UCW Meltdown – March 19 – Wednesday Night Action Zone

As the opening strains of Guns’ N’ Roses’ Welcome to the Jungle blast from the screen, we are shown brief highlights from last weeks edition of UCW Meltdown. Team 3D came to the ring and announced there agreement with Jim Cornette and, should LAX agree to face them a victory would earn Team 3D a tag team title match. Jeff Hardy then scored a strong victory before being mocked again by Ranjin Singh, while later that night 3D seemed to have LAX beaten when the Majors interfered, causing a DQ and then laying out Devon at ringside, and taking Brother Ray down, inside the ring with their patented Major After Shock tandem tag-team manoeuvre. Then JB presented a special look at the recent UCW history of The Monster Abyss, attempting to explain his recent actions, but only really posing even more questions, before Kurt Angle & Triple H met face-to-face in the ring ahead of UCW Immortality where they were set to meet in a 1-on-1 title match, before Samoa Joe interrupted, informing both men that the match was changed to a Triple Threat Match for the title, before Joe proceeded to clear the ring, asserting himself as the dominant challenger. And in the main event, with Randy Orton having shown his apparent Infest contract, the Legend Killer was DQ’d against Shawn Michaels for failing to break on the ropes, only to continue the beating and hit HBK with the RKO, taking him down and out. However Orton was then confronted by Jim Cornette with a shocking announcement, that far from moving to Infest, Orton would be required to sign a contract next week, for a match at Immortality, with the man known to one and all as simply The Icon, before the Big Screen played dark, flashing images, proclaiming the return of Sting!

Our broadcast then begins as we focus on a shot of the Instant Classic Christian Cage, standing backstage in the Action Zone, facing the camera as we hear the crowd boo, wearing his flashy ring-jacket and sporting a very cocky, arrogant smile upon his face, saying…“Good evening and welcome to the show, with I the Ultimate SHOW-man, the ‘Epitome of Excellence’ the Instant Classic, Christian Cage but tonight people, may not be what you expected going in because you may witness a shocking event, because tonight might be the final match in the career, or the life of Shawn Michaels, as I once again get to choose his opponent…and I have chosen a formidable one, because HBK has made a career out of stealing the show, taking the spotlight, delivering career defining performances, doing things that no man thought possible, but tonight HBK has his toughest test…Against his opponent, The Monster ABYSS!” And as Cage smiles and scoffs into the camera, clearly pleased with this selection, now we cut away to the live opening of the show, complete with HUGE pyro display.

And following the live opening to the show complete with a HUGE display of pyro, we now join Jeremy Borash standing in the ring holding a mic, as the crowd cheers, saying…“Ladies, gentlemen and UCW fans the world over, welcome to Meltdown, and tonight we have a hell of a show for you all with the action starting in a moment, seeing things finally come to a head in the Tag Team Division after several weeks because with Team 3D having returned to the title hunt, and the Majors closing in, tonight sees a No.1 Contenders Match between Team 3D and the Majors Brothers, when the winners will meet LAX for the title at Immortality. But that’s not all, because as we heard moments ago courtesy of Christian Cage, HBK is up against it, having to face The Monster Abyss in Cage’s Choice and, as we all know by now, tonight sees the UCW Meltdown return of the man they call Sting…The Stinger, because in this very ring The Icon will finally stand face-to-face with Randy Orton, after all that has gone before, to sign the contract that binds them both for March 30, Legend Killer v. Icon at Immortality and after tonight there is no turning back. But, now with only 10 days to go until the Big Event live and exclusive on PPV March 30, from Madison Square Garden, New York the Meltdown & Infest brands of UCW combine to present to you all…the Grandest Show on Earth, the highlight of our year, Wrestling’s Super Bowl and last week we learned the jewel in the Meltdown crown, the UCW Championship…Would be defended in a Triple Threat Match, featuring two deserving challengers in The Game Triple H & the Samoan Submission Machine, Samoa Joe…But with the biggest match of his career now almost upon him and, having over-come an onslaught from the best UCW has to offer thus far in his reign, the UCW Champion Kurt Angle will not be an easy man to dislodge from that spot, and without further ado I believe he is in place and has much to say, regarding Immortality, his challengers, Jim Cornette and much, much more, so here he is, former Olympic Gold Medal Champion, current UCW Champion…Kurt Angle!!!”

Then following this brief introduction, the arena lights gradually begin to dim, signalling the arrival of Kurt Angle as attention now turns towards the entrance way, we hear the beginnings of some really intense music playing over the sound system, before a dark silhouetted figure rises on a platform from below the Action Zone stage, with a hood covering his head, then as the crowd begins to jeer as he steps forwards, removing his hood and revealing the gold UCW Championship Belt around his waist, wearing white wrestling boots and a wrestling-suit emblazoned with yellow flames and being joined by his wife Karen Angle who makes her way out through the curtain wearing a very sexy, very short, low-cut black dress with high-heeled black shoes, Kurt now begins to advance down the ramp, pausing half-way to remove the belt, holding it high above his head and tilting his head back, basking in his own glory, before continuing to advance and entering the ring, with a huge smile upon his face, while holding the ropes open for his wife who enters the ring as Kurt follows her, placing his newly won UCW Championship Belt proudly over his left shoulder and then once inside, Kurt calls for a mic and, as the jeers subside he addresses JB, saying…“Thank you for the introduction JB, but if you don’t mind I am short on time, so if we could get straight to the point I would certainly appreciate it. Now as you say, I am the jewel in Meltdown’s crown…this belt says I’m the best wrestler in the world, from Undertaker, to Christian Cage, to Sting, even Triple H himself at Road 2 Glory, they have all tried and failed to take this title away from me and with my beautiful wife Karen by my side, there is no chance that anyone can ever beat me, in this ring, on this mat, hold-for-hold, move-for-move and that’s just the way it is right now JB, no questions…no doubt, because I am the BEST, period. In this Triple Threat match, some people say it favours the challengers, I say that’s B.S. it favours the champion, because now I have two chances to beat both men that I have already beaten before, and two me that sounds like pretty good odds. So if I was a betting man and I’m not, but if I were I’d put my life savings on Kurt Angle walking out of Immortality STILL the UCW Champion, STILL the best wrestler in the world and STILL unbeatable!!!”

