INFEST 06/07/07
Before the show gets underway, we are shown brief highlights from last week as Shane McMahon makes an announcement about
UCW’s first PPV Inception, while Edge tells Jeff Jarrett to watch his back, and Kevin Nash tells Alex Shelley &
Chris Sabin he has a good opportunity for them. We are also shown snips of the four debutants in action, finishing with John
Cena celebrating on the turnbuckle.
We then find ourselves in the parking lot as we see a car pull up. The door opens and the ‘Rated R Superstar’
Edge gets out. He retrieves a bag from the boot and starts to make his way towards the arena. As he reaches the entrance door,
we Kevin Nash standing there. Edge stops as he reaches him. “Is everything set for tonight?” Nash breaks a smile
as he responds. “You know me, old reliable. Of course, it’s all ready to go.” With that the two men head
into the arena as we roll to the opening credits, all to the theme ‘Enemy’ by Fozzy.
As Infest goes live with an explosion of pyro, the camera pans around the sold out arena to soak up some of the atmosphere
before we join the ‘Professor’ Mike Tenay and JBL at the announce table. “Folks, welcome to the latest edition
of UCW Infest. I’m Mike Tenay alongside my broadcast colleague JBL, and John, what do you make of the footage we just
saw?” “Why does it have to be suspicious Tenay? It’s just two guys having a conversation, most probably
discussing championship reigns; a subject you know nothing about ‘Professor’!!” “You may have been
a champion JBL, but now you are in my world, and when it comes to announcing I am Champion and you are the understudy!! Now
with that said can we focus on business.” “Understudy????” “My apologies folks. Tonight I can tell
you that we will see Jeff Jarrett make his in ring debut as he faces off with the ‘Cowboy’ James Storm. CM Punk
will also be in action tonight, and we have a cracking Main Event lined up. Last week we heard from General Manager Shane
McMahon that at our first PPV Inception, it will be a triple threat match to crown the first ever UCW X Division Champion.
We have already seen two thirds of that match, Jerry Lynn and AJ Styles in action. Tonight in our Main Event we will see the
final piece of the puzzle, the ‘Fallen Angel’ Christopher Daniels make his debut in what will one very exciting
match against another future star, Jay Lethal.” “Christopher Daniels should enjoy the spotlight, because at Inception
it will be all about AJ Styles Tenay, mark my words.” “That’s your opinion John, but you should not right
Daniels and Jerry Lynn off so easily. But that is for later, right now it is time to hand over to Lillian Garcia for our first
action of the night.”
Jeff Jarrett vs. ‘Cowboy’ James Storm
With the crowd firmly behind Jeff Jarrett, the King of the Mountain starts the match with a flurry. He controls early on,
but Storm is no fool and is able to sneak his way back into the match. Storm dominates for a while as we see Alex Shelley
and Chris Sabin come down to stand at ringside. As the crowd rally, Jarrett starts to fight back and turns the tide. Eventually
he is in control and is setting Storm up for the Stroke when Shelley jumps onto the apron. This draws the attention of official
Nick Patrick who confronts him. Jarrett hit’s the Stroke and makes the cover, but Patrick is not watching. Frustrated,
Jarrett gets up to confront Patrick, but he fails to see Sabin enter the ring behind him, and the X Division star connects
with a low blow, dropping Jarrett to his knees.. Sabin then rolls out of the ring and Shelley drops of the apron as Storm
starts to pull himself up. As Patrick returns to the action he sees Jarrett trying to stagger up, only to be caught sweet
on the jaw by a Superkick form Storm. Storm then drops on Jarrett for the cover to steal the win. As Storm then rolls out
of the ring and stumbles up the ramp, his arm raised in celebration, Shelley and Sabin enter the ring. As the crowd jeer,
the two men set about putting a beating on Jarrett. But the crowd then erupts as the ‘War Machine’ Rhino runs
down the ramp and into the ring. He offloads with stiff punches that send Shelley and Sabin to the mat, before they roll out
of the ring and back up the ramp. Rhino then checks on Jarrett before retrieving a mic. “You wanna fight? Then how about
tonight one of you steps in the ring with me!!! And I can promise you this….I will make you feel the GORE, GORE,GORE!!!!!!!!”
