INFEST 13/07/07
Before the show gets underway, we are shown brief highlights from last week as General Manager Shane McMahon announces
two big matches for Inception to decide who will contest for the World Heavyweight Championship at our second PPV. We also
see the ‘War Machine’ Rhino come to the aid of Jeff Jarrett ion his debut appearance, plus the in ring debut of
the ‘Fallen Angel’ Christopher Daniels, followed by a three way stare down with Jerry Lynn and AJ Styles.
We are then shown a shot of Carlito standing backstage, an apple in his hand. “Tonight sees the first ever edition
of my Cabana, live here on Infest. Now that….that’s cool!!” He then takes a bite of his apple and spits
it at the camera as the shot fades away. We then roll to the opening credits, all to the theme song ‘Enemy’ by
Fozzy.
As the show goes live amidst an explosion of pyro and bright lights, the cameras pan around the sold out crowd, the stands
awash with cheering fans, replica t-shirts and signs.
We then join the ‘Professor’ Mike Tenay and JBL at ringside. “Folks, welcome to the latest edition of
UCW Infest, and what a show we have in store for you tonight. But first, it is my duty to inform you that due to personal
reasons, Jeff Jarrett will not be with us here tonight. At this time, it is unknown if or when he will return to the ring,
and he sends his thanks to all those who have supported him throughout his career. I would just like to take this moment to
tell Jeff that our thoughts and prayers are with him. But Jeff loves this business, and he would want the show to go on, and
go on it will! Hot on the heels of last week’s announcement, we have Carlito’s Cabana with a yet unknown guest.
We will also see Chris Sabin in action as he claims that Rhino’s victory last week was a fluke, and tonight he proves
it by fighting who he claims to be the ‘toughest’ man on the roster! But who does he have in mind?” “Plus
Tenay we have got an intriguing Main Event, as all three men who will contest the X Division Championship triple threat at
Inception will be in action. It is a triple threat tag team match, with al three men choosing a mystery partner that they
can’t reveal until the match itself. Personally I think that is a great idea by Mr McMahon, as the unknown quantity
will keep them on their toes ahead of Inception!!” “It is certainly a night of intrigue John, so let us not wait
any longer, because coming up next we have got John Cena in action! So let’s hand over to Lillian Garcia for the first
action of the night!!!”
John Cena vs. Stevie Richards
With Richards standing in the ring, the crowd waits in anticipation. ‘MY TIME IS NOW!’ The arena then erupts
as John Cena comes out onto the stage, saluting the crowd before making his way down to the ring. As the action gets underway,
it is Cena in control from the start, using his raw power to get ahead, whipping Richards into the ropes and taking him down
with a jumping shoulder block. Cena continues to control the match, and although Richards mounts a brief fight back, in the
end Cena hoists him onto his shoulders and delivers the FU to pick up the victory. Cena then gets to his feet and celebrates
with the crowd.
Backstage, we see Christy Hemme standing with ‘Cowboy’ James Storm. “James, since Infest first began,
you have been on a bit of a roll, although perhaps a questionable one. How are you finding your start here on Infest?”
“You started off so well Christy, but then you blew it. You’re right, I have been on a roll, but to call it a
questionable one…girl you need your eyes fixed. But as for my start here on Infest, hell I have made a stronger start
then anybody, especially my former partner Chris Harris. Yet here I stand as a a man on a roll, while he has a match at Inception
with the chance to get a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship. Now can someone explain that to me? It’s not my
fault that after my match last week I had to leave for a personal issue. Yet I’m gone five minutes and suddenly I’m
getting calls saying ‘Did you hear about Chris?’ It’s a joke. I stand here right now 2-0 here on Infest,
yet Chris spent five minutes in the ring pretending he had some balls and he could be a champion. It’s a goddamn outrage.”
With that he takes a swig of beer and walks off.
We are then shown a video advertising that on Meltdown and Infest unite to bring you their first PPV offering, Inception,
live on Sunday July 22nd.