TIME 2 PLAY THE GAME! But as the Action Zone crowd erupts with a loud cheer, cutting-off Kurt Angle to welcome Triple H, before a deafening response breaks out, opposing the reaction of the Angles who observe The Game with complete disdain, coming down the ramp, dressed in casual jeans and an official King of Kings T-shirt, wearing a leather jacket and with an incredibly intense attitude about his entrance, with the arena bathed in a dark green glow as the sound of Motorhead reverberates, The Game then climbs up onto the apron and locks eyes with Kurt’s intense glare, before turning to spit his water out into the front row to a deafening crowd reaction. Triple H steps through the ropes into the ring, calling for a mic to address the crowd, before confronting Kurt and with cheers echoing all around the sold-out Action Zone, saying…“You know Kurt, I was back there waiting for the perfect time to interrupt and honestly this seems like the perfect time to me, because however much you say it, no matter how much you believe in it yourself and how much you try against all hope to convince these people other-wise…You’re Wrong…you know it and I know it, because you’re not unbeatable…and you have never beaten me in a UCW ring and, that is a fact. Now need I remind you of the final Meltdown of 2007 in December, when I pinned you with the Pedigree for the 1-2-3? And you mentioned Road 2 Glory, so need I remind you that I beat you again that night, then when the ref screwed me, that’s when I Pedigreed your wife, put her in the hospital and didn’t even think twice, and believe me Kurt, I will not hesitate to do it one-more-time if I really have to, because nothing will stand in my way, nothing will turn me off of my course now, nothing will derail my quest and you can look deep in my cold, dead eyes and know, everything I say is true…and at Immortality on March 30, live and exclusive on PPV, Madison Square Garden, New York…the King of Kings Goes Back on His Throne...”

JOE’S GONNA KILL YOU! And as tensions rise between challenger & Champion, proceedings are interrupted with the familiar entrance music of Samoa Joe sounding, before the Samoan Submission Machine himself now gradually comes out into view, wearing casual trousers and an official ‘Joe’s Gonna Kill You’ Meltdown T-shirt, while Angle utters something to his wife, Triple H turns to cast his eyes toward Joe, with his face grimaced with complete disdain, The Game now brushes his hair back, while the crowd chant…“JOE…JOE…JOE…JOE!” as Joe pauses on the main stage, before slowly making his way down the ramp with an intense expression on his face. And with the sold-out live crowd chanting his name, Samoa Joe now enters the ring, smiling briefly while the cheers and chants from the live crowd gradually increase when Samoa Joe stands face-to-face with Kurt Angle, confronting the champion, before eventually claiming a mic and, after a slightly more mixed response breaks out when Joe now stands face-to-face with Triple H, confronting the King of Kings, gradually Joe backs away from both men and stands in a neutral position next to JB, saying…“Calm down boys, Immortality is not for another 10 days, only right now, seems to me like you both wanna get it on tonight…here in front of JB and Karen but, honestly while I really don’t care and you are more than welcome, I really must say, that you cannot start this party without the Samoan Submission Machine because, while I crashed things last week…that only served to lay down a marker for myself. You see make no mistake I still have unfinished business with the both of you two, see Kurt you cost me my first chance of a shot at the UCW Championship and then, when I did get my shot, you screwed me out of that as well and Hunter, need I say, everyone knows the story between us…we don’t like each other, probably never will, maybe we’re just to similar for our own good…But whatever, it really doesn’t matter, because I came out here to break-up your party and start one of my own, right now…” But as Joe squares up to The Game, with the crowd cheering as HHH also turns, confronting the Samoan, while JB backs away as does Karen Angle with Kurt, saying…“You know I don’t know about you JB, or about these fans here tonight but, I’d say that Joe and Hunter both have some issues they need to settle between them, and since as UCW Champion, I deserve the night off…I have a great idea for tonight, how about we have the rubber match between Joe & Triple H live here on Meltdown? That way you two can tear each other apart before we even get to Immortality and then on March 30 you’ll have one less thing in your way…one less hurdle to jump, but when you both do get there, I’m still gonna chew-up and spit-out whatever’s left!”

