INFEST 27/07/07

Before the show gets underway, we are shown a highlights package from Inception, as we see Alex Shelley steal a victory for his team against CM Punk and Rhino. We see interference from James Storm enable Edge to beat Chris Harris, while John Cena wins a bruising encounter with Carlito. And in the Main Event, AJ Styles fakes injury to the catch his opponents unaware and snatch victory, becoming the first ever UCW X Division Championship. This is all to the PPV theme ‘Departure’ by Trivium. We then roll to the opening credits all to the theme song ‘Enemy’ by Fozzy.

As the show then goes live to the world amidst an explosion of pyro and light, the cameras pan around the sold out crowd, awash with screaming fans, replica t-shirts and signs.

‘YOU THINK YOU KNOW ME!’ The arena then erupts in boo’s as the ‘Rated R Superstar’ Edge makes his way to the ring, a smug grin on his face. He grabs hold of a mic as he enters the ring. “It has begun. The ‘Rated R’ era is almost upon us, just like I said it would be. On Sunday I told Christy Hemme that I would be victorious, and I kept my word. You see I am a man of my word, and just like I kept it on Sunday, I will keep it again at Hellbound. Because at Hellbound, the greatest moment in UCW will take place, as I will be crowned UCW World Heavyweight Champion. So instead of booing me, how about you all start showing a little respect, because in a months time I will be your cham…..”

‘MY TIME IS NOW!’ The crowd suddenly erupts as Edge is interrupted by the arrival of John Cena! Cena stands on the stage and salutes the crowd, before then coming down the ramp and being handed a mic as he enters the ring. “Hold it, hold it right there. Edge, what’s going on? Where is the live sex celebration? Where is the hot redhead? I mean come one, for once people actually had a reason to want to see you, and you don’t even deliver! Perhaps the redhead discovered that too! But joking aside, there is some serious business to take care. First I want to congratulate you on your victory. You fought hard and didn’t even need any help…….no wait a minute….that was me. You see Edge, I interrupted you tonight because I have a problem with what you are saying. You claim you will be the first ever World Heavyweight Champion, but there are two points that disagree with that. The first, is you couldn’t win on your own. If it hadn’t been for James Storm, I would be standing face to face with Chris Harris right now. And the second, well that is simple………….the champ……is …..here!” “Shut your mouth Cena, just shut it. It don’t need any help, I can’t beat you at Hellbound. Hell, I can’t beat you anytime I want….I am the ‘Rated R Superstar’ damn it.” “Well then why don’t you prove it!” With that Cena drops the mic, before tossing his cap and t-shirt into the crowd. He then steps forward and gets in Edge’s face, staring him out. Edge then backs up, looking to leave, when suddenly he turns back and slaps Cena round the face. Cena holds his jaw and then cracks a smile, before offloading with a series of punches. The two men then start to brawl as the crowd cheer. But a hoard of security pours down to the ring, doing everything they can to pull them apart. Then just as they have them separated, Cena breaks through and attacks Edge again. The security then regain control, holding each man in a separate corner.

‘HERE COMES THE MONEY’, General Manager Shane McMahon then makes his way down the ramp, entering the ring and standing in the middle. “That’s enough, keep them back security. Last Sunday at Inception was a landmark moment for Infest as we crowned our first UCW X Division Champion. At Hellbound, we will have another landmark moment when we crown our first ever World Heavyweight Champion, and the two of you are a part of that. But I will not let you ruin our Hellbound Main Event with mindless brawling. So that is it, no more. Next week we will have a contract signing for that Main Event, and part of that contract will be the two of you can’t lay a hand on each other until the match at Hellbound. But until then, Edge, I want you out of this ring and out of this building. I want you gone until next week when you come out to sign the contract. John, you are staying, because you are in the Main Event tonight against a man who was victorious at Inception, Alex Shelley. So go get yourself ready, and security, get Edge out of my building!” With that Shane leaves, as security deal with Edge and Cena.