Shelley and Sabin shake their heads as the make their out the back.
We are then shown a brief clip advertising Meltdown, live every Wednesday night.
We then see General Manager Shane McMahon at his desk watching a monitor when there is a knock on the door and Coach enters.
“You called for me boss?” Shane turns his attention to Coach. “I did. I want you to go and tell Chris Sabin
to get himself ready because he has a match tonight.” “No problem boss.” Coach turns to leave, but stops
as he opens the door. “Who is he facing boss?” Shane then cracks a smile. “Tell him his opponent tonight……is
Rhino!!” With that he returns his attention to the monitor as Coach leaves.
CM Punk vs. Stevie Richards
The match Is an entertaining affair, with the crowd clearly on the side of Punk. There was some back and forth action,
with Richards giving a fair account of himself. But in the end Punk was the stronger of the two, hitting the Pepsi Plunge
off the turnbuckle to pick up the victory. A good way to introduce himself to UCW Infest.
Backstage, we see Christy Hemme standing with AJ Styles. “I’m here with one of the three men who will headline
the Infest half of our first PPV Inception, where he will be competing in a triple threat match to crown the first ever UCW
X Division Champion. That man is the ‘Phenomenal’ AJ Styles. We have already seen yourself and Jerry Lynn in action,
and tonight we see Christopher Daniels. How are you feeling about the triple threat match?” “how am I feeling?
I feel great Christy. Why would I be feeling anything else? Last week I not only picked up my debut win here on Infest, but
I was told I would headline the first UCW PPV, Inception. A wise choice I add. Now I stand here knowing that in just over
two weeks time I will be crowned the first ever UCW X Division Champion.” “What makes you so sure?” AJ cuts
her a dirty look, and then laughs. “It’s simple, even you can understand. Jerry Lynn is a has been who should
just retire, and Christopher Daniels is someone I have beaten time and time again, not just in this country, but all over
the world. They always say the best man wins, and I am by far the best man. And do you know why?” Christy answers sarcastically,
“Tell me.” AJ pulls down his hood as he responds. “Because Lynn is simply to old, Daniels is simply not
good enough and I……..I am simply phenomenal!!!” With that he walks off as Christy rolls her eyes.
Rhino w/Jeff Jarrett vs. Chris Sabin w/Alex Shelley
Clearly keen to make an impact here on Infest, Rhino was rearing to go. The match started fast paced, with Sabin trying
to use his speed and agility to avoid Benoit’s sheer power. Rhino though was able to use his raw aggression to take
advantage early on, handing a beating to Sabin. Eventually the tide turned with some help from Shelley, and Sabin showcased
his ability as he frustrated Rhino. But Rhino is a hard man to keep down, and he eventually worked his way back into the match
to the delight of the crowd. After hitting several slams, Rhino floored Sabin with an inch perfect spine buster. Rhino then
uncharacteristically went for the top rope, only for Shelley to climb on the apron and push him off. This led to Jarrett getting
involved, as he brawled with Shelley into the crowd. In the ring Sabin hoisted Rhino onto his shoulders to the surprise of
the crowd, looking for the Cradle Shock, but Rhino was able to wriggle free and drop to his feet, before levelling Sabin with
a stiff clothesline. Rhino then crouched in the corner and waited, then as Sabin staggered to his feet, Rhino nearly cut him
in half with a Gore. He then made the cover to pick up the victory to the delight of the crowd. Sabin then rolled out the
ring, clutching his midriff tight as Rhino celebrated.