And with JB now leaving the ring as Triple H turns away from Joe towards Angle, confronting the UCW Champion as Karen also exits the ring, Joe quickly reacts, pulling HHH by the shoulder and turning him around before going on the attack, connecting with several rapid-fire right hands, rocking back Hunter’s head and buckling his knees as Kurt exits to join his wife at ringside, while back in the ring, Samoa Joe backs Triple H into the ropes only for The Game to quickly counter, over-powering Joe to reverse the move, sending the Samoan away into the ropes instead. But then, as Joe hits the ropes and HHH swings, Joe ducks underneath a clothesline, before stopping in his tracks behind HHH and as The Game turns to confront him, quickly Joe leaps to deliver a spectacularly stiff jumping kick to the head of HHH, sending him down. Then as Triple H rolls to the outside grabbing his head in pain, while Joe stands accepting the partial cheers from a section of the Action Zone crowd, before Joe can step through the ropes to the outside, attention turns to the main stage, where as HHH staggers to his feet in a daze at ringside, Jim Cornette comes into view, holding a mic and drawing the attention of Kurt & Karen Angle from the entry ramp, as-well-as Samoa Joe in the ring. And then Cornette commands everyone’s attention, saying…“What the hell is wrong with you two, can’t you even wait 10 more days? It’s not as if I don’t have enough on my plate right now…But I have to deal with this, Samoa Joe, Triple H, the people are divided, some like The Game, they cheer for you, while some like Samoa Joe and they cheer for the Samoan Submission Machine and that is their prerogative but, my prerogative is to ensure all goes well here and now. And it is important that you both focus on what’s important and that is not each other, because what’s important is Kurt Angle and the UCW Title at Immortality and so, with that in mind, I’ve an idea for one last attempt at getting you two to remain calm, and that is once again to team-up…but this will not be like the rest, because tonight, you will have no option but to work together or you’ll risk being torn apart separately, since you will be taking on the UCW Champion Kurt Angle and his partners, VKM, in a 3-on-2 Handicap Match. So good luck men, because if you don’t work together, you might just risk being taken out before you even make it to Immortality at all…” And as Cornette turns and makes his way back through the curtain, the Angles smile, while HHH slowly backs away from ringside still holding his head, as Joe stares, refusing to take his gaze away from Triple H, with Kurt & Karen now on the stage, when Kurt holds the UCW Championship Belt high above his head, as we cut away.

The Icon and the Nature Boy Re-visited…A Rivalry Re-born for One Night Only

Cutting away from the live action footage now airs re-living the UCW career of Sting, beginning here with his first appearance in the Action Zone on the Meltdown debut, when having been introduced by GM Cornette, The Stinger receives a huge welcome, only to be confronted by his old rival Nature Boy Ric Flair and challenged to a match. Then following the refusal of a handshake, when the match takes place the week after, during an epic back-and-forth contest, Flair gives everything he has against The Icon, however cheered-on by the live crowd Sting battles through the intense struggle and, after firing-up with uncontrollable emotion, Sting makes a superb, heroic come-back, eventually placing Flair into the Scorpion Death Lock and forcing ‘Naitch’ to tap-put. Sting then gains the victory before helping Flair to his feet with the crowd cheering, before sharing a popular hand-shake and as Ric Flair leaves the ring to an ovation, having been beaten by the better man, Sting stands triumphant with his arms spread, embracing the crowd and accepting the cheers with his trademark cry…“Wooooo!!!”

Tag Team No.1 Contenders Match

Team 3D vs. Major Brothers

And with both teams having entered and now standing together inside the ring, following pre-match instructions, the match gets under-way with a very fast start with the Majors double-teaming 3D in the early stages and gaining the instant advantage, but following several near falls after some fine combinations and tandem offence, Team 3D manage to re-group and isolate the referee from the action for a moment, before Brother Ray keeps the official distracted as Devon delivers a vicious low blow, grounding Brett Major. Then as Brother Ray backs away and the referee re-joins, Brian Major’s complaints fall on deaf ears as Devon now takes firm control of things. And as Team 3D now maintain frequent tags to keep themselves fresh and in control, gaining many near falls after some under-handed tactics keep the Majors at bay, eventually Brett Major takes advantage of a sloppy double-team attempt by Team 3D, able to duck and dive to his corner and somehow tagging in Brian with a hot tag, cleaning house on Brother Ray before both Majors then enter as chaos breaks out, causing a free-for-all and finally leaving all four men down in the ring, on their backs, until Devon is the first man to rise. Devon then drags Brother Ray to his feet as well, before hoisting the legal Brett Major up onto his shoulders for a Doomsday Device, while Devon climbs the turnbuckle. Then as Devon looks to come off the top rope, suddenly Brett Major drops down off of Ray’s shoulders, before catching out Devon, shoving Ray forwards into his brother and causing Devon to straddle the turnbuckle. Then as Devon drops down to the outside in pain, Brett Major now sets himself, taking Brother Ray down with a Frantic DDT before the Majors combine themselves, each getting to their feet again and climbing to the top of separate turnbuckle-posts, before leaping off to come crashing down on Brother Ray with consecutive leg drops, executing the Major After Shock. But as a commotion can now be seen at ringside, while the referee begins to count as Brett Major makes the cover on Brother Ray, suddenly LAX jump the guard-rail with their Mystery Member and as the ref counts, 1……2……Hernandez drags the referee to the outside! Then as the ref turns around, the Mystery Nation Member connects with a stinging slap to the face of the referee, causing him to immediately call for the bell, ending the tag match with a double DQ. And as confusion reigns in the crowd with Homicide having already entered the ring, attacking Brian Major, Brett now gets to his feet to begin beating down Homicide, only for Hernandez to join the argument, entering and bringing his size into account. And as LAX eventually over-power the already drained Majors, beating them down, leaving Brett & Brian on the canvas with Brother Ray, with Devon down at ringside, Homicide and Hernandez signal for the Mystery Nation Member to enter the ring, slowly coming up the steps and through the ropes, as the crowd reaction is mixed. Then, when the Mystery Member begins to reveal remove his hat and tossing it aside, revealing long black hair underneath. Then as he removes his sunglasses and the bandana covering his face, to reveal that he is in fact a very attractive Latina SHE! And as the crowd go wild, the woman pops open her long over-shirt to reveal, underneath a very skimpy, very tight fitting, crop-top showing off HUGE breasts, before she then removes her baggy trousers to reveal some very skimpy, tight shorts, while as the crowd goes ever wilder, Homicide & Hernandez play to their supporters, as the young lady begins to gyrate her curvaceous hips and shake her perfect ass, before with Hernandez making LAX signs with his hands, Homicide calls for a mic, saying…“Orale all you gringos out there, in case you don’t know we will show you, this is what a REAL woman looks like…and she is part of the Latino Revolution, born and raised to Live & Die in LAX…and her name is Salinas!!! And so you know, to set the record straight this is what the BEST tag team in UCW looks like, Brrrrra! LAX Tag Team Campeones del anillo Lucha Libre…and the Revolution continues!” And having brought a shocking end to this No.1 Contenders Match here tonight, joined by the sexy Salinas, LAX now leave the ring with their music playing aloud, while uncertainty spreads concerning the true No.1 Contenders before we cut away.