We then join the ‘Professor’ Mike Tenay and JBL at the announce table. “Folks, welcome to the latest edition of Infest, and we are just five days removed from Inception, and what a night it was!” “It was a hell of a night Tenay, UCW put itself on the map and it’s only going to get stronger. And for me, it was a near perfect night bar one blemish, and that was Carlito being robbed of victory.” “Robbed? Were you watching with your eyes closed? John Cena out fought Carlito pure and simple. And don’t get me started on the other results! But folks, if you want to see for yourselves, then repeats are still available for order. But lets turn our attention to tonight, after that explosive start we just had. We just heard that Edge has been ordered to leave the building, while John Cena will be going one on one with Alex Shelley.” “It is an opportunity for the X Division to pick up another huge win over the heavyweights Tenay!” “Indeed John. We have also got the ‘War Machine’ Rhino in action, as well as ‘Cowboy’ James Storm. Plus how about this for sickening. AJ Styles will be having a coronation tonight.” “Why is that sickening Tenay? AJ Styles out fought two of the best to become our first ever UCW X Division Champion. He deserves to have a coronation, and you should be damn well be proud to get to see it, and proud to have him as our Champion!!!” “If you say so John! Il will concede though, that it was a high impact gruelling match. And none felt that more then Christopher Daniels, who won’t be here tonight after he nearly suffered a concussion when he clashed heads with Lynn and then was sent crashing head first onto the guard rail. We wish him all the best. But lets not delay any more, its time to get to the action!”

After his actions at Inception, Storm is in a buoyant mood as he goes into this match. The action is even to begin with, but Kazarian starts to gain the edge. But it isn’t long before Storm gains the upper hand, raking the eyes of Kazarian and then hitting a stiff clothesline. Storm then controls the match, taunting the crowd at every opportunity as he wears down his opponent. Kazarian mounts a comeback, but it is short lived as Storm eventually hit’s the Superkick to pick up the victory. He then milks the jeers as he celebrates, but the jeers switch to cheers as ‘Wildcat’ Chris Harris charges down to the ring and goes on the offensive. He gets ina few shots, but Storm drops to the mat and is able to scramble out of the ring, before jumping over the guard rail and into the crowd. Harris gives chase, jumping the rail himself in hot pursuit through the crowd.

Backstage, we then see Christy Hemme standing with CM Punk. “Punk, on Sunday you were robbed of victory by Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin at Inception. But despite that you put in a strong display to follow up the victories you had picked up in the last moth. Do you feel Sunday was a major setback, or just a minor blip?” “Christy, the way the match finished on Sunday was frustrating, very frustrating. I offered to be Rhino’s partner, and I feel like I let him down. But as you say, it was sneaky victory. For me, I learn from it and move on. I am here to make an impact, and that is what I will continue to do.” His attention is then distracted as we see Carlito appear clapping. “Very moving, a great speech. But it doesn’t change the fact that you lost to the X Division on Sunday. You blew it Punk, pure and simple.” “In case you didn’t notice Carlito, you lost too. In fact, if you compare us, things are much worse for you. I was caught unaware by a cheap roll up, while you…..you tapped out. Plus if anyone blew it, it was you buddy, because you blew the chance to go to Hellbound and battle for the World Heavyweight Championship!” “Shut up, that’s not cool. Carlito comes here for a talk and you just insult me. If I wasn’t still sore from Inception I would beat some respect into you right now.” “Well if you can’t do it tonight, then how about next week we see who the better man is!” “You’re on Punk….Carlito will see you next week!”

We then find ourselves in a locker room looking through the Shelley Cam, which is being held by Chris Sabin. We see Alex Shelley and Kevin Nash sitting in front of it. Shelley is at first checking that Sabin is using it properly, before then sitting back as Nash speaks. “Hey, I just want to congratulate you guys on your win on Sunday, you made me proud!” Sabin then reaches out a hand from behind the camera and high fives Shelley. “I even have something for you, to commemorate you triumph over the heavyweights.” Nash then reaches behind him, before picking up two medals, handing one to Shelley and one to Sabin. We hear Sabin, “Thanks man!” Shelley takes a look at his medal, “This is a gymnastics medal!” Nash looks at him, “That doesn’t matter guys, it’s a Kevin Nash appreciation medal.” Shelley then gives Nash a hug, “Thanks Kev!” As he sits back down, Nash gets a little serious. “Now didn’t I tell you that a win on Sunday would open up opportunities? Tonight Alex, you get to take on John Cena in the Main Event. And when you beat him, I can’t see why you couldn’t take his place in the Main Event at Hellbound. Just picture it, Alex Shelley, World Heavyweight Champion!” Shelley looks at the imaginary headline in the air and smiles, “I can see it Kev!” Sabin then puts down the camera and we hear him talking to Shelley as the camera is now facing a photo frame containing a photo of Nash, Shelley and Sabin on a beach.

