Allies & Enemies!

INFEST 10/08/2007

Before the show gets underway we are shown a brief highlights package from last week as CM Punk defeated Carlito, only for Carlito to brutally assault him afterwards and send him to hospital before then incurring a challenge and then the wrath of Rhino. James Storm gets one over his former partner Chris Harris thanks to some help from his new associate Jackie Moore, while AJ makes his mark on Jerry Lynn with the X Division Championship. Robert Roode debuted and made his plans clear, while John Cena tricked everyone to get some revenge on edge before signing the contract that binds them for Hellbound! As the highlights end we then roll to the opening credits to the theme song ‘Enemy’ by Fozzy.

As the show goes live amidst an explosion of pyro and lights the camera pans around the sold out arena as the crowd is awash with a sea of replica t-shirts and signs for all the Infest superstars.

‘MY TIME IS NOW!’ The crowd then erupts and rises to its feet as John Cena makes his way out onto the stage. He then salutes the fans before making his way down the ramp and into the ring, grabbing a mic as he enters. “Two weeks ago in front of a sold out Arrowhead Pond I walked out of this very ring victorious in my match against Carlito. That victory meant that on Sunday 19th August live at Hellbound, the main event will be Edge versus John Cena to crown the first ever World Heavyweight Champion. It stands to be the biggest night in UCW history, one you certainly don’t want to miss out on. Now I have to hand it to my opponent…..Edge. Two weeks ago he got me…….he caught me out. He waited until my back was turned and he left me laying. I’m man enough to admit it. But last week Edge, you learned that two can play that game….only I play it better. You see Edge, two weeks ago when you Speared me, you got lucky. You waited until my back was turned and then made your move. Last week, i stared you straight in the eyes…..and then i put you through a table. And that is how its going to be Edge, because come Hellbo….”

‘YOU THINK YOU KNOW ME!’ Cena is then cut off as the music hits and Edge appears, making his way to the ring looking angry and frustrated. As he enters he grabs a mic. “Where do you get off Cena? Last week was a disgrace. Your actions should have you kicked out of this match at Hellbound. But if that wasn’t bad enough, you come out here and run me down? You think I’m afraid of you? You think that the only way I can take you down is behind your back? Well you’re wrong. And at Hellbound, I’m going to prove it by winning the World Heavyweight Championship.” Cena looks for a moment, a smile on his face. “Finally, we get to see some fight in you Edge. If you keep this up, you may not need someone to hold your hand down to the ring.” “Damn it Cena, I could shut that mouth right now!!” The smile then turns serious. “Well Edge, where I come from, we have only one thing to say about that.” He then tosses his hat into the crowd and takes off his shirt. “You want some………come get some!!!” He then steps forward into the face of Edge as the two men exchange words.

‘HERE COMES THE MONEY!’ “Hold it…..hold it right there! In case the two of you don’t remember, last week you signed a contract that says there will be no physical violence between the two of you, otherwise you will be pulled from the match. So why don’t you each just back off, before I toss you both out of my building.” Edge is quick to back away, turning his attention to Shane McMahon. “Shane, you are a voice of reason. Are you just going to sit back and let him get away with what he did to me last week?” “Normally Edge, I wouldn’t. But Cena hadn’t signed the contract, and therefore he never breached it. Plus if my memory serves me right, the week previous I kicked you out of the arena and said I didn’t want to see you again until the contract signing. Yet there you were disobeying my orders, running through the crowd into the ring with a Spear. So in my book, that makes you even. But back to tonight, I’m glad to see the two of you are keen for action, because you are both going to see it. And the pair of yopu better hope the other is ready to back up his actions with words, because tonight you are going to be a team. Tonight the two of you will be tag team partners against two hungry young stars, Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley. Enjoy your night!!!” Shane then leaves as Edge looks on horrified, turning to Cena who just shrugs his shoulders before making his exit.