‘I SPIT IN THE FACE, OF PEOPLE WHO DON’T WANT TO BE COOL!’ Carlito then makes his way down to the ring,
which is set up with palm trees, baskets of apples and a hammock in it. “Welcome to Infest’s first ever edition
of Carlito’s Cabana! Now Carlito is here to bring you the number one talk show in professional wrestling, with the best
guests, top class questions and….well…Carlito. Now I could have gone for the big name guest, you know, choose
a huge start for my inaugural Cabana. Someone like John Cena, my opponent at Inception. Or even Edge, the man whose moaning
gave us all the opportunity we now have at Inception. But that would be too obvious. Instead Carlito wants to do something
different, he wants his Cabana to be surprising. So instead of picking from the top, I have picked form the bottom. So please
welcome my guest, the man who is certainly the odd one out at Inception, ‘Wildcat’ Chris Harris!
‘GULITY!’ With that the crowd get to their feet as a less then impressed Chris Harris makes his way to the
ring, mic in hand. “Chris, Chris, let me congratulate you on the achievement of being the first ever guest on my Cabana!!
But that is enough of the niceties, how about we get down to business. How does it feel to be the luckiest man alive, considering
how you actually have a match at Inception?” Harris goes to reply but is cut off. “I mean come one, I’m
sure you are good enough to be on Infest, but to have a shot at being World Heavyweight Champion, I don’t think so.
Let’s face it, you should just enjoy the moment while you can, because the following ,month, as Carlito lifts the gold…you
will most probably be in the unemployment line. So te….” But he is cut off as Harris puts his hand on Carlito’s
mic. “Why don’t you just shut your mouth. You think I’m lucky? Hell we are all lucky…..lucky to be
standing here as a part of this business. Lucky to be given the opportunity to do what we do best week in week out. Lucky
to be given the opportunity to become the flagship of this show, to become an immortal. But you say I’m undeserving….well
I say you are full of crap. I have earned my chance, I have worked hard all my life, giving everything I have to be the best.
I am a seven time NWA Tag Team Champion. I came within a breath of being NWA World Champion, only to be robbed of it. I have
paid my dues, but I will still continue to work hard, and on Sunday at Inception I plan to beat Edge and move on to compete
for the World Heavyweight Championship…..against John Cena!!!” Carlito picks up an apple. “Hold on one second.
You think Carlito will lose to Vanilla Ice? I invite you onto my show, and you disrespect me. That, that’s not cool!”
With that he takes a bite of the apple and spits it in the face of Harris. Harris turns away and wipes his face, holding there
for a moment before unleashing a left hook that clocks Carlito. Harris then goes on the offensive, but it is short lived as
Edge runs down the ramp and into the ring, before attacking Harris from behind. It then becomes a two on one as the crowd
jeer. But the jeers turn to cheers as John Cena charges down to the ring. Sending first Carlito sprawling, and then Edge.
He is then joined by Harris and the two men send Edge and Carlito scampering out of the ring. Edge and Carlito then back up
the ramp, as Cena and Harris stand tall in the ring.
We are then shown a vignette. We are once again following Ms Brooks as she walks along an office corridor, paperwork in
her hand. She then enters the main office as we see Robert Roode working out on a bench press in the corner of his office.
“1001, 1002, 1003.” He then stops as Ms Brooks appears by his side. “My apologies for the interruption Mr
Roode, but the new contracts are in.” Roode gets to his feet, wiping his brow with a towel before walking over to the
window, looking out onto the vast scenery below. He continues to look through the window as Ms Brooks talks. “The deal
with ExtraFlex has been completed, they are delighted you are going to endorse their product. Maxim have requested you attend
a photo shoot for some shots to accompany your interview, and BuzzCorps have signed a merchandising agreement with us. They
are keen to arrange a meeting to brainstorm some ideas for initial Robert Roode merchandise. Oh and one more thing. Shane
McMahon’s secretary rang to conform they had received your signed contract, and they look forward to working with you!”
With that she heads over to his desk and places the paperwork down, as Roode starts to speak. “I stand here, and I look
down at all the people passing below like little tiny ants, and then I think of myself standing here…..and one solitary
though keeps running through my mind.” “And what is that Mr Roode?” He then turns with a smile on his face;
“It pays….to be Roode!!” The image then fades away and is replaced by text that reads ‘Robert Roode…..coming
soon!’