Our parking lot cameras then show Chris Harris burts through the doors in chase of Storm, only for Storm to jump into his car and burn off, leaving an angry Harris frustrated.

Rhino vs. Damaja

As Damaja settles in the ring, the crowd rise to their feet as ‘WAR!!’ Rhino appears on the stage, pounding his chest before charging down to the ring. Clearly full of pent up rage from Inception, Rhino is quick to want the match to start. As the proceedings get underway, we are bemused to the arrival of Father James Mitchell on the stage, watching the match with great intent. Rhino starts off the stronger, using his sheer power to dominate Damaja. Whipping him into the ropes and connecting with a powerful clothesline, and then following up with a belly to belly suplex as Damaja stumbles to his feet. The momentum shifts though when Rhino charges into the corner, but Damaja moves and Rhino connects with the turnbuckle instead. Damaja then takes advantage and starts to flourish. But it shifts back as Rhino powers back with a Spinebuster. In the end, Rhino hit’s a devastating Gore to pick up the victory to the delight of the crowd.  We see Father James Mitchell give a small round of applause to the victor, seemingly impressed with the performance of Rhino before he makes his way backstage.

Backstage, we see Christy Hemme standing outside the X Division Locker room. “Tonight we are set to have the coronation of AJ Styles as the first UCW X Division Champion, I am here to determine just what the X Division locker room thinks about that.” She then knocks on the door, “Lady coming in!” As she walks in, we see a variety of the X Division superstars warming up and playing cards. “Guys, I am here to get your opinions on AJ Styles and his coronation tonight. Lethal and Dutt then both stand up, as Lethal speaks first. “It’s a disgrace Christy. He didn’t earn that Championship, he took the low road to win it. He has no respect for anyone, and I have no respect for him.” Dutt then chips in, “And to go as far as having a coronation, that’s just an insult.” We then see Sharkboy give a double thumbs down, before Matt Bentley steps forward and chimes in. “Personally I’m glad for him. AJ has been X Division virtually all his career, he deserves to be a champion, and I am glad he is.” Jonny Devine then backs him up. “So do I. You should all just get off his back and support the guy.” Kazarian, who is laying on a treatment table nursing an icepack on his jaw then chimes in. “What? That’s just crazy talk. AJ is an ass, pure and simple.” Christy then turns to Jerry Lynn, who has been sitting at the back of the locker room in silence. “What about you Jerry? You would have more of an opinion then anyone.” Lynn just looks up, before getting to his feet and walking out of the room. Christy then turns to the camera. “Well you have heard the opinion of the X Division, and the coronation of their champion is coming up next!”

We are then shown a vignette. We see Jonathan Coachman standing out the front of the UCW head office tower, suited up and a little nervous as he glances at his watch. We then see a white Limo pull up in front of him, and he walks down the steps to it. The passenger door then opens on the far side, and we see Ms Brooks step out. She then walks round and opens the door by Coach, and out steps Robert Roode, dressed in a power suit as he glances up at the building. Coach then speaks. “Welcome to UCW…” But he is then cut off by Roode. “Let me guess, where the big boys play? Yeah I heard it all before Coach. You know, I could buy this building and everyone in it, and that would include you Coach. I could own you, you remember that.” Coach, unsure how to respond, asks Roode to follow him up the stairs into the building. As Coach then holds the door open for him, Roode goes to enter, but stops for one moment. “Let me tell you something very important Coach……..it pays….to be Roode!” He then laughs and adjusts his suit jacket before entering. The shot then fades away and is replaced by text that reads ‘Robert Roode Coming To Infest….Next Week!’

As we return to the arena, we see Jonathan Coachman standing in the ring, which has been covered by red carpet. There is a throne in the middle of the ring, and there is a wooden stand with the UCW X Division Championship sitting on it. Red carpet also runs all the way up the ramp. “Ladies and Gentleman, the time is upon us to embrace the first Champion to be crowned here on Infest. He is a man who barely needs any introduction. A name synonymous with the X Division, he is athletic, innovative and highly talented…he is simply Phenomenal…..your X Division Champion……AJ Styles!!!!”