We then join the ‘Professor’ Mike Tenay and JBL at the announce table. Folks, welcome to the latest edition of Infest and after last weeks hectic end, we have started tonight with a real bombshell!” “Tenay, Mr McMahon is a genius. What better way to keep Edge and John Cena from breaching their contract then by making them have to work together.” “But how can they possibly co-exist?” “They will have to Tenay, pure and simple. I love it!” “Well the night is young, and we still have a lot in store. Tonight we will bring you an update on the condition of CM Punk after I visited him at home yesterday.” “We will also see the beginning of a new era as we witness the debut of Robert Roode here on Infest.” “Plus tonight the X Division Champion AJ Styles will be up against it as he faces the fury of the ‘War Machine’ Rhino.” “That match disgusts me Tenay. How can you have our X Division Champion in the ring against that over grown imbecile. It’s ridiculous.” “Well it is going to happen, so deal with it John. And for our Main Event tonight, we just heard it will be Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin against the team of Edge and John Cena. What a night it is going to be, so lets delay no more as we hand over to Lillian Garcia.

Robert Roode w/Ms Brooks vs. Stevie Richards

‘MONEY!’ With Richards in the ring, the music hits and Robert Roode makes his way down to the ring accompanied by Ms Brooks, who holds open the ring ropes for him. Roode then stands in the centre of the ring and raises his arms as Ms Brooks stands behind him and reaches round, opening his robe before removing it. Roode is then quick to get the match underway, attacking Richards from behind with a clubbing blow to the back. Roode then immediately shows his strength and aggression, pounding on Richards in the corner. Richards attempts a fight back, but it is short lived as Roode ducks a swing and connects with a lariat to the back of the head. Roode then finishes Richards off with the Payoff, picking up the pin fall victory. Not content though, Roode then puls the limp Richards up and hit’s the Roode Awakening, leaving Richards a crumpled heap on the mat as Roode stands smug and proud of his debut.

Backstage we then see Christy Hemme standing with UCW X Division Champion AJ Styles. “AJ, last week you maliciously attacked your opponent at Hellbound, Jerry Lynn, with your X Division Championship. Clearly you have no respect the pioneer. But it would seem karma has struck as tonight you go one on one with the ‘War Machine’ Rhino!” “Karma, did you just say karma? Karma was me winning this X Division Championship, because I deserved it. Tonight’s match isn’t karma, its an outrage. Look at this Championship, it says X Division. Is Rhino X Division? No! So why the hell am I being made to face him? As for Jerry Lynn, do I have respect for him? No! You wanna know why? Because he strolls round here calling himself the pioneer of the X Division, but its me that put it on the map. Its me that made the X Division what it is today, and that is simply….phenomenal! So if Jerry thinks he is taking this Championship from me at Hellbound, then he can think again. In fact, I suggest he makes plans and books himself into a retirement home, because after Hellbound his career will be at an end. And me? Well I will still be simply…..the Champion!” With that AJ walks off.

We then find ourselves in a locker room backstage, via Shelley Cam. We see Alex Shelley looking into the camera as he props it on the side. The shot then cuts to Shelley and Sabin sitting in chairs, with Kevin Nash standing by a white board, with two stick men drawn on it labelled John Cena and Edge. Nash is wearing a white coat and glasses, and is holding a pipe. “Welcome to your training session for today, as you prepare to face John Cena and Edge. Now Chris, I am tasking you with preparing to face Cena, and I have just the material to help you.” Nash then reaches behind him and picks up a pile of CD’s and hands them to Sabin. “You’ve got Marky Mark, Vanilla Ice, Eminem, everything you need to prepare!” Sabin takes the CD’s and sifts through them, before stopping at one and holding it up. “Kev, I think you dropped you beer coaster.” The CD he holds up is John Cena’s album. Nash then turns to Shelley. “Alex, I am tasking you with preparing for the Edge.” He then turns round and picks up a pile of DVD’s and hands them to Shelley. “They are all top titles, Rated R!!!” “I’ll get researching right away Kev!!” Sabin then looks disappointed. “hey, can I have that and Alex have Cena?” Shelley then gets up and walks out of shot, before coming back. “Does anyone have any tissues?” The shot then cuts off.

