3D…you will know it…To Live And Die in LAX!” And as the picture fades from the shot of LAX,
the opening voice-over returns… “The preceding announcement was paid for by the Latin-American Exchange…”
Following this announcement, as it receives a strong reaction from the live crowd, Brother Ray & Devon toss the referee’s
hand aside and, amid deafening chants of… “3D Sucks…3D Sucks…3D Sucks!” They both flip-off the
crowd, as they leave.
We are then shown a strange promotional vignette featuring some familiar
characters. With a blank screen, gradually the music from the Godfather movie begins to play, while the following random dictionary
definitions scroll slowly across the TV screen.
Voodoo…“A person skilled in the art or use of…Witchcraft…OR…Black
Magic!
Kin…“One or more people closely related by either…Blood…OR…character!
Mafia…“An organised group or body of men…regarded
for its’ sinister influence!
Tag Team…“A wrestling partnership formed with an endeavour
for infinite success!
VKM…“Coming Soon to UCW Meltdown…the Action Zone
will never be the same!
Before footage then airs in black and white, featuring the mysterious
masked duo, jumping the guard-rail during the Team 3D vs. Cryme Tyme No.1 Contender Match, screwing Cryme Tyme out of the
victory, before departing the same way they came. And as the footage comes to an end, displayed scrolling slowly across the
blank screen once again, accompanied by the Godfather theme music are the letters…VKM.
And following this footage, we then re-join JB backstage, outside of
the GM’s office. Borash says…“JB here, outside of Jim Cornette’s office and, following that footage,
I’m told that we will hear from Cryme Tyme in regard to their attackers, next week. But right now, I am once again joined
by the Nature Boy Ric Flair, and let me say, Ric thank you for granting us this interview, I know how busy you are right now…”
Flair then says…“That’s ok, JB…I understand, and I’m sorry I had to run off earlier, but as
you said I am a busy man…my phone has been ringing off the hook all week, with people wanting to tag-up with the Nature
Boy…but as I said, I have a partner…” JB says…“Well Ric, since I have you here…could you
tell us who your partner is?” Flair then responds…“Ya know, JB…I like you, but you keep on pressing
don’t ya? Honestly I’d love to tell you, but Jim Cornette has made me promise to keep it secret. He said it’s
a surprise which is why we are the Main Event tonight, not Kurt & Joe… That’s how big this is…I had
to think hard about the partners that Cornette suggested, but Batista & Sting obviously have their own business and their
own separate agenda, Abyss I don’t even know where to start and I even had an offer from James Mitchell, to make his
New Monster my tag team partner…But when I heard who it was, brother, I said there’s No Way! And that basically
narrows it down to only one man… The only man left on Meltdown today, who is fit to walk side-by-side with the Naitch!
To Be The Man, you’ve gotta beat the man…and tonight my partner is…The Man!” Then, as Flair moves
away and JB begins to hand back to JR, Flair returns to say… “Wooooo!” receiving a loud reaction from the
crowd in the arena, before we cut away
MATCH 2 No.1 Contender’s Match
Kurt Angle vs. Samoa Joe
And as we return to the Action Zone, JR and King begin to hype the
coming match-up and, following the entrance of both men, as they stand on opposite sides of the ring, we are shown a brief
shot from the distance of Sting standing alone in the rafters, watching events as they unfold from his vantage point high
above the Action Zone, wearing his solid black attire and armed with his tried and trusted black baseball bat. As Eventually
the ref calls both men towards the centre of the ring for instructions as Samoa Joe & Kurt Angle then both step forwards
and, following these instructions, return to neutral corners as the anticipation builds for this colossal grudge re-match.