The Icon once again becomes The Franchise…Sting wins the UCW Championship

Cutting away from the live action footage now airs re-living the UCW career of Sting, continuing here with the Main Event from the Inception PPV event back in August, where The Stinger defied the odds, all the critics as-well-as his 4-capable opponents, Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe and Christian Cage after a cascade of dramatic in-ring action, surviving a world of punishment and again making a miraculous, spirited come-back, eventually connecting with the Stinger Death Drop to scored the decisive Pin Fall, before having his hand raised in victory by the official and with the crowd cheering, finally, we then see Meltdown GM Jim Cornette enter the ring, to shake Sting’s hand and present him with tremendous pride, the beautiful, gold UCW Championship Belt. And, as Cornette eventually exits the ring leaving The Stinger alone with the crowd, The Icon accepts the crowd’s adulation with his usual humble modesty and respect, with fans standing in salute to the champion, holding aloft his newly won Title Belt.

Backstage we now join JB hurriedly knocking on the door to Jim Cornette’s office, before Melina opens the door and welcomes JB inside while we also see Cornette, glued to the TV monitor and nervously scratching his head while JB now enters, saying…“Thank you Melina, now Mr. Cornette, I know you have a big night tonight, but with Immortality coming-up in just 10 days, following what we have just seen, what do you plan to do about the Tag Team Championships at our biggest PPV event? Without a clear No.1 Contender, arguably 3D & the Major both have a claim and, LAX themselves have clearly laid down a marker for the future with that display, unveiling the new member to be a woman…Sir, what does all of this mean to you?” Then Cornette says…“Well JB, if I had maybe an eternity to think about all of this, then and only then might I come up with a suitable plan to please all involved but, since Immortality is only 10 days away, as you say, someone is bound to be up-set. Now it just so happens that while neither Team 3D or the Major Brothers have won, actually I take a different view this time…Because since neither team lost the match, maybe they both deserve to be the No.1 Contenders and, after their rivalry all month, personally I would like to see all three of these teams go at it to determine the BEST, so at Immortality that is exactly what is gonna happen. March 30 live only on PPV, the LAX will defend the Tag Team Titles against Team 3D and the Major Brothers, under UCW Triple Threat Tag Team Rules…with 3-men in the ring at all times and, if that doesn’t settle things I don’t know what will…may the BEST tag team win. Now if you don’t mind, I’ve a rather important Contract Singing to prepare for, so…” And as JB is ushered out of the office by Melina, into the hallway as the door slams, he is suddenly taken by shock as The Monster Abyss aggressively marches past him, clearly focused and on his way to the ring to face Shawn Michaels while JB re-acts, quickly following Abyss while the camera catches up with JB chasing The Monster, saying…“Abyss, Abyss, it’s JB the Backstage Host, can I get your comments now, about everything, about your actions, about your father, about tonight against HBK, about the Undertaker? Abyss, can you hear me, Abyss its JB, Abyss…Chris Parks!!!” But instantly upon hearing the sound of his true given name, The Monster stops still, before snapping his head towards JB and stepping closer to the now terrified host, before snapping his head back towards the camera, breathing heavily into the screen, saying…“My father is not important, he doesn’t matter now and he won’t ever again, but tonight I will destroy Shawn Michaels…Just Like I Destroyed The Undertaker!!!” And as Abyss turns back towards JB, while the host begins to cower away from him, Abyss suddenly turns towards the camera, looking directly into the screen and, yelling…“DOOMSDAY!” before crossing his arms and roaring aloud with anger, displaying his immense, uncontrollable rage towards the world, before we cut away.