Rhino vs. AJ Styles

With both men in the ring, AJ slaps Rhino in the face and then runs as Rhino gives chase. AJ slides out the ring and runs round it, before sliding back in. Then as Rhino slides in AJ puts in the boot. But as AJ then tries to whip Rhino into the ropes, Rhino reverses and then connects with a powerful clothesline. Rhino then slams AJ hard into the corner, before connecting with a belly to belly suplex. Rhino continues to dominate with his sheer strength, beating on AJ to the delight of the crowd. But the tide turns as he chares at AJ in the corner, and AJ is able to move, causing Rhino to crash shoulder first into the turnbuckle. AJ takes a moment, before then going on the attack, working on the shoulder that Rhino has hurt with a mixture of stiff blows and stretches. Eventually he hits his springboard reverse DDT and makes a cover, but Rhino is able to kick out. With the crowd then firmly behind him, Rhino starts to fight back delivering some stiff shots followed by a back elbow. The match is then anyone’s as both men exchange blows, but is Rhino who comes out on top, delivering a perfect spine buster to AJ. Rhino then crouches in the corner in wait. But he fails to see Carlito run down the ramp and grab his foot, causing Rhino to fal over. Carlito then enters the ring and goes on the attack as ref Charles Robinson calls for the bell for a DQ. Carlito is then joined by AJ as the two beat down on Rhino. Carlito then goes to the outside to retrieve a chair as flashbacks from last week ring through everyone’s mind. But the crowd the erupts in cheers as Jerry Lynn charges down to the ring, first connecting with a clothesline to AJ. He then ducks a wild swing of the chair by Carlito, before taking him down with a drop kick. Carlito and AJ then roll to the outside, as Lynn helps Rhino to his feet. AJ then snatches his Championship from Lillian before they back up the ramp, as Lynn and Rhino beckon them to come back.

We are then shown a promotion for the next time UCW is on PPV, Sunday 19th August, as Meltdown and Infest combine to bring you Hellbound.

We are then back at the announce table as we listen to Mike Tenay. “Last week, we saw CM Punk pick up a singles victory over Carlito. But it was the actions of Carlito after that match that were sickening. Lets just remind you of what went down.” We are then shown footage from last week, as Carlito cracked a chair into the back of Punk as he celebrated on the turnbuckle. In slow motion, we then see Carlito deliver two more shots to the back, before pulling Punk up and delivering the Back Cracker. The black and white shots then show Punk being placed in an ambulance as we return to Tenay. “Shocking images I’m sure you agree. Well yesterday I visited CM Punk in his home to get an update on his condition, and his mindset.

We then see footage on the big screen as we see CM Punk and Mike Tenay sitting in chairs in Punk’s lounge. “CM, last week you were on a high, you beat Carlito one on one in a gripping match, what was going through your mind?” “Joy, excitement. I had been haunted by what happened at Inception, and the win against Carlito reaffirmed my beliefs in my abilities. It was a great moment, the fans were loving it, it is the kind of moment that you join this business to have.” “But then came the first chair shot, crashing you to the mat. All that emotion, replaced by pain.” “It came out of nowhere. I wasn’t sure at first what had happened.” “Now we know from your days on the Indy circuit, after matches with the likes of raven, that you are fairly accustomed to punishment. But it didn’t stop there. Two more chair shots to the back, and then the Back Cracker. That is a lot of punishment for one part of the body to take. The EMT’s were clearly worried for you, as were a lot of the boys in the back, namely Rhino. Were you aware of being put in the ambulance, and if so what were you thinking?” “I was aware, there was a lot of commotion that kept me awake. As for what I was thinking, the same as anyone else when it is your back. How bad is it? When can I get back in the ring?” “And have you been told how long you will be out? What is your current condition.” “Thankfully there was no long term damage done. I have suffered a lot of bruising and some tenderness, but nothing long term. I am looking at a month maximum, just to allow it to heel and be at my best.” “Well we are certainly pleased to hear that. So do you have any words for Rhino who will face Carlito at Hellbound, or more to the point any words for Carlito?” “To Rhino, I say thanks for having my back and standing up for what we believe in, and I say when you face Carlito, break him, but leave some for me. As for Carlito, it’s simple. Watch your back. These injuries will heel, but the memory won’t go away. Sooner or later you will get what you deserve, and that will be a memory you will never forget!!” “CM, thanks for letting us into your home, and thanks for taking the time to speak to us. We hoe you heel well, and look forward to seeing you back in an Infest ring!” The two then shake hands as the shot fades away.