And as the bell rings and both men begin to advance, slowly moving into position, attempting to scout their opponent for a
weakness, eventually they step into a stiff, collar and elbow tie-up, as neither man gives way at first, until Joe’s
weight shows and he drags Angle into a standing side-headlock, as Angle immediately counters, driving Joe back into the ropes
and then shoving him off and away into the far ropes. But as Angle attempts to follow-up with a belly-to-belly, as Joe comes
off the ropes, his momentum takes him into Angle, sending Kurt down with a huge shoulder block. Joe then quickly hits the
ropes and as Angle gets to his feet, Joe takes him down again with a low boot to the face before Kurt rolls to the ropes to
compose himself slightly. And as Joe now milks the cheers of the crowd, a focused Angle slowly gets to his feet and, as both
men begin to circle around the ring, our cameras show a shot backstage, with The Animal Batista now watching events closely
on the monitor in the hall-way, before both men step forward to lock-up again. But as they do, Kurt suddenly shifts, ducking
under Joe’s left arm into a quick go-behind, applying a vice-like waist-lock, before arching his back and taking Joe
down with an quick-release German suplex, sending Joe half-way across the ring. But as Joe quickly gets to his feet from this,
Angle ducks down low and charges for a double-leg takedown, but Joe counters, getting his boot up and delivering another stiff
boot to the face, sending Kurt down. Angle though is also quick to his feet this time, as both men begin to boil with rage,
stepping into the centre of the ring, intensely squaring-up to one another once again, until Angle unloads with a vicious
head-butt, staggering Joe backwards on his heels, before rocking his head with a stiff European upper-cut, only for Joe to
fight back, lashing out with a chop to the chest and connecting with a stiff martial-arts style kick to Angle’s leg.
But as Joe tries another kick, Kurt sees it coming and grabs Joe’s leg, before tripping his standing foot out from underneath
him and sending him down, then attempting to turn Joe over into an Ankle Lock, only for Joe to think very fast, kicking Kurt
off, but as both men get to their feet again and Angle tries to go-behind, Joe lashes out with a stiff elbow, connecting with
the jaw of Angle, breaking his grip. Joe then begins to unload, peppering Angle with several unanswered right hand shots,
followed by a stiff chop, taking Kurt down with a snap-mare, then a chop to the back, a kick to the chest and hitting the
ropes before dropping a knee on Kurt Angle’s head. And following a cover and a 1-count, Joe drags Angle to his feet,
but as he does this, Kurt delivers a sneaky fake to the face of Joe, followed-up by a European upper-cut, but as Angle tried
to shoot him off into the ropes, Joe was able to reverse it and then, as Kurt hit the ropes, Joe quickly took him down with
a succession of clotheslines, one after another before Joe drags Angle up for an Irish whip, but again he reverses it, sending
Joe into the ropes and as he now comes off with tremendous momentum, Angle is one step ahead, stopping Joe in his tracks,
locking his arms around his waist and sending him flying with his patented over-head release belly-to-belly suplex, before
getting to his feet and yelling aloud…“YEAH!” at the very top of his voice. And as Joe staggers to his feet
and back into the ropes, Kurt quickly charges forwards, nailing Joe with a clothesline and sending him up and over the top
rope with authority and down to the floor at ringside. Then, as Joe lands in a heap on the floor outside, Angle steps through
the ropes and drops down to the floor, dragging Joe to his feet. But as he does, Joe now finds a burst of energy and counters
with a slap to the face, before Angle comes back with a right hand and they then briefly go back-and-forth, before Angle lashes
out with a kick to the gut and quickly takes Joe off of his feet, with a double-leg takedown, grabbing his foot to apply the
Ankle Lock on the outside. And with Joe beginning to writhe in pain as Angle cinches in the submission move, Angle suddenly
releases the hold, rolling into the ring to break the referee’s count, before rolling back to the outside and, as Joe
now slowly makes an attempt to stand, Angle stomps on the weakened ankle, sending Joe back down to the ringside floor and
quickly re-applying the Ankle Lock, but as Kurt tries to turn Joe over onto his back, the Samoan Submission Machine, digs
deep and is able to kick Angle off and away, sending the Olympic Gold Medallist sprawling back and down to the floor himself.
And as Joe now slowly gets to his feet, an enraged Angle charges at him at full-speed, but Joe quickly steps forward, taking
Angle down with his patented snap-power-slam, And now, with the live crowd breathless from this action on the outside of the
ring, Samoa Joe gets to his feet with Angle lying flat on his back following the snap-slam, and with Joe limping on his bad
ankle, he staggers slightly as he heads for the ring., with the referee’s count now reaching the stage of…six,
seven, eight…by this time. And then, as Joe reaches for the bottom rope to pull himself up onto the ring-apron, the
referee counts to 10 and, as Joe rolls into the ring, having climbed onto the apron, he realises that he has been just a moment
too late, as the referee calls for the bell, ending this No.1 Contender’s Match on a double-count-out, between Angle
and Joe. And, as Joe holds his head in his hands in the ring, hardly able to believe his eyes, with Angle getting to his feet
and heading around the ring towards the entrance ramp, as Kurt backs away and Samoa Joe gets to his feet, still slightly limping,
we cut away.