Classic Choice Match

Shawn Michaels vs. Abyss

I’M JUST A SEXY BOY! As the crowd suddenly erupt with applause at his entrance, the Heartbreak Kid makes his way down the ramp with his usual energetic charisma, climbing into the ring and performing his famous pose, with the crowd going wild, before attention turns towards the main stage as The Monster marches into view, making his way aggressively and purposely down the entrance ramp towards the ring. Then as the crowd watches in awe, Abyss steps onto the apron and over the top rope, before quickly advancing toward HBK as the bell rings and Michaels grits his teeth, before making a fast start and charging directly at Abyss, catching him off-guard. Abyss then quickly raises his arms, shoving HBK off, sending the Showstopper down, before Michaels springs back to his feet and charges again, leaping into a Thesz Press, only for Abyss to stand tall and catch HBK in mid-air, before staggering backwards, into the ropes and releasing his hold of Michaels, who drops to his feet on the canvas, before continuing his rabid assault with a barrage of rapid-fire right and left hands, before connecting with a stiff kick to the gut and a stiff knife edge chop to the chest. HBK then grabs The Monster’s arm and looks for an arm-whip but Abyss counters, over-powering Michaels and sending him away and into the far corner at high speed. Abyss then prepares to charge at HBK and crush him in the corner, but as he does Michaels quickly moves and Abyss runs into the turnbuckle himself, before Michaels grabs Abyss’ arm and again goes to shoot him into the ropes, but is again reversed and again sent there himself. But Michaels is able to react quickly and dig deep, coming back from the ropes with huge momentum and launching into his patented spectacular flying fore-arm, connecting with Abyss and rocking The Monster back across the ring. Michaels then quickly springs to his feet and charges at The Monster, staggering Abyss with a further clothesline, before turning and hitting the ropes again, only for Abyss ready to counter, this time running directly into a HUGE clothesline, sending HBK down. Then after several brutalising power moves on Shawn Michaels, Abyss attempts several covers but when HBK kicks out, refusing to accept defeat, Abyss seems frustrated before roughly dragging Michaels to his feet by the hair and while the crowd show support for Michaels, The Monster cinches in a debilitating Bear Hug, attempting to slowly squeeze the life and the fight out of the Showstopper. Then, as Abyss wrenches away on HBK, squeezing harder and harder with each time, our cameras show a shot from backstage, with the Instant Classic Christian Cage watching these events closely on a T.V. monitor in the hall-way, appearing happy as eventually Michaels begins to fade and his eyes now give a rather glazed over look as the referee questions whether he wants to continue. But when HBK fails to answer, the official then has no option but to raise Michaels’ arm and drop it the first time. With still no response from HBK the ref raises his arm again and drops it once more, the ref then looks over at the time keeper, before raising HBK’s arm for a third time, but as the ref drops Shawn’s arm again, miraculously he keeps it up at the last second to a huge cheer from the live crowd, who now have a sense of hope for Michaels. HBK then tries to wriggle free, twisting and scrapping in an attempt to break the hold, before Abyss’ power shows again and aggressively shoves Michaels down to the mat. The Monster then drags a drained HBK to his feet and hoists him up and off his feet, lifting him onto his shoulders for Shock Treatment only for Michaels to fight back, frantically wriggling his legs and escaping Abyss’ grasp, dropping down to the mat, then as Abyss turns HBK connects with a stinging chop to the chest of The Monster before looking for an arm-whip but again Michaels is over-powered and reversed but, as HBK is sent into the ropes, Abyss quickly explodes with rage and charges forward, connecting with a tremendous Big Boot and sending Michaels down to the canvas, slamming the back of HBK to the mat and almost knocking his head off his shoulders. Abyss then stands tall, crossing his arms, roaring with anger and extreme intensity, before dragging Shawn to his feet and tossing him through the ropes to the outside, causing Michaels to land in a crumpled heap out on the cold, hard ringside floor, before Abyss steps easily up over the top rope and climbs down from the apron as HBK then staggers to his feet and connects with a wild right hand that staggers Abyss, before The Monster quickly recovers to ground Michaels with a brutal clothesline. Abyss then turns to see the announce table and, with dread in the eyes of the crowd, he begins to remove the various TV monitors and other obstructive parts of the table. Abyss then re-focuses on HBK, who is briefly beginning to stir, before connecting with several vicious stamps to Michaels’ back, as the crowd look on with horror. Abyss then drags HBK up and off his feet, lifting him high into the air by his throat, before driving him down, through the announce table with a devastating choke slam. And as HBK lays motionless amidst the shattered remains of the announce table, Abyss then steps away from the carnage and, with Michaels remaining motionless, Abyss re-enters the ring, as the official’s count having now reached up to 3, 4 and 5, with the crowd jeering as Michaels lays still, with no sign of response to the count, eventually the referee reaches the count of 8, 9, 10 and calls for the bell to end things, awarding victory to The Monster Abyss via Count Out. But as Abyss roars aloud, slowly the ref attempts to raise the hand of The Monster but when Abyss lashes out, shoving the official to the canvas, the ref quickly rolls to the outside. But however, with Abyss standing tall, crossing his arm and roaring aloud with intense anger, showing his dominance with a team of medical staff gathering around ringside, tending to HBK, as The Monster standing alone in the ring fixes his eyes on them…

LIGHTS OUT! But the lights cut-out and we hear a single bell tolling in the distance, causing Abyss to suddenly become visibly anxious, with eyes wide-open with shock, before amid deafeningly loud cheers and a tumultuous roar from the live crowd, smoke begins to come from under the ring and, as the cheers of the crowd increase, the Big Screen begins to crackle with static & interference and suddenly goes blank before showing a rush of images with skulls and grave stones and cemetery gates, before suddenly going blank again as the arena is then bathed in an eerie purple light, while in conclusion, these ominous words appear on the Big Screen for all to see…

“Abyss…My Patience Has Run It’s Course,

And Now Your Fate Is Sealed,

As The Darkness Beckons Your Demise…

And With the Hour at Hand,

You Will Stand Before the Reaper,

And Pay For Your Sins,

With MIND…BLOOD…and SOUL,

For In Time You Will…Rest In Peace…”

Then as the ominous message comes to an end and the screen goes blank once more, with The Monster looking on, standing speechlessly in the ring, eyes still wide-open, while the arena lights now return to normal as the smoke begins to clear in the arena, slowly we begin to cut away from ringside as Abyss remains stood alone in the ring, crossing his arms and roaring aloud, sending a message of defiance to the live crowd.

Battle Lines are drawn and the Icon falls prey to an ambitious Legend Killer

Cutting away from the live action footage now airs re-living the UCW career of Sting, continuing when Sting was confronted several times by the young man Randy Orton, initially turning the Legend Killer down for a title match, Orton strikes back hard, being out witted time and time again by The Stinger, before one more confrontation, inside the Elimination Chamber, where Orton would savagely attack The Icon, bloodying his head and smearing his face-paint before a vicious kick to the groin, ending with a devastating RKO. Then on the first edition of UCW Meltdown in 2008, Orton would make a statement to end Sting’s career, bringing Sting out to the ring, but after a back-and-forth exchange once more The Stinger got the better of Orton, before the following week following an intense stand-off with the GM Jim Cornette, Sting was not focused and caught-off caught by a sneak attacker from the crowd, proving to be Randy Orton in a Sting Mask, choking Sting out with chloroform fluid, to the shock of the crowd. Sting would then confront Cornette the following week, demanding Orton be re-instated from suspension, but when angered by Cornette, Sting walked-out, while the week after Orton began a campaign to mock The Icon, deriding his successes and achievements, while also giving Cornette an RKO too. Flashes of Cornette’s various failed contract offers to Sting then play on the screen, before we hear Orton slandering The Icon while hitting several, repeated RKO moves, before finally standing alone in the ring last week, when the arena lights blacked out, leading to a terrified look on Orton’s face, while images flashes upon the screen, proclaiming the return of Sting to Meltdown and an imminent meeting at Immortality.