Backstage, we then see Christy Hemme standing with Jerry Lynn. “Jerry, in just over a weeks time you will be competing
in a triple threat match at Inception to determine the first ever UCW X Division Champion. But first tonight you have a triple
threat tag team match, but can you give us any information about your mystery partner?” “Christy, you know I can’t
tell you much. But I can tell you that he is X Division through and through, and I guarantee he is set to be a star. As for
Inception, I can’t wait. It is an honour for the X Division to have the spotlight, to be in the Main Event. It is an
honour for me to be a part of that and to become the first UCW X Division Champion would be a great highlight in my career.
I have helped build an X Division before, and I am keen to do it again…starting tonight!” With that he leaves.
We are then reminded that we can see Meltdown, live every Wednesday.
Chris Sabin w/Alex Shelley & Kevin Nash vs. Sharkboy
As Kevin Nash takes a seat at the announce table, we discover that the so called ’toughest’ man on the roster
is actually Sharkboy. The action is fast paced from the start, with Sharkboy giving Sabin the early run around. But via a
little help from Shelley, the momentum switches and Sabin takes control. Sabin is then dominant, and although the cult hero
Sharkboy tries to battle back, in the end he succumbs to the Cradle Shock, as Chris Sabin picks up the victory. Sabin is then
joined in the ring by Shelley and Nash, who raises his hand in victory.
Nash then grabs a mic. “First of all I would like to congratulate Chris Sabin on a superb victory in what was a gruelling
match! But let me get down to business. Now my boys had planned to issue a challenge tonight, a challenge to prove just how
great the X Division is, and that challenge was going to be directed at Jeff Jarrett and Rhino for a tag match at Inception….heavyweights
versus X Division. But seeing as circumstances make that not possible, we instead would like to issue that challenge to anyone
else in the back.
‘WAR!’ The crowd then breaks out in cheers as the ‘War Machine’ Rhino makes his way down the ramp,
mic in hand. But as he enters the ring, Sabin takes the mic off of Nash. “Hold on one second there Rhino, are you really
as dumb as you look? Our challenge is to two people to take us on in a tag team match, and for where I am standing, you haven’t
got a partner!!” Rhino paces for a moment before replying. “That’s right, I don’t have a partner.
But I heard a challenge issued, and that challenge was meant for me. Now I don’t know how well you know me…but
I never back down from a fight. They call me the ‘War Machine’, and War is exactly what I bring. So it doesn’t
matter if it’s two on one, because I’m in. But there is just one thing….why wait until Inception!!”
He then drops the mic and connects with stiff shots to Sabin and then Shelley. He then takes down each one with a clothesline,
only to be cut off by a big boot to the head from Nash. Nash then points at the fallen Rhino, telling Shelley and Sabin to
finish the job, before climbing out of the ring. It is then a two on one affair, but the crowd suddenly break into cheers
as CM Punk charges down the ramp. He then fends off both Sabin and Shelley, sending them to the outside. Punk then checks
on Rhino before picking up a mic. “Now he has a partner! See you at Inception!” With that he tosses the mic aside
before then helping Rhino to his feet, as the two then shake hands.
Backstage we see the ‘Coach’ Jonathan Coachman walking down a corridor, when he passes AJ Styles who is talking
to someone that is hidden behind a wall. Coach then stops for a moment and stares, “So that is who you have picked as
you partner?” He then shakes his head before continuing on. Coach then comes to a stop at a door labelled ‘General
Managers Office’, on which he knocks before entering. “You asked to see me boss?” Shane is sitting at his
desk, watching a monitor. He then turns and addresses Coach. “I need you to pas on some information regarding next weeks
show. After what I saw earlier, our Main Event is going to be Edge teaming up with Carlito to take on John Cena and Chris
Harris! Let them sort out their differences so they can focus on their matches at Inception. Plus I want you to tell all three
of our X Division contenders that next week I will address them all in the ring personally to make sure they are aware of
their responsibilities at Inception.” “I will get on it right away boss.” With that Coach leaves as Shane
returns his attention to the monitor.