Back in the arena, familiar music hits and the crowd erupts in boo’s as ‘Cowboy’ James Storm makes his way to the ring, accompanied by Jackie Moore. As he enters, she snatches hold of a mic and gives it to him. “Chris, I know you are watching back there. Listen closely because I have got something to tell you. Now I will admit, as America’s Most Wanted we were a great tag team, possibly the best. But there is a reason for that Chris, and it ain’t you. You see Chris, the reason AMW was so successful....was me. I was the number one in the team…….I was the top dog……and damn i pretty much won 6 tag team championships on my own. But you see the problem with us Chris, was we got stale. People got bored of us….hell I got bored of us. People kept telling me you were holding me back, but it took me too long to see it. But you see the the great thing about discovering a problem….is that you then know how to fix it. You were the problem Chris….and I fixed that. First I got rid of you….then at Inception I put you in your place boy. Now….I have your replacement in the ‘Pride of Tennessee’ Jackie Moore. It’s [erfect, because I win the matches, and she has my back, a real pair of Tennessee Titans! So Chris, take a good look, because what you see before you is the new and improved America’s Most Wanted!!”

‘GUILTY’ The crowd then breaks out in cheers as the ‘Wildcat’ Chris Harris makes his way out onto the stage, a mic in his hand, before making his way down to the ring before coming to a stop just outside. “Hold it right there Chris…..this is my time…..my time.” Harris then takes a moment before replying. “So this is the new look America’s Most Wanted huh? Well from where I’m standing it looks like crap to me. Now you say that you were the number one member of AMW….I say that is rubbish. We were a team, 50/50. Everything we done, everything we earned….we earned together. But you chose to end that, and that at Inception thanks to jealousy you chose to cost me my spot at Hellbound. Then last week you chose to attack me from behind with help from your new friend there. Those were your choices Storm, and that’s fine. But now I am making choices of my own. I am here on Infest to prove to everyone including myself that I can be the best, and I can beat the best. Now I understand that I have to start from the bottom and work my way up, so I guess that’s where you figure. I have chosen my path here on Infest, and it’s one I aim to lead to glory. But I made another choice Storm. I chose to call an old friend of ours, and this old friend is just as pissed with your actions as I am. So much they decided to come here and tell you yourself!!” At that moment we see Gail Kim jump the guard rail and enter the ring, taking Jackie down from behind. Storm then turns and starts to pull her off, allowing Harris to slide into the ring and then clobber him from behind. Storm falls to the mat and quickly rolls out of the ring, still wanting none of Chris Harris. But he has left Jackie in the ring, who is then taken down by a clothesline from Gail. Then as she stumbles to her feet, Gail hit’s a dropkick, knocking Jackie through the ropes to the outside where she is helped by Storm as Chris Harris and Gail Kim raise their arms in the middle of the ring.

We are then shown a brief advert for Meltdown, where the ‘Icon’ Sting is currently UCW Champion, live every Wednesday night.