Backstage we now re-join JB standing between the duo of Samoa Joe and Triple H, with both men looking away from the other not even wanting to make eye contract, saying…“Ladies and gentlemen, first let me inform you of an up-date on HBK, because following a Choke Slam through the announce table by Abyss moments ago, Shawn has been taken to our on-sight medical facility for evaluation on his back and, as many of your know, the problems with Shawn’s back are well documents already, now this situation only makes matters worse, heading into Immortality on March 30, where his condition allowing, HBK will lock-up with Instant Classic Christian Cage. But right now my guests are, although it may not appear so, tag team partners again, tonight against Kurt Angle & VKM in a handicap match made by GM Jim Cornette. Now this effort to forge a union between two of our biggest fan favourites seems well-placed but, has certainly not met with approval from these men in question…” But with Triple H having heard enough he grimaces with disdain at Joe and JB, saying…“Approval? No JB, I do not approve of this situation, far from it in fact, because the last time I was paired-up with this man, he stabbed me in the back, screwed me in the match and now I’m supposed to play nice because Cornette said so, well I say…that’s fine! You seem surprised JB, are you shocked that I would say that? Well let me explain, because I will not allow anything or anyone, to stand between me and my goal, my aim, my need to reach Immortality, to be crowned UCW Champion! And if I gotta play partners for one more night with one of my opponents on the way, so be it…but it will be different on March 30…then it will be every man for him self, and mark my words…at Immortality the King of Kings Goes Back on His Throne…” But Joe says…“When you say that, are you trying to convince everybody else Hunter, or are you trying to convince yourself…because you don’t sound convincing to me. You know, we have been back-and-forth all year, we have road each others coat-tails, we have battled all the way and now we both stand on the cusp of glory in 10 days… But I wonder if you are so focused on Kurt Angle, that you have forgot about me, because while you did beat me that only makes me more determine to beat you back, which only makes me more dangerous…but while you think about that for a moment, allow me to put your mind at rest…I will be your partner tonight, I will be restrained, and you can trust me…but the moment I feel I cannot trust you, the gloves come off,  so be warned, if you try anything on me out there…Inevitably, You Will Be Broken!” And as Joe turns his back on Triple H and tosses his white towel over his shoulder, marching off towards the ring, HHH watches him go, before turning towards JB, saying…“The bottom line is, I don’t like Joe and he doesn’t like me, but understand, there is respect between us as rivals, but I don’t trust him anymore than he trusts me!” And as HHH takes a drink from his water bottom and splashes some on his hair, following this with The Game turning away, JB slowly nods his head as we cut away.