We then once again join JB, outside of Jim Cornette office, as Borash
quickly says… “JR, here I am outside of Jim Cornette’s office, to get his reaction to that match-up…”
JB then turns and knocks on the door to the GM’s office, as Father James Mitchell, smiling broadly exits the office
and runs into Borash who, a little surprised asks… “Father James Mitchell, I didn’t expect to see you here…aren’t
you supposed to be, on the Peep Show coming-up next…what were you seeing Jim Cornette about?” Mitchell then says…“Oh
how very observant of you, as always Borash, my boy… Yes indeed I am due on the Peep Show momentarily, but first I had
a pressing matter to address…which is why I have asked Jim Cornette to provide me with some Meltdown security…to
surround the ring and to guard the entrance ramp just in case, you protect me from any un-foreseen interruptions…and
particular un-invited guests. Namely that in-grate and EX-protégé of mine…Abyss…for tonight my good man, shall
see the dawning of a new day…and the beginning of the end…for Abyss…” And as Mitchell departs and
JB enters Cornette’s office, he then says to the GM… “Excuse me, Mr. Cornette but…following the inconclusive
ending to that match-up, with neither Kurt Angle or Samoa Joe able to score the victory over the other man, what does this
mean regarding who receives the UCW Title shot…at Revolution?” Cornette than says…“Gee Borash, everybody
wants something…if it’s not Mitchell, its you…well, it just so happens that in the 10-seconds since that
match just finished, actually I really haven’t been able to think of a solution…but I will do by next week, how’s
that? Now get outta my office, if you please…I’ve got some thinking to do…” Borash then exits, leaving
Cornette scratching his head over the Angle/Joe situation.
9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1! And as JR & King welcome Meltdown viewers back
to ringside, we notice that the ring has been set up with a talk show set, complete with two stools and a red carpet covering
the ring, all in place for the latest edition of The Peep Show, as the Instant Classic himself Christian Cage makes his way
to the ring looking smug, accompanied as always by Tomko and dressed in jeans and an Instant Classic T-shirt. He then enters
the ring and slaps his chest to signal to his Peeps, receiving only boos before calling for a mic, which Tomko claims from
the timekeeper, as Cage says… “First of all, I just wanted to thank each and every one of you people individually,
my loyal Peeps…for your support in the on-going injustice that continues to keep me… the rightful No.1 Contender…away
from a UCW Championship Match with Sting! But, maybe I have a solution to Jim Cornette’s problem…regarding Angle
& Joe… because if those two guys can’t decide between them who should go to Revolution, then maybe…just
maybe, Cornette will use that brain of his to make the right choice! The man who pushed Sting to the limit, the man who made
Sting into true superstar… The man who is simply, an Instant Classic…Christian Cage deserves the Title Shot!!!