‘EVERYDAY IN MY LIFE’ The music then hits and AJ appears on the ramp to a chorus of boos! As he then makes his way down the ramp, ticker tap falls from the ceiling engulfing the arena. As he enters the ring, Coach shakes his hand and then offers him his place on the throne. As AJ sits down, he picks up the mic on the arm of the throne, as Coach speaks. “AJ, let me just say it is an honour to be hosting this coronation, and it is an honour to be the man who crowns you the X Division Champion. So tell us Champ, how does it feel?” “Well Coach, it would like to say it feels great, but I would be lying. And that’s because it feels simply Phenomenal. I have worked hard for this moment Coach, at Inception I laid it all on the line to become the champion. I was in the ring with two former greats, and I was the better man. There is no one more deserving to be the first to hold that Championship then me.” “I couldn’t agree more AJ, and with that in mind lets not wait any longer.” Coach then picks up the X Division Championship but as he steps forward his attention turns to the ramp as the crowd rise to their feet. The music hits and Jerry Lynn appears ion stage, making his way down the ramp and into the ring. He then grabs the mic off Coach, as well as the X Division Championship. AJ then gets to his feet, “What the hell are you doing Jerry?” Lynn then glares at him before replying. “AJ, if anyone is going to crown you with your Championship, then shouldn’t it be the man you beat to win it? You see AJ, I’m a man of honour, I can take being out here and handing you this Championship, but I do it with a message. You see at Inception, there were three men in the ring, and that meant you didn’t have my full focus. And at Inception, you saw the opportunity to take the low road, and you took it. At that moment, any respect I had for you disappeared. But I have some good news for you AJ, you have a chance to earn that respect back. You see I come out with official news from General Manager Shane McMahon. Your first Championship defence will be at Hellbound, and AJ…..it will be against me. So one on one, man to man, you will have my full focus, you will have my full attention and AJ, I plan to give that Championship the respect that it deserves….and that means taking it from you!” With that he shoves the Championship into AJ’s arms and drops the mic, before then making his exit. AJ then turns to Coach and is asking if that is true, while clutching the Championship close.

It is then time for ‘Professor Ponders…………Edge’ as we see Mike Tenay sitting by a fireplace. “When I think of Edge, I think of a man with so much talent but a bad attitude. We have all followed Edge and the rise of his career. From being one half of one of the greatest tag teams in history, to being a successful solo star. He had his times where his attitude wasn’t the best, but generally he was loved by the fans. But all that changed the moment the ‘Rated R Superstar’ was born. With or without Lita by his side, there I no other like Edge. He plays by his own rules, and he stops at nothing to try and get what he wants. His unorthodox approach to the business has seen live sex celebrations, sexual pins, flaming table Spears and much, much more. Infest has a very bright future from where I am sitting, and I can guarantee that Edge will be a big part of that!” The shot then fades away.

We then join Mike Tenay and JBL at ringside. “What a night it has been folks, it has certainly been crazy. And Hellbound is already starting to take shape John.” “It most certainly is Tenay. We already know that there will be two championship matches, as AJ Styles will defend his X Division Championship for the first time against the pioneer of the X Division, Jerry Lynn. Plus we will crown our first ever UCW World Heavyweight Champion, as Edge and John Cena do battle in the Main Event!” “Hellbound is already proving to be a must see event. And so is next week, as we will have Carlito versus CM Punk, which has been made official. We will have the debut of Robert Roode, and the contract signing between Edge and John Cena!” “I can’t wait for Roode to debut next week Tenay. I know him well and he will have a very bright future here on infest, maybe even the next JBL!” “Well we will wait and see John. But tonight isn’t quite over yet, because we now have our main event, as John Cena takes on Alex Shelley. So lets hand over to Lillian Garcia.

With Nash at the announce table, the match gets underway with Shelley trying to be cocky. But it is short lived as Cena uses his strength to overpower his opponent. Cena then controls the early part of the match, pumping up the crowd as he takes down Shelley with the throwback. But interference from Sabin catches Cena off guard, and allows Shelley to get back in the game. Shelley then has a strong spell as he works over Cena, picking up a couple of near falls. He even locks in the Shelley Special No.2, but Cena is able to make the ropes. But eventually Cena fights back, hitting several shoulder blocks followed by a side sit-down Powerbomb. As the momentum shifts back to Cena, Sabin tries to interfere once more, but this time is sent packing by a stiff right from Cena. Sabin can then only watch as Cena hoists Shelley onto his shoulders and delivers the FU, before then picking up the victory. As Shelley then rolls to then outside, Cena celebrates with the crowd. But he fails to see Edge jump the guard rail and slide into the ring. Then as Cena turns round, Edge takes him down with the Spear. The show then goes off the air with Edge pulling back his hair, his psychotic eyes glaring at the prone Cena.