3-on-2 Handicap Match

Voodoo Kin Mafia & Kurt Angle vs. Triple H & Samoa Joe

And with VKM already in the ring as Kurt & Karen Angle begin to make entrance, Kurt whispers to his wife before she kisses him on the cheek and then turns away, heading back up the ramp to the back, while the UCW Champion enters the ring, joining up with VKM and sharing several high-5s. Then as Angle removes his belt, handing it to the ring-attendant for safe-keeping, the music of Samoa Joe sounds, causing all in the ring to take notice as Joe comes down to the foot of the ramp. Then, with Joe handing his white towel to the ring-attendant, attention turns to the stage, when the arena becomes bathed in a dark green glow as now Triple H enters and, when The Game makes his way down the ramp, standing side-by-side with Joe, while in the ring VKM and Angle stand beckoning both men to slide into the ring, suddenly, without warning HHH & Joe quickly charge forward, sliding into the ring at speed, instantly being set-up-on by VKM & Angle, before eventually battling to their feet, before the ref calls for the bell and with Samoa Joe backing BG against the ropes, Kurt Angle and Kip concentrate on Triple H, but when Kurt grabs HHH by the throat,  Kip charges with a fore-arm only for HHH to duck, causing Kip James to strike Kurt, sending him down. Then as Joe dominates BG James and HHH over-powers Kipper, both fans favourites combine to send VKM tumbling to the outside. But after this, while the crowd cheer with acceptance and approval, while HHH & Joe stand tall, suddenly Kurt Angle comes from behind The Game, getting to his feet and charging, clubbing HHH hard across the back and sending him sprawling down to the canvas, while Joe shrugs his shoulders and steps through the ropes, out onto the ring-apron. But with Angle looking to tie Triple H up in several submission holds on the canvas, The Game battles and breaks free, hitting the ropes and looking to build momentum, only to find Angle a step ahead when the UCW Champion stops HHH in his tracks, cutting him of and sending The Game down with a patented Belly-to-Belly suplex. Then with VKM back on the apron Angle tags Kip, as they all begin to rotate control, keeping each other fresh while torturing HHH, with Samoa Joe standing on the apron seemingly in no hurry to make a tag and save his partner. But as the match wears on, with Angle again in control, HHH eventually begins to show signs of a fight back, before Angle clubs The Game back down and tags Kip James back into the match. And with HHH seemingly un-able to fight back any further, with Kip now in control, eventually the former Mr. Ass doubles HHH over with a firm kick to the mid-section, before hitting the ropes, only for Triple H to duck away from the Fame-Asser and, when Kip rises and turns to confront him, HHH soon connects with a kick to the gut, taking Kip back down with a solid DDT. Then with both men down on the canvas, while HHH looks to clear his head, now Kip again looks for a tag to his partner BG, eventually making the tag as The Game gets to his feet, quickly ducking a clothesline, before rocking the fresher BG with several hard right hands, then backing him up, before James reverses HHH into the ropes and bends down to deliver a backdrop, only for The Game to counter with his patented Face Buster, taking BG James down. And with this, Kip now charges back into the ring at Triple H, who sees him coming, quickly countering to take Kip down with a brutal Double A-version Spine Buster, before BG gets to his feet and clubs HHH from behind, staggering him into the ropes. But as BG tries to send HHH across the ring, now The Game counters to reverse it, sending BG into the ropes, but as he looks for a back drop, now James counters, connecting with a solid kick to the gut, staggering HHH, but as BG now charges, suddenly The Game straightens up and counters again, taking BG down with another huge Double A-version Spine Buster. And as the crowd goes wild and HHH fires-up, but as Joe looks on from the ring-apron while HHH focuses on BG getting to his feet, connecting with a solid boot to the gut, before hooking his arms ready for a Pedigree, suddenly Kurt Angle charges back into the ring, clubbing HHH from behind again, buckling his knees and allowing BG James to escape from HHH and drop down, leaving both men on the mat as now Joe charges into the ring to get hold of Angle, only for Kurt to rolls under the bottom rope and head for the ramp, while Joe seethes, before being lead back to the apron by the ref, just in time to receive a tag from HHH. Then as BG staggers up and Joe enters, the crowd quickly goes wild with excitement, with Joe connecting with several of his patented combination manoeuvres on BG, including an Atomic Drop followed-up by a high dropkick and a sin-ton backsplash, for a 2-count. Then a snap-mare take-down, followed-up by a stiff chop to the back, then a kick to the chest and finally a knee to the head of BG for another 2-count. Samoa Joe then drags BG up but after a rake of the eyes, Joe has to tag HHH back in, while BG scrambles to tag Kip and, with Angle still watching events from the ramp with his challengers coming on strongly, Triple H gets the advantage on Kip James, before tagging Joe back into the match with BG charging back into the action illegally with the ref struggling to maintain control amid this chaotic situation, Joe then drags Kip to his feet and backs him into the corner, while HHH does the same to BG James before both fan favourites send the VKM partners across the ring and into each-other. And with the crowd now roaring with approval at the teamwork of Joe and Triple H, BG and Kip James then both stagger around in tandem as both Samoa Joe and HHH lash out with stiff boots to the mid-section, before Joe hoists Kip onto his shoulders while The Game hooks the arms of BG and both VKM men are driven to the mat, simultaneously as BG takes the Pedigree and Kip suffers from Joe’s Muscle Buster. Both men then make tandem covers and, as the official drops down to count the 1-2-3, he declares Samoa Joe & Triple H the winners via pin-fall, to the joy of the crowd. But as both men then get to their feet, having their hands raised above in victory, when Joe turns away from HHH to lock eyes with Kurt Angle up on the ramp, running his thumb across his throat, quickly The Game steps sideways and lashes out, catching Joe off-guard with a stiff boot to the mid-section, doubling him over and, with the crowd in shock and Angle looking in disbelief, Triple H hooks Joe’s arms, before planting him down to the canvas with the Pedigree, with the crowd stunned. But as The Game gets to his feet with Samoa Joe lying face-down on the canvas, Angle begins to back away having now reclaimed his UCW Championship Belt and, when HHH stands by Joe’s fallen frame to perform several aggressive Crotch Chops the crowd remain split but the majority still cheer the act of defiance and rebellion, aimed at the UCW Champion standing on the main stage, clutching his Title Belt but, when The Game mounts the turnbuckle and performs his famous HHH pose to Angle, the crowd respond loudly as Kurt looks on with nervous eyes as we now cut away.

And as we re-join JR & King at ringside following this unexpected turn of events, with the crowd still split with their reactions, we are given a brief rundown with JR, saying…“King I really can’t say I’m surprised, but I am still shocked at this reaction, half the crowd were cheering The Game as he planted Samoa Joe with the Pedigree, while the other half were booing, but with the allegiance of our fans now in question, one thing not in question is the desire of Triple H, Samoa Joe and even Kurt Angle heading into Immortality for the UCW Title…The Game & Joe wanting to win it, while the current champion will certainly fight like hell once again to retain it. But, just as I am speaking, I have heard in my headphones that after what we have seen, seemingly Jim Cornette has given-up on trying to play the peace-maker, therefore, next week live on Meltdown only days before Immortality we will see a huge match when Triple H takes on Samoa Joe, 1-on-1…Can you believe that King, next week?” And King says…“That will be amazing JR and with tension running even higher, after tonight, but it seems like Cornette has been a busy man elsewhere tonight too…” JR says…“Indeed King, because in addition to confirming for JB earlier tonight that Immortality will see a Triple Threat Match for the UCW Tag Team Championships between the champions LAX, Team 3D and the Major Brothers…Get ready for this, because at Immortality we now have confirmation that after weeks of speculation, attacks and controversy, The Monster Abyss will face the Undertaker on March 30, no mind games, no sneak attacks, just the two most dominant specimens in UCW going toe-to-toe with only the strongest to survive but King, the only question will be, is Madison Square Garden big enough to contain both men when they finally meet?” King says…“JR, don’t worry about that, just worry about the possible consequences, because if the Undertaker is unable to stop Abyss at Immortality…we’re all doomed!” JR says…“Well we have certainly witnessed the decline of Abyss over recent weeks, but with no solid answers forthcoming as to why he has focused on the Undertaker, next week in light of that match announcement, JB will attempt to gain those answers, with an actual interview with The Monster Abyss himself, live in the ring next week!” King says…“Well let’s hope JB will be more successful than he was earlier tonight, but with news that Shawn Michaels has been discharged by our on-site physician, next week we will see how tonight’s ordeal affects HBK before Immortality but, JR, are you ready to welcome back a man whose been gone from Meltdown for so long?” JR says…“I certainly am King, and I cannot wait to hear the ovation he receives but, before the contract can be signed for the match-up…Legend Killer vs. Icon…King, while I will attempt to remain impartial, I believe the entrances are about to begin…”