But for now, my hopes and dreams will have to wait…because tonight is special… Tonight, we finally get to hear
from the man that everybody has been talking about, my live Peep Show guest…the Monster Maker himself…Father James
Mitchell…”
And as a mix of boos and jeers fill the arena, Father James Mitchell
makes his way, through the curtain and down the ramp, wearing his loud-red suit and long black hair, looking more demonic
than ever before as he climbs up the steps and into the ring, being handed a mic from the time-keeper and taking a seat, opposite
Cage & Tomko, as Cage sits on the other seat with Tomko standing behind him, watching his back. Cage says…“James
Mitchell, welcome to the Peep Show…now it is truly an honour, to present such a distinguished guest and a man of class…just
like myself in-fact…” Mitchell says…“Well that’s very nice of you Christian, but let’s
not fool ourselves. We all know that the only reason why you accepted me as your special guest tonight was because you wanted
to be the first person to break the news to the entire world… The news that will send shock-waves from Meltdown…all
the way over to iNFEST!!! So, lets not waist any time now…but first, security please…take your positions…”
And as Mitchell issues the command, as many as 12 security guards now appear, coming through the curtain and taking up their
positions surrounding the ring and, lining the foot of the entrance ramp…while Mitchell continues his rambling speech…
“And now the time has come, but in introducing my brand new pride and joy, first… Let me tell you a story, of
a man and his only begotten son…neither by blood or birth, but a son by all other means…For indeed I took in Abyss
when nobody else would. As a rose by any other name would still smell as sweet…and we formed a firm bond, reeking havoc
and ensuing chaos across the four-corners of this God-damned world… But following our parting of the ways, as Abyss
bit the hand that had always fed him, when my search began for a successor to eradicate that mistake and destroy Abyss…
First I looked for a powerful force…then I looked for a giant, immoveable object… But it was then I realised that
if I was to find Him, I needed to find a true monster… Not a man, a true monster…someone who knows and understands
my very plight, someone who knows the pain of rejection and bares the scars of a family torn-apart! And it was then that I
found Him, the only man for the job…My New Monster…”
THE FIRE BURNS! And as a deafening explosion of towering burning flames,
signals the identity of this man, attention turns to the very top of the entrance ramp, where-upon some sinister, demonic
organ music begins to play and on the Big Screen, these following words are displayed amid the burning flames for all to see
and fear…
“A Life Born From Deceit…A Family and a Childhood Torn-Apart,
A Man Brought to Ruin…and a Monster Found Within,
But The Fire Still Burns…And Kane Is Coming…”
And back in the ring, as this footage comes to an end and normal behaviour
resumes, with Cage & Tomko speechless and still un-able to believe their eyes or their ears, Mitchell says…“And
so there you have it, children…My New Monster is coming… Through Hellfire and Brimstone…and his name, once
more is indeed…KANE!!!
DOOMSDAY! As the crowd erupts with unexpected shock and surprise at
events, suddenly The Monster Abyss makes his way through the curtain, clearly enraged and, as the smile is taken away from
Mitchell’s face and Cage & Tomko bail out of there, Abyss arrives at the foot of the ramp as Mitchell screams at
security to do their job, while Abyss pauses to roar aloud with anger and to cross his arms in his familiar way. And as the
12 security guards begin to advance toward him, The Monster roars again, before launching into an attack of defiance; mercilessly
assaulting the security team, one-by-one as they come at him with truncheons and night-sticks primed all at once, Abyss unloads
with devastating right hands and lashes out with brutally solid boots, sending each and every member of the security team
flying or running, from ringside, before finally Abyss sees Mitchell alone in the ring, as he climbs up onto the apron, stepping
easily over the top rope into the ring, advancing towards his former mentor. And then, with Mitchell now standing as Abyss
steps to within a few feet of the man, suddenly a towering inferno of fire explodes from the top of all four steel ring-posts,
shocking Abyss and allowing Mitchell time to escape as The Monster turns around. And with Mitchell rolling to the outside
and hurriedly making his way up the ramp, with Abyss still in the ring gradually the arena becomes bathed in a dark red glow,
while an eerie, sinister, evil deep-voiced laugh can be heard echoing from all around. And as Abyss crosses his arms once
more, roaring with rage and anger once again, while medical staff scrambles to the rescue of the decimated security, we cut
away.
And following this very strange sequence of events, we return to the
backstage area, as JB is now joined by Randy Orton & King Booker, along with Queen Sharmell. Borash says…“Gentlemen…and
Sharmell…Not withstanding the events of tonight, do you at all take it as a cause for concern that at present and, all
this week in-fact, you have no idea who your opponent and Ric Flair’s partner will be in your match…” Orton
then says…“Absolutely not, JB…because you see…it is really a simple issue. This whole thing started
between me and Ric…because he showed me disrespect… And since then I have made him pay, time and time again, because
that’s what I do… I’m the Legend Killer…end of story. But if Jim Cornette wants to involve Booker,
well that’s just fine with me because all it does is enhance the chances of Ric Flair, never returning to the ring again…when
we destroy him…and his so-called partner! And let’s face it, it doesn’t even matter who Ric chooses tonight,
because after all… I’ve defeated Ric in the past, and with my help…King Booker did so just last week, so
no matter who his partner is, all we have to do…is what we have already done… And that, JB is to simply defeat
Ric Flair…regardless of any partner he may have…” Booker then says…“Hey man, I didn’t
need nobody’s help…to beat Ric Flair, man… I did it by myself, just like always…tell him, baby…”
Then, Queen Sharmell says… “Damn right, Randy…and if you get any ideas of trying to steal the show out there,
just remember that King Booker is the one true king of UCW and the wrestling world. So all you need to do is follow my man…to
victory and everything will be fine, ok?” Booker says…“Indeed my Queen, I’m sure young Randall understands
your words. For tonight, like last week…Ric Flair will bow down to the king…King BOOKER!” Orton says…“OK,
whatever…you’re the king, I’m the Legend Killer, so let’s go…” And as Booker and Orton
depart with Sharmell, Borash rolls his eyes as we cut away.