It is now time for ‘Professor Ponders…….Rhino’ as we see an image of Mike Tenay sitting by a fireplace.
“When I think about the ‘War Machine’ Rhino, I think about a man who could be a shining example to us all.
Here is man who hit rock bottom, who grew up on the cold hard streets, leading an unsavoury life. He lost it all, yet he got
himself together. He worked hard and gained focus, and he pulled himself off the bottom, slowly rising to the very top. He
has made the most of what he was given, and some of those gifts are sheer power and strength. He has a high threshold for
taking pain, and the immense capacity for dishing it out. A destructive force on legs, Rhino is defiantly a dominant and effective
species in wrestling. So to all those who oppose him, my advice is watch out; because one blink of an eye and you could be
cut down by the Gore!” With that the image fades away.
We then join Mike Tenay and JBL at ringside. “John, what a great night it has been, and it isn’t even over
yet. We have learnt from Shane McMahon that next week we will see one hell of a Main Event, as Edge and Carlito team up to
take on John Cena and Chris Harris!!” “That’s Mr McMahon Tenay, when are you going to learn to show some
respect?” Fine, we also heard that next week in the ring Mr McMahon will personally address AJ Styles, Jerry Lynn and
Christopher Daniels regarding their responsibilities at Inception.” “And I don’t blame him Tenay. Inception
is UCW’s first PPV and we all want it to go off without a hitch. I fully understand that Mr McMahon wants to make sure
that Infest is a shining example at Inception, and his address next week will achieve that!” “I am also getting
word that our fourth match at Inception has just been made official. It will be Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley taking on Rhino
and CM Punk. What a line up! But that is all a week away, and we still have our Main Event tonight. So lets hand over to Lillian
Garcia for the action.
Main Event
Jerry Lynn & ? vs. Christopher Daniels & ? vs. AJ Styles & ?
As the music hits, the first out is Jerry Lynn, as we see that his chosen partner his Jay Lethal. The two then make their
way to the ring to a strong reaction. The music then changes as the ‘Fallen Angel’ Christopher Daniels appears
on stage, before revealing his partner to be another young star, Sonjay Dutt. As they enter the ring, the crowd reaction is
a again positive. ‘EVERYDAY IN MY LIFE!’ Boo’s then start to fill the arena as AJ Styles appears on the
ramp. A mic in hand, he then starts to make his way down to the ring alone. “Bravo, bravo. I gotta hand it to you both,
you picked two great partners. In fact, there wasn’t anyone left in the X Division to pick that wasn’t busy tonight.
So instead, I have had to make do with this guy.”
‘THE WORLDS LARGEST LOVE MACHINE, VISCERA!’ AJ then cracks a smile and points at his head as his partner Viscera
makes his way to the ring. The match then starts off with Daniels and Lynn in the ring. Fast paced, it isn’t long before
Lethal is tagged in, and then Dutt to get a piece of the action, all the while AJ avoids the tag. But eventually he is caught
unawares, as Lethal tags him in. AJ then enters, a cocky expression on his face as he sees he is facing Dutt. But as he goes
on the offensive, Dutt sends him sprawling back across the ring with an arm drag takeover followed up by a dropkick. AJ then
makes the tag, bringing Viscera into play. Vis then dominates, sending his opponents crashing one by one. Eventually all four
men team up to send Viscera sprawling out of the ring. The action then continues, with AJ and Lynn taking each other over
the top rope to the outside. Daniels then launches himself onto them both. Not wanting to miss out, Lethal then dives to the
outside, hitting everyone except AJ who fell out of the way. Seeing the pile of bodies, Dutt fires up and hit’s the
ropes only to be cut off by a devastating clothesline from Viscera. Vis then picks him up and delivers the Eviscerater, leaving
Dutt crumpled on the mat. Sneaky AJ then climbs the turnbuckle and hits an inch perfect Spiral Tap, before making the cover
as Vis stands guard, picking up the win AJ is then quick to leave the ring, with ref Rudy Charles raising his arm in victory
on the ramp as AJ taps the side of his head, as the show goes off the air..