HEY, NOTHING YOU CAN SAY! And as the Action Zone crowd begins to jeer, while arena is bathed with a golden glow, Randy Orton slowly makes his entrance, coming out onto the main stage, striking his pose and surprisingly dressed to compete, but also wearing an all-new ‘limited Edition’ UCW Immortality Icon Killer T-shirt, Randy pauses briefly before stepping forward to advance his way down the ramp, very deliberately taking his time walking to the ring, pausing several times as he goes, exchanging harsh enough words with many members of the crowd in the front row, before slowly climbing-up the steel-steps and onto the apron, then ducking his head and stepping through the ropes, into the ring with the canvas covered with red carpet and a table set-up in the middle of the ring, with GM Jim Cornette sat behind it and one mic laying on the table along with the contract for the match at Immortality and, with Orton pulling-out one of the two empty chairs placed on either-side of the table, while the attention of every member of the live crowd turns towards the main stage…

But with no sign or arrival forthcoming, Orton slowly mouths something to Cornette before the GM hands Randy a pen and he signs the contract that is placed on the table, before resting the pen on the table and claiming the mic while looking at Cornette, saying…“Come on Cornette, my patience is slowly wearing thin, so where is he, huh, where is your boy, where is The Stinger? Where is the hero that these people all love, where is The Icon I have heard so much about? Because I don’t see him, right now…” And as Orton starts to rile-up the crowd with his comments, they begin to respond, chanting…“We Want Sting…We Want Sting…We Want Sting…We Want Sting…” And while these chants echo around the Action Zone, Orton soon gets petulant, saying…“Shut-up you idiots, just shut-up, I’m talking here and you should listen because it’s just like I have said time and time again, he’s scared and he’s a coward. My name is on this contract already, but his isn’t and now he’s late, one more time; that is if he even intends to show-up. Now I’m sorry to have disappointed everyone, even you Jimbo, but Sting is not going to show-up…And I was right all along, because he’s scared, he’s a coward and he’s afraid of Randy Orton and right now, honestly I think you all owe he something, I think you all owe me an apology and, actually right now…I demand one from every single ticket-holder in this building…”

IT’S SHOWTIME! But as the arena lights dim and attention turns to the entrance, electricity fills the Action Zone and the noise throughout the arena is truly deafening, as The Icon Sting, the former UCW Champion, once again makes his way to the ring, receiving a heroic welcome on his long awaited return as even Cornette is applauding, with the live crowd on their feet greeting The Stinger with a rapturous reception. Coming down the aisle wearing his long black trench coat and full black ring attire and familiar painted face, with his famous trademark black baseball bat held in hand, Orton looks on with disdain as The Icon pauses on the ramp as he looks around, spreading his arms to embrace the crowd then cupping one hand to his mouth and, yelling…“Wooooo!!!” as we see a shot of Orton standing still and shaking his head, as Sting climbs the steps into the ring, accepting the cheers of an enthusiastic crowd, before turning and standing face-to-face with the Legend Killer, for a brief moment, until stepping away and as the Stinger then claims the pen, Orton stays focused and, as Sting waists no time signing the contract without taking his eyes away from Orton, before tossing the pen to the canvas, Cornette now gets to his feet with a mic in hand, saying…“And there you have it ladies and gentlemen, the match that you all wanted, the match that has been a lifetime in the making…Sting vs. Randy Orton, Match 30, Madison Square Garden, New York…Live and exclusive on PPV at Immortality…” But then Sting suddenly grabs the mic and wrenches it away from Cornette’s grasp, before pushing his baseball bat into the chest of the GM and, as the crowd cheers, saying…“Cornette, you may run this show UCW Meltdown, but you’ve got NO clue, I know it, these people can see it and the way you handle things here is a disgrace…” And with that Sting shoves Cornette back into his chair with the top of his ball bat, before turning his attention to Orton, who can clearly be seen taking a HUGE gulp, while Sting now pushes his baseball bat forward into the chest of the Legend Killer, saying…“And as for you Randy Orton, you’ve got a Death Drop coming your way, maybe next week, maybe at Immortality…maybe even tonight if you feel lucky…” But as the crowd cheer with anticipation of a physical confrontation here and now, Orton backs away from the table, looking at Cornette slumped with fear in his chair, then looking back into the burning eyes of the Stinger, as he slowly raises his mic, saying…“Oh you’d like that wouldn’t you, you and all these people would like that, but tonight is no good for me Stinger, so I’ll see you at Immortality and not before…” And as Orton drops his mic and quickly turns away, rolling under the bottom rope, out of the ring, then hurriedly making his way up the ramp, towards the main stage, before turning for one final look at The Icon in the ring, with a cold look in his eyes, only for Sting to extent one arm and point his bat directly towards the Legend Killer, who refuses to be intimidated and stands tall on the stage, striking his famous pose, while Sting slowly steps up onto the table in the ring, bringing the crowd to their feet, once again pointing his baseball bat directly at Orton with the show coming to an end, while Orton remains defiant against Sting upon his long-awaited return to Meltdown.