We are then shown a brief promotional vignette for the next time that
UCW action will be featured live on PPV, when Meltdown & Infest both combine once again to present: – UCW Revolution…Live
only on Pay-Per-View…Sunday 16 September.
MAIN EVENT Randy Orton & King Booker w/ Sharmell vs. Ric Flair
& ????
With Orton, King Booker & Sharmell making there way down the ramp
to the ring, each coming out separately to their own music, JR & King briefly run through events, informing us that next
week the new UCW Tag Team Champions LAX will finally make their first appearance in the Action Zone since capturing the gold
at Hellbound, and we will also have the announcement from Jim Cornette regarding Angle and Joe, and just who will receive
the UCW Championship Match against Sting at Revolution. And as Sharmell slowly enters the ring, to join King Booker and Randy
Orton inside, Ric Flair makes his entrance to a warm reception, wearing his famous sequined robe, strutting down the ramp
and coming to a stop just at the foot of the entrance way, before anticipation begins to build and attention turns towards
the top of the ramp…
BEHOLD THE KING! And as the crowd in the Action Zone erupts into a
huge cheer, JR says… “My God, King, it’s him…he’s here…listen to this ovation…its
deafening! A 10-time World Champion…with the amazing technical skills of a Jack Briscoe… the tenacity of a Harley
Race, a ferocious mean-streak and an indomitable will to win, make for a very dangerous individual here on Meltdown and a
great partner for Flair. But make no mistake…The Game is not a nice guy…he is the baddest of the bad…”
Lawler says…“Oh, you’d better believe it JR…Triple H is everything he says he is. He is The Game,
The Cerebral Assassin and now The King of Kings…but as I always say, it takes a king to know a king…and I think
Randy & Booker are both in trouble!” And as Triple H comes down the ramp, with the famous tones of Motorhead playing,
he greets Flair at the foot of the ramp before the Nature Boy climbs the ring steps, entering through the ropes as the referee
holds them open for him, just like always, while Orton and Booker & Sharmell bail out of the ring as The Game comes closer.
Stepping up onto the apron, Triple H spits his water high in the air and into the crowd, before discarding his water bottle
and making his way through the ropes, into the ring, climbing to the top turnbuckle and making his trademark gestures to the
live crowd. And as HHH steps down from the top rope and meets Flair in the middle of the ring, quickly Booker and Orton slide
back into the ring, jumping both men from behind, with Orton concentrating on Flair while King Booker goes straight after
The Game. But as Flair & HHH quickly adjust and begin trading heavy blows with their rivals, Flair backs Orton up into
the ropes with a barrage of stiff stinging knife edge chops, while Triple H rocks King Booker with several solid right hands
and a boot to the gut, before both men back-up and deliver hard running clotheslines, sending their opponents over the top
rope and down to the outside, as the crowd roar with approval. And as Orton & Booker get to their feet at ringside, Triple
H and Ric Flair stand firm, sharing a high-5 before Flair steps out onto the apron, as the bell now finally sounds. King Booker
then enters first, drawing the attention of The Game away from Orton, who comes from behind but when Flair shouts aloud to
warn his partner of the danger, HHH turns and nails Orton with a solid right hand, as Booker steps out to the apron. And with
Orton staggering, Triple H backs him into their corner, before tagging Flair, as both men in-tandem then deliver 3 knife edge
chops to the chest of Randy Orton, delighting the crowd as King Booker enters the ring and then runs into Triple H, cutting
Booker off with a clothesline, before turning and combining with Flair again, sending Orton down with another double-teamed
chop, as HHH steps to the apron. Flair then drags Orton up and backs him into the ropes, and sends him across the ring, but
with Booker now back to his feet on the apron, Orton quickly reverses the move, sending Flair into the ropes, before Booker