We are then shown a vignette. We are shown a shot from behind of a dark haired woman in a suit walking through a very modern
and sophisticated building, an A4 envelope in her hand. She walks from the ground level into a lift, passed hundreds of people
all going about their business. We see that the lift comes to a stop on the 30th floor, and she steps out as the
door opens. She then walks through a bust corridor, the bustle of computers, phones and people can be heard. She approaches
a glass door with some writing on it, but we can’t quite make out what it says other than ‘Chairman’. As
she enters we see a huge pine desk with work scattered on it. Behind the desk we see a big leather chair with its back to
us. As she approaches the desk the camera pans round and we see that the woman is Ms Brooks. As she approaches the desk, she
tosses the envelope onto it and speaks. “Your contract has arrived.” With that the chair rotates round and we
see the person sitting in it…….Robert Roode. “Excellent, it’s about time this arrived.” He opens
the envelope and pulls out the contract, thumbing through the pages. As he gets to the back we see where he has to sign. He
picks up an ink stamp and presses it over the page, leaving a symbol and the words ‘Robert Roode Inc.’ He then
picks up a pen and signs it, before handing it back to Ms Brooks. “Send that back via express delivery. It’s about
time UCW discovered that it pays…to be Roode!” The vignette then ends.
‘YOU THINK YOU KNOW ME!!!’ The arena erupts in boo’s as the ‘Rated R Superstar’ Edge makes
his way down to the ring. Once inside, he grabs hold of a mic. “Two weeks ago, Shane McMahon stood in this ring and
told me that I had to prove myself…that we all had to prove ourselves. Get some wins and don’t lose he told me.
Well that night I picked up a huge win, proof enough that I deserve to be a champion. But if that isn’t enough to convince
you Shane, then take a look at the competition. You could choose CM Punk…..but like everyone else I doubt you even know
who he is. You could choose Jeff Jarrett……but wait he lost earlier on tonight. The field of choices is thin Shane,
it makes sense th….”
‘GUILTY’ Edge then looks to the entrance ramp in horror as the man who interrupted him, Chris Harris, makes
his way to the ring, mic in hand. “Hold on one second there Edge. As per usual you just happen to be spouting a load
of bull….although I will give you a little credit….you did say one thing I agree with. That one thing is that
beating Chris Benoit was a huge victory, it would be for anyone. But the fact of the matter is you had to cheat to do it.
You didn’t earn anything Edge. And as for the field of competition being thin, well I have to disagree with that to.
Just like you, I have a win under my belt. Just like you I was a bit of one of the most successful tag team this business
has ever seen. And just like you Edge, I believe I have what it takes to be a champion.”
‘I SPIT IN THE FACE OF PEOPLE WHO DON’T WANT TO BE COOL’. Both men’s attention is then drawn to
the ramp as Carlito makes his way to the ring, talking as he goes. “Hey hey hey, are my ears hearing right? Did I just
hear Chris Harris say that he believes he could be a champion? Did I just hear Edge say that the field of competition is thin?
Well in case my hearing is good, I have one thing to say to the both of you…….that….that’s not cool.
You see, you want to talk about someone capable of being a champion…..then you talk about Carlito. Unlike you two boys,
Carlito is a second generation wrestler…..this business is in my blood. I was brought up with it, growing up with the
best this business had to offer. I have learnt from my peers, and I have surpassed them. So you want to talk about who deserves
to be champion…there is no man better on Infest then Carlito….”
‘MY TIME IS NOW!’ The crowd erupts as John Cena comes out onto the stage, before then making his way down to
the ring, where he is handed a mic before he enters. “Let me just say, it stinks in here……..it must be all
the crap I’ve been hearing in this ring! Now forgive me for interrupting, but I just happened to be watching a monitor
backstage, minding my own business when I came over with the urge to do something. I came over with a feeling…a feeling
I had to come out and save these people. Now Carlito, I don’t know what you have been soaking your apples in, but it
must be the same stuff Coach uses to make him believe that what he sees in a mirror looks good. You may well be a second generation
wrestler, no one in this ring can take that away from you. But while you are a second generation wrestler, you are a first
generation jackass. And Edge, where do I begin with you. So you think that you deserve to be a champion, that you have earned
the right to be one. You think that all these people watching here and around the world, that all the boys backstage, all
the staff of Infest and UCW, want to have you representing them as their champion? Well I have got some groundbreaking news
for you buddy…….they don’t. As I stood and watched on the monitor, I saw three men standing in this ring;
but there was only one man with the hunger and desire, with the passion and respect of the people, who could claim to have
be a deserving champion………….now there is two.”