Backstage we then see Christy Hemme standing with Jonathan Coachman. “Coach, you have requested this time, what have you got to say?” “Well Christy, I am standing here on behalf of our General Manager Shane McMahon. He has given me to announcements he wants the made. The first is regarding next week and the two men who will compete in our Hellbound Main Event. He has decided that if they can co-exist tonight and win their tag team match, then next week they will get a chance to lay their hands on each other, via mystery opponents. Both men will face a pick your poison match, in which they will face an opponent of the others choosing, but only if they win tonight. And the second announcement is regarding Hellbound. After what we have just seen, and the issue boiling over the last few weeks, at Hellbound it will be James Storm and Jackie Moore teaming up to face Chris Harris and Gail Kim. Thank you.” With that Coach leaves.

It is now time for ‘Professor Ponders………..James Storm’ as we see Mike Tenay sitting by a fireplace. “When I think of James Storm I think of a man with all the talent in the world, but an aggressive side that lets him down. He was one half of one of the most successful tag teams of the modern era, but ego and jealousy have engulfed him and aggression has replaced compassion. Although his aggression has seen him make a successful start here on Infest, its not winning him many friends and could prove his downfall. But for now James Storm is happy to beat you, then take you for a beer to talk about how he beat you!” The shot then fades away.

We then join Mike Tenay and JBL at ringside. “Folks it has been another dramatic night here on Infest as we move ever closer to our second PPV, Hellbound. We now know that our fourth match at Hellbound will be James Storm and Jackie Moore versus Chris Harris and Gail Kim.” “A match made of bad blood Tenay, and one that can certainly be unpredictable with the added element of Jackie Moore and Gail Kim!!” “But before Hellbound we have one more Infest next week, and I am just getting word that on next weeks show it will be Jerry Lynn and Rhino teaming up to face Carlito and X Division Champion AJ Styles!” “Plus Tenay, if Edge and John Cena can co-exist then it will be pick your poison, and just who would they each pick as an opponent for the other!!” “A valid point John. It is time for our main event, where Shane McMahon is making Edge and John Cena tag together, and if they can get along for one match, they will get the chance of pick your poison next week. So lets hand over to Lillian Garcia!”

Main Event

John Cena & Edge vs. Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin w/Kevin Nash

With Nash sitting at the announce table, the match gets underway with Cena and Shelley. Shelley tries to gain the upper hand but is soon cut down by a strong clothesline from Cena. Cena is then in control, forcing Shelley to make the tag to Sabin. Sabin then comes in but having seen the dominance of Cena, his usual cockiness has gone. He attempts a wild swing but Cena ducks and takes him down with a stiff shot. Cena then slams him to the mat before tagging edge while he wasn’t paying attention. Edge then comes in and keeps the momentum going with a more ruthless approach. After hitting a few moves, he then takes Cena without Cena wanting to. Cena keeps strong, but the tide changes when he hit’s the ropes and Shelley connects with a knee to his back. Shelley and Sabin then methodically pick Cena apart as Edge watches with a smile on his face. But Cena fights back and heads to his corner for the tag, only for Edge to drop off the apron and back up the ramp. Cena is then caught from behind by Sabin. But Edge remembers that they need to win and runs back to the ring, climbing on the apron ready for a tag. Cena then fights back once more and this time tags in Edge. Edge then takes down Sabin and then Shelley as the momentum swings back. He then hit’s the Edgucution on Sabin and makes the cover, only for Shelley to break it up. Shelley then goes on the attack, joined by Sabin. Edge then tries to make the tag, but Cena drops off the apron and backs up the ramp. But he too then rethinks and runs back to the apron. Edge is then able to make the tag and Cena comes in like a tank, taking down both Shelley and Sabin. He then tosses Shelley out of the ring before hoisting Sabin onto his shoulders and hitting the FU. Cena then makes the cover and picks up the victory. Ref Rudy Charles then raises both men’s hands in victory, but both are quick to release the grip and stare each other down, talking trash as the show goes off the air!