connects with a stiff knee to the back, stopping Flair in his tracks, as Orton then quickly nails Triple H down off the apron,
taking advantage of Flair’s situation, to send the Nature Boy down with a dropkick. And with the crowd shocked at the
sudden turn-around in this Tag Team Main Event, Orton begins to go to work on Flair, stomping down hard on every one of his
limbs, before striking his famous pose and attempting to pin the Nature Boy with one foot, although when Flair kicks out after
a 1-count, Orton delivers one final heavy stomp, before hitting the ropes and connecting with a knee drop, on the point of
Flair’s skull. Orton then makes the cover, but when Flair kicks out again, the Legend Killer smiles, wanting to pro-long
the suffering and, gets to his feet, locking in the figure-4 on Flair. And as the Nature Boy writhes in
pain, struggling against his own submission move, gradually Triple H climbs back up onto the apron, while Flair slowly tries
to counter, eventually turning Orton over and reversing the effects of the hold, onto Orton’s legs. And as Orton is
forced to release the hold and both men slowly un-tangle their legs, then the race is on for the corner, as both Orton &
Flair now reach out for a hot tag. But with Flair’s legs still feeling the pain, he is slower to the corner than Orton,
allowing the Legend Killer to tag first, bringing King Booker quickly into the action. But as Booker runs into the ring, grabbing
Flair’s foot to pull him away from a tag, Booker then attempts to drag Flair to his feet, but as he does, HHH steps
into the ring, distracting the ref and allowing Flair to drop to his feet and deliver a firm low blow, sending King Booker
down with a cheer before The Game steps back to the apron and, now the race was on again, as both Flair & Booker reached
out for the hot tag. But as both men tag out at the same time, and bringing Triple H and Randy Orton in, The Game beats Orton
to the punch, sending him down with a very stiff clothesline, before turning as Booker gets to his feet and sending the would-be
King down as well. HHH then drops Randy Orton with a second clothesline, before dragging Booker up, sending him into the ropes
and taking him down with a solid Harley Race high-knee, before Orton gets to his feet and charges at The Game, but runs directly
into a patented Double-A Spine Buster, as the King of Kings plants Orton down on the mat. And as King Booker rolls to the
outside, as he and Queen Sharmell decide to leave, Triple H drags Orton to his feet and catches him with a solid boot to the
mid-section, dragging him into place for a Pedigree, but as Booker begins to shout from the ramp, distracting The Game from
the task at hand, Orton is able to counter with a backdrop, sending HHH crashing to the mat, as Booker & Sharmell now
head away up the ramp, leaving ringside. And now, with The Game lying motionless down on the canvas, Orton begins to see his
chance, as he slowly lowers himself down to the canvas, waiting patiently, and quietly stalking his prey. Orton though begins
to get frustrated as HHH tries to clear his head and re-focus, while Orton now strikes the mat with rage as he waits for HHH
to rise. But, slowly but surely as The Game regains his footing and gradually begins to turn around, suddenly the Legend Killer
springs into action, leaping to deliver his devastating RKO, but miraculously the King of Kings counters, shoving Orton away
from him and sending him staggering and stumbling forwards and sprawling into the ropes. And as The Game steadies himself
on a firm footing, Orton stumbles back around, as Triple H quickly connects with a firm boot to the gut, hooking Orton’s
arms and dropping him down to the mat with the Pedigree, delighting the crowd, as the ref counts 1-2-3 and raises The Game’s
hand in victory. And as Flair re-enters the ring, to congratulate his Tag Team partner for the night, Orton slowly rolls to
the outside as King Booker returns to the top of the ramp, locking eyes in the ring with the King of Kings, with resentment
etched on his face, while Triple H climbs the turnbuckle once again, to strike all of his trademark poses. JR says…“With
Triple H, here on Meltdown…It’s the start of a whole new Game!”