But before he can say anymore, we see General Manager Shane McMahon appear on the big screen. “That’s enough,
it’s worse then being back at school. Edge, clearly what I said to you two weeks ago didn’t quite sink in, because
I believe I told you I wasn’t going to rush things. Like I said before, I want our champion to earn the right to be
called that, not be handed it on a silver platter. So here is what we are going to do. In just over two weeks at Inception,
we are going to have two matches. The first will see the ‘Rated R Superstar’ Edge versus ‘Wildcat’
Chris Harris for the very first time, and the other will be Carlito versus John Cena. Now here is the important part, so listen
carefully. The two men who win their matches will then face each other at the following months PPV event, in a match that
will crown our very first World Heavyweight Champion. So if you want to be in with that chance, then you have top win at Inception.
Now with that said, get the hell out of my ring!!” Shane then disappears, leaving all four men staring each other down
in the ring.
We are then shown a promotional advert, advertising UCW’s first live PPV spectacular, Inception, live on July 22nd.
It is now time for ‘Professor Ponders………..Chris Harris’ as we see a picture of Mike Tenay
sitting by a fire. “When I think of Chris Harris, I think of a man who has achieved so much in this business so far,
but is yet to reach the peak of his abilities. A proven tag team champion, he has held tag team gold on no less then seven
occasions. But now we get to see Chris Harris the solo star. We have see a glimpse of it before, and that was certainly enough
for me to believe that Harris has what it takes to be a huge breakout star here in UCW. Certainly one to keep an eye on, 2007
could prove to be the start of the Chris Harris era!” The shot then fades away.
We then join Mike Tenay & JBL at ringside. “Folks, what an action packed night we have had so far. We have seen
some great matches and some high drama. Jeff Jarrett felt the wrath of Edge via Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, and it has surely
cost him dear, but it did lead to Rhino picking up his first win here on Infest. But the big news we heard just now was
that at Inception we will see Edge vs. Chris Harris and Carlito vs. John Cena, with the two winners facing each other at the
following PPV to determine our first ever World Heavyweight Champion.” “They should be two great matches Tenay,
although I am slightly disappointed that Edge has to basically qualify for that championship match. In my opinion he should
have been put straight into it, with the others competing for the spot to face him. But at least Carlito is getting a chance
which as he says, he deserves.” “Speaking of Carlito, I am just getting word from the back that he has requested
to host his very first UCW Cabana, live next week right here on Infest! Plus if that isn’t enough, next week all three
participants of the X Division triple threat match at Inception will be in action next week, in a triple threat tag match.
The twist is that all three get to chose their partner, who then won’t be revealed until the match takes place. That
should be exciting to see JBL.” “Intriguing to say the least, I mean for all you, one of them could pick me Tenay!”
“Let’s hope not, for the fans sake! But now lets return our focus to tonight, because we still have our main event,
and the debut of the third man in the triple threat match, the ‘Fallen Angel’ Christopher Daniels. So lets hand
over to Lillian Garcia.”
Main Event
Christopher Daniels vs. Jay Lethal
With both men well liked by the crowd, the atmosphere was lively as they chose to just enjoy the action. The match was
fast paced, with the advantage swaying back and forth between the two men. Daniels was keen to get some momentum ahead of
Inception, while Lethal wanted to prove he was worthy of being an X Division contender. There were some near falls from both
men, gripping the crowd. But in the end it was the ‘Fallen Angel’ Christopher Daniels who came out on top, delivering
the Angels Wings to Lethal to pick up the victory. As Daniels then scales the turnbuckle in celebration, we see AJ Styles
walk his way down to ringside, and the two start to exchange words. But their attention is then drawn to the stage as Jerry
Lynn appears. The show goes off the air with all three men exchanging stares.
